Aeneas: Virgil's Epic Retold for Younger Readers

Rate this book
Two thousand years ago the Roman poet Virgil related the adventures of a hero called Aeneas. He was a man who escaped from the burning ruins of Troy and, "driven by fate", led his people to a new home in a distant land.
The story of Aeneas and the founding of Rome has the excitement and adventure, magic and romance, humor and sadness. Emily Frenkel's retelling is fresh and direct.

The stories were good. can't go wrong with any mythology. It's only hard keeping track of all the names. Seems like everyone is related.

I read this to my kids over many days as a bedtime ritual. My 8-year-old is always excited for "Aeneas time". My 11-year-old is now going to read a retold version of Iliad. I enjoyed the book too.
