The Baltimore Boys #5

The Bossy Billionaire

Rate this book
The minute I found out my real identity, things were never the same.

Now I have a bookshop on the brink of bankruptcy and I have no idea how to get my shop profitable, until my brother's best friend shows up to be my new business coach.

Huxley Hamilton is a billionaire who is smart and sauve with women falling at his feet. He is also frustrating, infuriating, bossy and a playboy, his reputation precedes him wherever he goes.

He shows an interest in my bookshop as a favor to my brother, but I don’t need his help, his annoying smirk or the feeling of butterflies that dance inside of me whenever he is around. We don’t see eye to eye at first but then the tables turn when he starts taking an interest in me. His hand fits too well around my waist, his protectiveness feels exactly like what I have been missing and he pushes me to do things that are well out of my comfort zone.

But the magnetic attraction we have stalls when one of his ex’s comes back into town. You know what they say, once a playboy, always a playboy.

Except now I know how to play the game. I just don’t know all the players and I think they are all after me.

Part 5

2,5 😔🤔⭐️s

I expected more… 🤷🏻‍♀️

The hero’s grief and guilt regarding his breakup with his ex was frustrating.
The drama with the ex towards the end was exasperating.

The romance was fine but overall the story was predictable and could have been better developed.

Bookseller and the Playboy

Lucy has been in charge of her parent’s bookstore since the hit and run accident that took their lives. She even found out that the wonderful people who raised her were not her biological parents and that she is actually part of a very wealthy family.

Huxley is a self-made billionaire who is stunned by the beautiful young woman who interrupted her brother and his best friend’s board meeting, knowing she was something special.

This book is an interesting story and a good romance, but it started slow, is filled with cringe worthy spice-filled dialogue, and maybe just a tad too much drama to be a five star read for me. Four stars.

I just did not like this book at all. For me, the writing style wasn’t great; a lot of it was clunky and repetitive, and the speech tags were unnecessarily complicated and often didn’t fit with the dialogue. It took me right out of the book, to be honest, and I began to find it distracting. As a whole, I thought the book needed a really good edit.

Plot-wise, I found it all over the place. The suspense subplot was about as subtle as a hammer; it was very obvious who the villains were, and one of them was so cartoonishly ‘bad’ that I didn’t understand how Lucy, the FMC, didn’t tell anyone about it. Some of the suspense scenes were actually very creepy and well-written, but the plot as a whole let it down. In addition, the drama near the end involving Amy didn’t make much sense. It wasn’t even really miscommunication – there was just no communication in a way that didn’t make sense for the characterisation of either Lucy or Huxley. It felt rushed and confused.

I also didn’t like a lot of the attitude from Huxley about Lucy’s leg injury. I found him pushy and the way this was approached left a bad taste in my mouth. Likewise, whilst great pains were taken to say he didn’t care, his attitude about came across badly, too.

Also, this book relied really heavily on having read other books in this series. There was too much emphasis on characters and plot from previous books that weren’t really explained fully. I felt very much kept in the dark about certain things that had clearly traumatised the characters in the past.

The romance was actually fine, and was the main reason I kept on reading. It wasn’t my favourite but the chemistry was good and I wanted to know what happened between them. I actually liked the way that the tropes in this book played out, and there were some good scenes between Lucy and Huxley.

But, overall, this book just didn’t work for me. The plot was very messy and obvious and the writing just wasn’t great. The book felt rushed and a bit jumbled. Unfortunately, I just don’t think this author’s work is my kind of thing.

Content Notes: Billionaire MMC, brother’s best friend / best friend’s sister, forced proximity, opposites attract.

Lucy is the last Rotshild sibling and this is hers and Huxley's book.

Lucy Bloomer was just a normal girl who worked in a bookstore that had been in her family for years. After she finds out the truth about her parentage, all of a sudden she is surrounded by 4 overbearing brothers who want to take care of her and make her life easier all the time.

Now she is struggling to keep her bookstore open and she needs help. Well, the solution to her problems is the perfect mentor - enter Huxley. He is a very handsome and attractive businessman and, most importantly her older brother's best friend.

