Lottie Lemon has a brand new bakery to tend to, a budding romance with perhaps one too many suitors, and she has the supernatural ability to see the dead—which are always harbingers for ominous things to come. Lottie Lemon is a baker and owns her own shop. But she also sees dead people..well mostly the furry kind who come warning her of possible issues with their previous owners. She's headed to the library with treats that the librarian, her sister, called and asked for her to bring. An author stopped by and was having an impromptu signing. She lives in Honey Hollow and is famous for "tripping" over bodies just about every month. Now she is pregnant with her fiance's twins as well as mother to a 1 yr old from an old boyfriend. But it's all good. They all get along. Noah and Everett were at one time step brothers. Now that takes sharing to another whole level. Here she is at the library. When her mother sees who is there for the signing she hotfoots it out as fast as she can To make matters worse, as she gets to the library a lightening storm hits. Then is gone. She hears two women arguing then one comes out. She has a bad feeling about this! Well authors who seem to get along, the owner of her own publishing company who is now the murder victim. The bad part is that the author is closely related to quite a number of people in Honey Hollow. She's talking about her new book on mother issues. And in Honey Hollow there seems to be a lot of women and men who have those issues. To add to her misery an ex of her fiance/husband plans on marrying him. Mayhem, mischief and murder --a triple M production in effect. Add mother nature's show she's putting on and it feels more like Halloween instead of Thanksgiving! Will she be able to find the murderer in time? Will her life ever settle down? Will she and Everett ever be able to have a normal life??? A fast paced hilarious ride of a mystery that will enchant the reader.

Lottie Lemon is a baker in Honey Hollow, Vermont, who is able to see the ghost of deceased pets who come back to warn of their former owner’s impending death. When self-help author Claret Berkshire arrives for a book-signing event in the library, someone dies under suspicious circumstances. Lottie had followed a cute little dog through the stacks and, when she reached for it, the puppy disappeared and instead she noticed a pale hand leading to a dead body – which was holding a half-eaten slice of Lottie’s pumpkin spice cake! The victim’s facial skin was a light blue color – and Gwen Pemberley was definitely dead!
Hearing footsteps rushing up behind her, Lottie swings a dictionary hard enough to knock the man unconscious… or most likely dead? Noah Fox, Lottie’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her 1-year-old daughter, approaches to see what just happened and Lottie pointed at the body of the killer… only to have Noah say, “You killed Everett?!” Could things get any worse? Had she just killed her twin babies’ father! She accidentally kicks him in the shin as she tries to get herself off the floor, before Noah finally lets her know Everett is actually alive. But the woman is still dead.
And with uncovering lots of surprise relatives connected to the people in her life, and a bunch of family secrets, Lottie’s family tree is beginning to get some tangled branches! Will Lottie still look for the killer, despite her “condition”? Or will she let the police handle this one?
Addison Moore has truly outdone herself with this captivating series, solidifying her place as one of my favorite authors. Her versatility across multiple genres never fails to keep me eagerly anticipating her next release, even amidst a multitude of books within a series. What sets this series apart is the seamless cohesion between each installment, united by shared settings and beloved characters. With the assurance of standalone readability, readers can dive into any book without fear of cliffhangers—pure bliss!
This latest addition to the series delivers a compelling blend of romance and humor that had me laughing out loud and eagerly turning pages. From the very first sentence, I was hooked, unable to tear myself away. It's rare to find a book that evokes such a range of emotions, and this one truly had it all.
I wholeheartedly recommend picking up a copy of this book—it's well worth it and promises an enjoyable read from start to finish. With its engaging storyline and unforgettable characters, I'm eagerly anticipating delving further into this series and exploring Moore's other works. Once it captures your attention, this book refuses to let go, leaving you thoroughly engrossed until the very end.

