I can't wait for karma to come for Maurice because he's doing too much. He thought the grass was greener with Ava but it's not. He's the one who verbally abused, humiliated, and put Essence out on the streets with their two sons. Now he see her driving a brand new car, losing weight, and maintaining without him. He's bitter and still trying to wreak havoc in her life. Seeing her happy with Giovanni had Maurice getting more scandalous. He caused Essence to lose her job and almost got her put in jail. Maurice even turned on his own brother. Which left Terrance fighting for his freedom because of Maurice lies and jealousy. Ebony is playing a dangerous game. I under her being frustrated about whats going on in her and Terrance marriage but how she's doing him is wrong on so many levels. Even with her trying to help him get out of jail after finding out he's in there because of Maurice. How's she is going about it is wrong as hell. She better hope her trifling ways don't backfire on her since she was sleeping with Rome and Xander. Xander thought he was smart but was dumb. Every underhanded and dirty thing he did to betray Giovanni has came back and bit him in the ass. Once Giovanni learned that Xander went to Antonne. Giovanni was done playing and stripped Xander of everything. Starting with Alauna finding out that Xander was up to no good, he lost his job, and home. Giovanni knew everything that Essence went through and was still going through with her divorce to Maurice. I was disappointed in him with what went down with him and that Hotel hoe Kassandra. When A Texas Millionaire Wants You 2: An African American Romance by Queen Rae is incredible and amazing story. Queen did a fantastic job. It is well written and powerful story.
I understand Gio wants to help Essence with her situation. He made sure she gets everything take care for herself and her children but he can’t force her to falling in love with him. Essence needs to healing from her toxicity relationship with Maurice.
I understand Essence is mad at Gio for telling the truth about he was sleeping with another woman but they’re not in serious relationship. Gio wants to let her go because she keeps rejecting him and denies him. Maurice and Gio are totally different people. Maurice is hiding everything from her and judging her. Maurice is belittling to her and disgraceful to her. Xander is greedy and jealous of Gio. I understand Terrence is protecting his brother but he is dummy. Maurice doesn’t care about anybody but himself. Maurice speaks his actions more than he speaks his words. His actions get more attention and trouble. His actions destroy people emotions and mental health. I can’t wait to read the finale series.

I'm sooooo sick of Maurice's azz!!!! The way he belittles and demean Essence is sickening. Like nicca you done already hurt her to her core, go on bout yo business and be happy with the family you made behind her back. Then the mess he got his brother into. Boy I can't wait till karma humbles his azz. Xander is another one that needs somebody hands. But I believe he about to get his. I wonder who was at the door? Mannnn Gio how you do my girl like that. I had so many high hopes for their love story and just like that he blew. Telling her wasn't gonna make it easier and neither would getting her back. Essence was finally starting to get back to her ole self, Maurice still not happy after all the drama he caused he still felt he was God's gift to women but his grandmother knocked him down. It was sad that he wasn't thinking about his brother because Terrance was clearly thinking about him and protecting him, but what got me confused was when Maurice said he was in love with Essence his sister in-law that can't be right but we shall see. Giovanni disappointed me preaching all that talk only to turn around and hurt Essence the same way Maurice had done therefore breaking his promise to her son, now he's going to be on little man's hit list like his dad is lol.

Part one Giovanni gave me all the feels, BUT his indiscretion has me HOT with him. My girl Essence, I want you to BOSS up in book 3, like no other. I want her to boss up on Giovanni, even if she takes him back, make him work harder for you. Xander my man, you in trouble. Ebony and her husband, I have no words for y’all. Love this series
I think this may be my favorite series thus far. Every page definitely left me wanting more. I'm glad Essence has Gio , her mom, and Ebony. They were definitely the support system she needed. Gio was definitely the man...until he wasn't, or maybe he still is. I'm definitely on the fence with him now because it was 2 easy , and he definitely should've said something BEFORE the party. I really hope Essence bosses up on EVERYBODY, including Charlene. I am so excited and ready for the next part.

I hope that Terrance can get out of jail and tell on maurice. Hopefully essence and Giovanni can forgive each other, I like them for each other. Ebony should give Roman a chance, I think they would be good together especially since her husband doesn't want to turn his brother in , so he can be with his family. I can't wait to read part 3. I hope everything works out for everyone and that Giovanni is able to get out of jail and continue to be there for essence and continue to grow his businesses.

Dragging
Book 3 doesn't seem necessary. I skipped pages in book 1 because it was dragging and I skipped even more this book trying to find out what happens between Essence and Giovanni. It was too many characters from book 1 and even more has been added. If I read book 3 it will only be to read Essence and Giovanni parts. I definitely don't like the way this author ends her continuing stories...not a cliffhanger, just boring.

Ughh a filler type of read
This is what I felt like was filler type of read...this book really didn't add much to the story other than all the men falling off. The sister's story is not needed to me as much area as she got in the story, and the way her husband acted was off. I hope book 3 is more of what we got in book 1.

Maurice and Xander are to guys that have no scruples, Ebony is a trip as well! The family dynamics couldnt be any different! I Knew Giovanni Would Get Caught Up…
Somehow I expected Gee to get caught up some way and end back up in jail wasn’t what I thought would happen. The girl he gave a chance to while away from home set him up and I’m sure of that (allow it wasn’t said in the book…YET). On to Book 3 (the finale)! I’m hopeful that’ll I’ll smile to happy endings for a FEW of the characters!