I really loved this couple. Lucy is very strong-willed, and she has her own vision of how to improve her shop. Huxley, on the other hand, is determined to help her, but he still has a different opinion on how to fix the bookstore. These two had a lot of angst between themselves, and they butted heads on how to approach the problem. On the other hand, the sparks between them were flying all the time and the attraction was very strong. For him, she was off limits, and he was warned beforehand not to start anything with her. But seeing another side of her every single day, bit by bit, he starts falling for her. Even though he still remembers how his ex-fiance left him, he finds out that Lucy is different, and she is worth fighting for.

At first, she didn't accept his help gladly, but his determination shows her that he is indeed a good and caring person. She can't help her feelings and falls hard for him.

Their love scenes were very hot and steamy, and I loved them. The conclusion to the undeniable attraction was written really well and the spice was worth it.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading "The Bossy Billionaire".

4.5 ⭐️ 2.5 🌶️

I reallyyyyyy enjoyed this read.

Huxley is a no-nonsense, bossy, sexy billionaire. He’s asked by his best friend to help his sister with her failing business. Lucy is sweet, kind and utterly smitten with the brooding male assigned to help her save her beloved bookstore.

This slowburn took me by surprise. The chemistry wasn’t an instant thing but it built into something fierce and I loved every second of this tension filled romance. I really enjoyed the underlying plot and the way the author wrapped it all together.

I adore Lucy. Everything she’s had to endure; my heart breaks for her. Book 5 was a little stagnant, I’ll be honest. I love how with every book, there’s some crazy plot twist & something super dramatic happens. This book had that, but it just seemed rushed & anticlimactic. I mean, the book is still good. I absolutely ate it up, as usual. But it was stagnant.

Bossy Billionaire😉

Bossy Billionaire is the next story in the Baltimore Boys series and features a Rothschild sibling that they have all just discovered exists. Lucy is a half sibling to these billionaires, but is still figuring everything out. Upon learning something that her brothers have done…she storms into their conference room and confronts them, only to realise they are with Tanner, Connor and Huxley…awkward🙈

Harrison asks Huxley to be a business coach to Lucy and help her with Bloomers, the book shop she owns. However, the attraction between them is tangible and they soon blur the lines between professional and personal😍

A great story with some anxiety inducing moments but loved Huxley and Lucy❣️

Have you ever read a story that you never wanted to end? Well this book here is a prime example!

We met Lucy in The Secret Billionaire, not knowing she is actually a Rothschild and her new path just beginning. She is certainly passionate about her work and family, Bloomer’s Books being her priority and connection to her parents. She enjoys creating a space for her patrons and is very protective of its character. Lucy is also someone who can be adorably stubborn and one you can never be mad at. She has a big heart and is down to earth. Her self esteem and bravery has been subdued a little due to the hospital fire that resulted in her limp, but she is still a quiet force to be reckoned with.

Huxley exudes business acumen, owning and managing a portfolio of successful investments. He is best friends with Harrison and a dependable and loyal person. He might have a reputation as a play boy, but we soon learn there is a backstory to that as he is afraid of abandonment and not feeling worthy. However, Huxley is willing to push buttons and is goal oriented. He will not back down from a challenge. Underneath the prim
suite though is also a man who loves his family, will take the time to listen, and will do what he can to help others. He puts in his all and is someone you want by your side.

These two! I really couldn’t help but smile throughout this story. Even when there was more emotional moments, their story exuded warmth and comfort. They had the perfect banter and their chemistry was palpable the moment Lucy barges into that boardroom, and you can tell how head over heels Huxley falls at that moment for this pocket pocket. Even when Huxley is bossy and the two of them might be bickering, he makes moments so swoonworthy. Every interaction and thought this couple has about the other really makes you see how they care for the other and the connection is palpable. There’s secret messages, subtle hints, grand gestures and just every day normal moments that happen that yet feel so right and special with these two. They definitely make each other (and the reader) feel at peace, and I can easily say they are one of my favorite couples of all time!