After 49! books in the series, you might think that we know all the ins and outs of life in Honey Hollow. But in this Thanksgiving themed outing, Lottie’s world is rocked as more family secrets are revealed. A ghostly visitation from grandma Nell warning of evil kicks off the festivities. What secrets are about to be revealed by the best selling author with mommy issues? What has Carlotta running scared? And why is Everett so interested in DNA testing? Poor Lottie is already a hormonal mess with the twins gestating. But even eating for two won’t stop her from untangling the clues when the author’s agent is murdered. And no matter what Cressida’s “future analyst” says, Lottie isn’t planning on letting Everett go, even if Noah is still waiting in the wings.
Addison Moore’s cozy mysteries are always laugh out loud and page turning fun. Your head might be spinning from all the shenanigans Lottie and crew are navigating this time around. And you’ll definitely need a scorecard to keep track of who’s who along with where they fit on the twisted family trees. A heartwarming reconciliation of multiple generations is also thrown in to keep you on the toes. Book 50 can’t come too soon.

Pumpkin Cake Penances is the forty-ninth book in the Murder in the Mix series. Even that this book is part of a series and is best if read in order, as each story build on the previous. Don’t worry if you just stumbled on this series. You can read it as a stand alone book and be able to follow along. Lottie Lemon has a gift of seeing dead animal of those who will experience back luck soon, but lately deadly luck. Like all the books in this series, when Lottie sees a ghostly animal she knows death is soon to follow. Last minute a book tour comes to town and uses the library to hold an event. And of course in Honey Holly style everyone shows up, there are a large selection of Lottie’s treats from the bakery and a dead body. This book tour is full of surprises, not counting the death. Before the end of the book we will find out several secrets from the past and new ones that should help lead to the killer. Will little be able to piece things together in time or will she finally step back and let Noah take lead on the investigation and focus on the twins she is growing.
Brilliant ! Lottie Lemon the baker is here again , talking to people’s deceased pets who have some snippet to warn them about their previous owners . A ghostly visit from Grandma Nell warns of evil too. Lottie is expecting twins so is eating for two , when her sister the librarian asks Lottie to take some bakes there’s an author making her appearance as Lottie’s mum does a dash in the opposite direction. Funny her new book is Titled Mother issues…. There’s secrets and lies and someone’s demise. The townspeople and indeed Lottie’s family even Everett are affected. There’s a killer at large in Honey Hollow this Thanksgiving and Lottie is searching for clues to find the culprit before it’s too late. Great! It’s as cosy as a cuppa by the fireside on a cold winter’s night . Excellent prose with on the nose describing and solid depth to the established characters who are quirky and fun . Can’t wait till the next book . Bring it on!.

Our heroine can see the dead, but they never drop by to say something nice. This Thanksgiving features plenty of drama, mystery and a bit of murder. Guess she better get to work before the trail grows stale.
This book is part of a long running series, but each mystery is written as a standalone. Feel free to jump in at any time.
This is a cozy mystery with a Thanksgiving holiday setting. Which would be a lot of fun if it were not for the murder. Who am I kidding? That is just the sort of thing we are looking for.
The story is well written and easy to read with a twisted little setup that is lots of fun. The characters are well done and appropriately nuts, and I really love our heroine who is just trying to keep it all together. The mystery was a good one and everything moved at a nice pace providing a very enjoyable experience. Overall, a really fun story and I look forward to visiting our heroine again.
Highly recommended.

