I absolutely adored this! The Chosen is one of my favorite shows and seeing it get the graphic novel treatment was truly a wonderful surprise. Obviously it wasn’t every episode beat for beat. Some scenes they had to alter to fit it within the structure of the book. To me it was like they took Season 1 and made changes as if they were structuring it into a single feature film. That all being said, this adaptation was truly great. The dialogue still hits and the artwork was honestly really terrific. I’d love to see the whole show get this treatment because truly it’s another wonderful way to experience Christ’s beauty in another medium. Dallas and company made that possible with how well crafted the show was and it truly translates well in graphic novel literature.

The illustrations are beautiful!
It's pretty close to the show, some scenes had to be shortened.

One little thing that bugged me, in the show Matthew's mother's name is Elisheva, but for some reason, they changed her name to Isabel in the comic. I looked up origins, and Isabel is the Spanish and Portuguese form of Elizabeth that can be traced back to Elisheva, but why didnt they keep her Hebrew name in the comic? Why change it? 🤷‍♀️