What I also loved about this book was seeing the return of our beloved Baltimore boys and their kickass queens. It was comedic seeing how overbearing and protective they guys were in their own unique ways over Lucy and how the women were like a girl gang supporting her in every way even when they’ve only known her for a short while, but it also makes you remember just why you fell in love with these characters in the first place. Their familial bonds was the icing on the cake for this story as it felt like that excitement you get when seeing Easter eggs popping up here and there. Moreover, I wonder if we will get stories of some side characters that make appearances. I feel like Valerie, Connor and Hudson have stories to tell—is Valerie the MC of the Billionaire Babe??

Along with lovable characters we also get a story with a bit of suspense. Someone is threatening Lucy and we do get hints early on of who it might be. It still turns out to be a shocker though when the dots are connected and shattering moments occur. The author definitely did a great job balancing these elements with the romance and the pacing of the story was on point. Never was there a dull moment and I couldn’t put the book down. I’m also glad we got that short bonus scene. Happy tears overload!

As you can tell from my word dump, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Samantha Skye just keeps getting better and better, creating characters and stories that I’ll definitely hold close and dear.

I had two reactions during and after reading this. At first I was happy Lucy was getting her happily ever after and was into it but then after a while I lost a little interest. It wasn’t enough to not finish the book or give it a lower rating, but to the point where I started to go through the chapters more slowly. In reading the other reviews after just barely touching the surface in the book I realize what the lower reviews were saying and understand it to a degree. The consensus I picked up from those reviews was that there was too much focus on Lucy’s leg and too much involvement of the other Rothschild’s. I agree, there was way too much concern over Lucy’s leg and was used as a crutch and burden. At the same time, it was the source of some trauma she dealt with and I’m fine with addressing that, it should be something that gets brought up but it was used as a weakness of hers and she is anything but that. Her leg concerns were made a bigger deal than it needed to be. There could be some focus on it but not hard conversations and arguments over it. Then there was the denial from both Lucy and Huxley that there should be more between them which dragged on too. In reading about Lucy’s stubbornness and Huxley’s lack of full commitment, mixed with respecting the Rothschild’s wishes, there was too many setbacks that took over the story. I felt this carried the book, hindering the ability for Huxley and Lucy to move forward and start a relationship. In order for Lucy and Huxley to become involved, Lucy needed to let her brothers do their thing, to help her and support her and she also needed to let go of the control she felt she had to have on her situation and her life. Fear was holding her back and it is what drove most of her stubbornness and inability to let anyone in. After a while it got tiring and I got sick of it. Meanwhile, Huxley was driven by his need to not betray Harrison and was too focused on that and his own commitment issues because his ex messed him up terribly by leaving without notice so he lost his trust in women and himself. It was basically a story of loss and trust which is not normally what you would think of when you think of a romance. Bottom line is, you had a good plot, passionate and intense intimacy with great sex and enough drama that it makes you forget about those personal issues Huxley and Lucy had. It just wasn’t enough to give this a 5 for me and when my interest in the story waned, so did my rating. I also kind of ruined some of the plot for myself too because the review I read, gave away more information than I was thinking, even though it clearly said spoilers included. I already knew who was going to be the villain in the story and Huxley even cements that thought by saying something about how this person rubbed him the wrong way and he just had this bad feeling about them so it was no surprise when it was revealed. I’m mad I took that shock factor and reaction away from myself. All I saw was the signs with every interaction between this person. A good thing came out of this series though, aside from getting to know the Rothschild’s. I think they may be one of my favorite billionaire families. Other than that, I finally got an introduction to the Whispers series by this same author and now I know what that family is about and can move forward with reading about them next in the near future, after the nice surprise that is Valerie getting her own story within the Rothschild world.

This is book five in a series that I haven't read. It's about an insanely rich family of brothers, and woman named Lucy who was raised elsewhere and only found out about her brothers as an adult. She's been injured in a fire and there is some stalker trouble, as well as some obvious suspects. The MMC is a friend of the brothers, also rich and bossy.