Honey Hollow is the busiest small town ever! With charming shops, and town activities the town finds itself in the middle of not only a baby boom, deep secrets and now include a murder. Solving this murder is uncovering so many secrets. In Lotties family, the women, including her 2 year old daughter, can see ghost animals. These adorable critters show up as a warning of an upcoming murder. They give Lottie and edge in collecting suspects. It is Noahs job and he tries to keep her out of it, but, Lottie seems to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time, leading to clues. She and Everett are expecting twins and this reader felt stuffed just reading the mass quantities of food, Guess I will be easily able to stick to my diet! The secrets being uncovered not only lead them to who committed the murder, but to secrets in Lottie, Everett, and their friends personal lives. Addison Moore has turned out a fantastic page turner you do not want to miss!.
I loved this book soooo much! There is so much that happens in this book, and sure enough another body is found murdered at a book signing. AND another lost relative of Lottie’s shows up – but could she be the killer?? Detective Lottie is on the case working her magic along with the deceased’s pet to solve it before another person ends up killed. Noah is getting blackmailed from someone that knows something he did a LONG time ago, and Everett finds evidence that he ALSO might have a relative that he didn’t know about! But I can’t tell you about that because OMG that woulda been CRAZY! Lol
The ending though…. Wow! I can’t wait to see how that plays out… Noah might be getting his chance again! Lol
I think it would be really funny if we started getting a chapter from Lyla Nell’s POV..

Lottie has a lot on her plate. She has twins on the way, Lyla Nell is going to be 2 soon and she is getting ready for Thanksgiving. There is yet another murder and she is trying to figure out who did it. She has the help of a cute dog that Lyla Nell keeps insisting is hers. Both Everett and Noah have new things pop up that they are keeping a secret from Lottie. Everett's is a big one and it seems he will need to wait patiently to find out if his worst fears are going to be realized. I knew that there was someone connected to Lottie that was coming to bring chaos to her life. Nell pretty much let it be known. There is a lot of baggage in Lottie's family and hurt feelings and acting out seem to span a few generations. I was entertained and read this in one sitting. I did like how Noah and Everett came clean with their problems and didn't just try to hide them for months. I am still hopeful that this love triangle will come to an end soon.
Addison has done it again with Lottie and the gang. She has written another awesome book in the series. I love that these can all be stand alone reads but it is best to read the entire series.
In this book we have lots of things going on. It is Thanksgiving and there is a books signing at the library. Of course things go wrong and there is a murder during the even. Even though Lottie says that because she is pregnant and does not want anything to happen to the babies she will stand down, a good murder mystery draws her in and she cant help herself but try to solve it. Lot of great twist and turns in this one. So go pick it up and enjoy the read.

Twisty Story with Zany Characters The book is fun, but there are so many characters that it is hard to keep track of who is who. Also, since so many of them are involved romantically with each other or have been in the past, one must assume that their offspring will need to move away from Honey Hollow to have a relationship with someone not closely related to them! The mystery itself was interesting and kept me reading to the end. If you enjoy a funny, twisty story with plenty of zany characters, you will probably enjoy this book. Deadly Thanksgiving - It's Thanksgiving in Honey Hollow and Lottie racks up a murder victim, new family members and a lot of extra poundage due to the two hoovers in her belly. Not how she intended to spend the holiday season, but it would be a coup to put another criminal behind bars while eating her weight in sweets and festival food. A fun read with delightfully kooky characters, right down to the heavenly pooch helping to find his mistress's murderer and little Lyla Nell screaming "mine" at every turn.

There's a warning from Nell, a death at a book signing, increasingly strange behavior by Lottie’s two husbands, Carlotta's scary beard, and new family members coming out of the woodwork. Carrying twins, Lottie's appetite is keeping pace with her expanding waistline. Thanksgiving is approaching with all of its deliciousness but the dead body in the room might interfere with her upcoming foodfest.
This is a fun cozy mystery with twists, turns, and hilarity! I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
After 49 books, you'd imagine that someone would get sick of a series. However, you'd be wrong. Each book in this series brings something new to the table. Either a new character, or two. Some new element that keeps it fresh and exciting. This book is no different. Now, I don't like to give away what happens in the story in my reviews, so all I'm gonna say is this book is phenomenal. I loved the characters, the plot and the author's writing style. It all blended together seamlessly to create a story that kept me engaged from beginning to end. I look forward to seeing what comes next.
Lottie Lemon, baker and detective extraordinaire! The past has a way of coming back to knock you on your behind sometimes. In this, the 49th Murder in the Mix book, the past comes roaring in, bringing with it a ton of secrets. With a murder to solve and pregnancy hormones at every turn, Lottie has her hands full. Everett's keeping secrets, Thanksgiving is on its way, and there's a killer to catch. Will Noah be able to solve this one before Lottie, or will she uncover the clues and find the killer first?
This is the 49th book in the Murder in the Mix series, each book can be read a standalone and as I have only read a few books earlier in the series I did get a bit lost as everything has moved forward but I was able to catch up in no time. I quite enjoyed reading this book and now I wonder why I haven't continued with it but I'm going to go back to the beginning and read the series from the start with my KU subscription. I highly recommend!.

