Dearest Darlings of Darkness,

Let me spill the tea: I’ve been spiralling down the Broken Pieces of June rabbit hole, and no, I have no intention of clawing my way out. Naturally, I had to dive into the audiobook too because, well, obsession requires full immersion. And let me tell you, Casey Breverton ate and left no crumbs. She didn’t just narrate June—she became her. Honestly, I’m a little worried. Casey, babe, blink twice if you survived that wild ride.

This trilogy? Oh, it’s not just a story. It’s a full-blown experience. From June’s dive into her snuff film career to how it all ends (spoiler-free zone here—read or listen to find out), the twists will leave you clutching your pearls, gasping for air, and maybe questioning your life choices. The plot twists? Chef’s kiss. Addictive doesn’t even begin to describe it. It’s more like... “buckle up, you’re not leaving this ride until it’s over.” I don’t make the rules; this series owns you now.

If you haven’t listened to the audiobook, what are you even doing? Casey’s performance will give you chills and then some. To both Stuart and Casey: Bravo. Y’all put on a damn show.

Now, off to the lair I go to my next dark obsession.

My first read of Stuart's work, and I must say, it was fantastic! What a character June is! Ho-ly shit!!!
Stuart wastes no time dragging June into the underground world of snuff films where she shines like a bright Hollywood star... but in hell! The characters are wonderful; ranging from sleezy filth-bags to hulking monstrosities that will tear you limb from limb (on more than one occasion), and the overall story flows really well. Kudos to Stuart for coming up with so many interesting ways to torture and kill someone; I thought by book 3 things would get a bit repetitive but the storyline and grossness rolls on wonderfully.
If you are a fan of Edward Lee, Aron Beauregard, J F Gonzalez and so on, this is an absolute must-read for you. Needless to say, it has a ton of triggers, so it is not for the faint of heart. 4/5

Well what a wild f%#&ing ride that was! I really enjoyed this writer's style and how brutal and just wow everything was, there are some scenes that are just god damn disturbing and I loved every minute of this dodgey ass tale. I did find some of the characters reasoning for being what they are hard to understand if there at all but once I got that there are sometimes no whys or heroes in this book I just got on with it. I would not recommend these books to anybody that has any triggers at all cos this book crossed off every single trigger I could fathom and then added some more, but to anybody that hasn't got any I would 100% recommend!!! Will definitely read more of this guys work!

Damm. Just, damm. What a thrill ride. My first Stuart Bray, and it was this trilogy. I truly enjoyed the long, gore-filled ride it took me down.
Sadly, I had to bring it down to 4 🌟 stars due to some spelling mistakes and a few grammatical errors that were in it.
My apologies Mr Stuart, I still really enjoyed this series wholeheartedly.
If another version of this Trilogy comes out with those fixed corrections, it would be an instant 5 🌟 star from me.

Did I just read a rough draft?!
There were SO MANY TYPOS!
I just got fed up with the number of mistakes in this book—names being spelled multiple different ways, shifts in narration that don’t line up, missing punctuation or wrong pronunciation altogether, misspelled words, using the wrong word, etc. I could go on and on. I can overlook some typos (although it really takes away from the story), but this is just egregious.

Stuart, who is your editor????

I would definitely recommend part 1, but parts 2&3 of this trilogy were hard to read. Kind of like I love the first Wrong Turn but can’t watch the sequels. The storyline seemed off at times and I had to go back and reread parts for clarity. Sometimes I didn’t know whose POV I was reading. Was it Cedar Pine Motel or Central Pine?

Nope nope nope! Not for me. I thought I was going to be reading a true “horror story“ but what this actually is is a sick and perverted, pornographic blood fest not only was the story atrocious, sadistic and utterly disgusting but the editing was terrible. I checked out the book based off a couple of reader reviews… And I am not going to read anything further by this author. He’s got great reviews from a certain type of reader, but not me.

Love that we got a back story on The Freak, I would love a whole series of his life. Such a brutal intense character. This June Trilogy is one of my favourite series ever and I still randomly think of June at odd times like when I’m doing the dishes or walking my dogs 😄 .. that’s when you know how good the author is.