It was OK for a one-time read but not sure I'll be returning to the series. Quite a few plot points depend upon stubbornly not-talking about important things that the reader knows they should definitely talk about. Sometimes they're not-talking to the point of absolute idiocy. Like there were some harmful incidents that might have been avoided altogether if the FMC mentioned a few things to people who could help.

And I think the misogynistic hands-off-our-sister trope needs to die. Here it's especially insane when it's four brothers menacing the MMC, and they've not even been raised together. This random woman was found to have a blood tie with them and now they think it means they get to regulate who she can have sex with.

I have not read the brothers' romances but I would bet the farm that none of them ever thought they needed Lucy 's permission to marry or to initiate sexual relations with anybody, casual or otherwise.

But her brothers think it's their right to forbid Huxley and Lucy's intimate relationship and eventually Huxley asks for her brother's permission to marry her. Before asking her if she even wants to.
For fig's sake! She's a grown woman and her brothers are not the boss of her.

I don't know, I think this trope treats the woman as less-than. The only person whose permission Huxley needs in order to date or marry Lucy should be Lucy. It's not the year 1300 anymore, women are not to be treated as subjects to their male guardians' dominion.

A minor detail that I was stuck on for longer than I like to say. It was not important in the big picture but it was in the last chapter so it is fresh in my memory and I'm going to mention it.

Huxley had used the numbers 12 and 2 to denote her initials (LB, for the twelfth and the second letter of the alphabet. Then his phone's passcode is 2566637, and supposedly by the same code it means "Bloomer", her last name. But it only spells Bloomer if we're using a different code code from the old cell phone num pads in which 2 was ABC, 3 was DEF, 4 was GHI and so on. If our code is using the numbers to denote the order of the letters in the alphabet, then 2566637 works out as BEFFFCG.

Steam level: some sexual content

The Bossy Billionaire by Samantha Skye is an unforgettable romance that you won't want to end. This story, featuring the last Rothschild sibling, Lucy, and her charmingly infuriating business coach, Huxley, is a beautiful mix of wit, passion, and heart.

Lucy Bloomer, a woman who only recently discovered her true parentage, is struggling to keep her beloved family bookstore from bankruptcy. Her world gets turned upside down again when her overprotective brothers send in the perfect solution: Huxley Hamilton. Huxley, a smart and suave billionaire with a playboy reputation, is a challenging but necessary presence in Lucy’s life.

From their first meeting, their chemistry is undeniable. Lucy is strong-willed and stubborn, with a fierce passion for her bookstore. Huxley, on the other hand, is a goal-oriented and bossy businessman with a different vision for her shop's future. The initial clashes and witty banter only fuel the sparks between them, and it's not long before their professional relationship turns personal.

Underneath his confident exterior, Huxley is a man with a backstory, afraid of abandonment but willing to fight for what he wants. He quickly realizes that Lucy is different, and she's worth putting his fears aside for. Lucy, in turn, finds that Huxley's bossy nature is softened by a caring and protective side that she never knew she was missing. Their love scenes are hot, steamy, and perfectly written, a testament to their undeniable attraction.

What makes this book so special is the warmth and comfort that exudes from their story. The connection between Lucy and Huxley is palpable, filled with swoon-worthy moments, secret messages, and grand gestures that make every interaction feel special.

Beyond the romance, the book is enriched by the presence of the other beloved Rothschild siblings and their partners. Their overbearing, yet loving, nature provides a fantastic backdrop of familial bonds. The story also includes a surprising twist of romantic suspense as someone begins to threaten Lucy, adding a layer of danger that keeps the pace exciting and engaging.

Samantha Skye has created a story with characters you will hold close to your heart, and the romance between Lucy and Huxley will leave you with happy tears and a feeling of peace. It's a perfect blend of steam, heart, and suspense, showcasing why Samantha Skye continues to get better and better.

A thrilling blend of business, romance, and unexpected twists awaits readers in Samantha Skye's "The Bossy Billionaire," the fifth instalment of "The Baltimore Boys" series. This enchanting tale takes us on a rollercoaster journey, introducing Lucy Bloomer, a half-sister to the Rothschild brothers, who finds herself at the helm of her adoptive family's struggling bookshop, Bloomers Books.