I've been reading Murder in the Mix books for over a month now - all of them in order. For some reason, this book did not hold my interest. Re-read much of it 2 or 3 times. I usually read at least a book a day. Now I am a senior woman but I am not aware of anything that was impeding my concentration. All I can say is that this book did not hold my interest as previous books have done. But I read it and ultimately enjoyed the tale.
This is 49th book in the Murder in the Mix series. Each book can be read a standalone. Things have progressed quite a lot and Lottie is now pregnant and eating enough for a village. There is a murder to solve and some fun subplots...and lots of food. This is one of my favorite series because it is so much fun.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Claret has come to town promoting her new and very controversial book. At her book signing at the library, Lottie stumbles across a dead body. As if Lottie doesn't have enough on her plate, now she is searching for a killer and navigating more than her fair share of family drama while trying to run her bakery! This book is full of quirky characters and every one of them has secrets! Can Lottie ever figure this all out? A really fun read!
An impromptu book signing reunites Lottie with her grand-mother. However, there’s loads of bad energy between Claret and the rest of her family that needs to be taken out before Lottie can again solve another death in her hometown … but in the end Lottie and her huge family have a lot to be thankful for ;-)).

I had never read this author when I chose this book. It sounded like it would be funny and interesting, and wowee was it! I didn't realize there are fifty books in this series. Now I know what I will be doing for the next few months! I just can't tell you how pleased I was with this book. It ended up being the perfect book at the perfect time for me. Thank you Addison. I am grateful for your amazing gift.
Lottie Lemon seems determined to get tangled in a murder mystery, or several- as if her romance life, and the crazy extended family connections related to her beaux were not hilarious and filled with drama and mayhem enough!
deadly drama, humor and lots of fun romance and crazy relatives so easy to laugh at , because you are so glad they belong to someone else- and they are sure to make you cringe and chuckle because they just might remind you of some of your own connections
This kept me on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out all the moving pieces to the murder mystery as well as the family mysteries. Lots of players, loads of information and revelations. Never fear Lottie Lemon is on the case and in the midst of all the chaos surrounding this Honey Hollow cozy. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Honey Hollow is the most delightful small town. This book was fun, witty and full on entertainment with the perfect blend of humot and mystery. I loved the colorful, quirky characters. The recipes were a great bonus. I definitely recommend. A must read.

Although we’re all waiting for Noah to find his true love other than Lottie. He still pathetic and solving cases considering he is the lead detective they all jump to conclusions too easily and they don’t think but they’re all quite hilarious. I look forward to reading these episodes.
Lottie returns with another adventure in Honey Hollow. This time it’s Thanksgiving and along with that is the return of secrets that maybe should have stayed a secret. But no worries should be felt as Lottie will figure out the murder and mysteries with the secrets.
More revelations about Lottie’s parentage and lineage come to the fore, while a library book-signing event is the scene of Honey Hollow’s latest unnatural death.
More secrets abound with the Thanksgiving holiday and who knew even Carlotta had a mother?Addison goes all out and leaves you guessing till the end. A who dun it for the who dun it enthusiasts!
There were lots of family ties revealed and questioned. I was hooked from the beginning of the book. Lottie is awesome to follow as she investigates the mysterious world around her.