Huxley Hamilton, a typical playboy billionaire with a tragic love story, steps in as Lucy's business coach, setting the stage for dynamics that shift from frustrating clashes to an undeniable magnetic attraction. Skye's engaging writing, filled with vivid descriptions, breathes life into each scene and character. The chemistry between Lucy and Huxley is palpable, with tension and anticipation skillfully woven throughout the narrative.

Lucy's character development, from an independent yet struggling business owner to someone willing to step out of her comfort zone and accept help, is both believable and inspiring. Charismatic and layered with a tragic past, Huxley Hamilton brings depth to the romantic plot. The push and pull between the protagonists keep readers invested in their evolving journey.

As Lucy navigates the challenges of managing Bloomers Books, including her older brother's presidential campaign and the reappearance of past lovers, the behind-the-scenes workings of a bookstore add a refreshing dimension to the storyline. Incorporating these challenges adds intrigue, making the narrative a captivating blend of romance and unexpected events.

While the central romance is captivating, the introduction of Amy, Huxley's ex-fiance, introduces an element of suspense and surprising turns. The revelation about suspicious characters, though somewhat predictable, takes an exciting twist with Amy's unexpected involvement.

Overall, "The Bossy Billionaire" stands out as a masterfully crafted tale, exploring personal growth, unexpected love, and the complexities of managing business and matters of the heart. Samantha Skye delivers a captivating narrative that keeps readers hooked, making this instalment of "The Baltimore Boys" series thoroughly enjoyable.

This is book five in The Baltimore Boy’s series and it is Lucy and Huxley’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Lucy own’s Bloomers Book Store which she inherited from her parents who were killed in a hit and run and to Lucy it is her life and sanctuary because her adopted parents built it up and kept it going and it holds so many beautiful memories so Lucy is determined to keep it going but business is slow and she doesn’t have the money to do the constant upkeep but still determined to keep moving forward especially after her own accident that caused her leg to be severely damaged and also she had found out that she has four brother’s that she didn’t know about and they are all prominent men in Baltimore and also Rothchild and they keep trying to put there noses in her business and now she needs to deal with them. Huxley is a friend of the Rothchild family and they are all really close but Huxley doesn’t do relationships or commitments anymore after his fiancé Amy walked out on him without any communication or reason so now he just plays the field does one night stands and buys up businesses which is just the way he likes it. When Lucy and Huxley meet there attraction and chemistry is instant and strong but Huxley had been warned off from her brothers and saying that she is off limits and all Huxley is allowed to do is help Lucy with her business and give her advice because she will not let her brothers help her as she is stubborn and wants to do things on her own. When Lucy and Huxley's chemistry becomes undeniable and they eventually come together it is totally explosive and sparks fly all around them and just when things are going great danger and complications arrive and it is targeting Lucy but will they be able to find and contain the threat and bring them to justice before they can take away Lucy and Huxley's happiness and future. Wow this book certainly takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions that will have you in tears while still turning the pages because you need to see what would happen next and what the outcome will be for Lucy and Huxley in the end. This book was so addictive and I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series. Samantha Skye is an amazing author and writer and her books are definitely worth reading and you will not be disappointed.

The Bossy Billionaire is book five of the Baltimore Boys series by Samantha Skye.

I have been so excited about this book, especially after all the hinting and the bombshell ending of book four! While this book could be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading at least the previous book if you haven't already, if not read the whole series. I feel that there would be a number of small nuggets of information that helps fit everything together.

At the end of book four, we found out that the Rothschild brothers (one of whom is a US Senator ready to make his run for the White House) have a half sister. The brothers are super close but they had a strained relationship with both their parents, their mother in particular caused issues for the four brothers.

That sister is Lucy Bloomer, who was given up for adoption at birth. She adored her adoptive parents but lost them in a hit and run accident. The story picks up a couple years after the events of the fourth book and Lucy is running her parents' book shop and fighting her uber rich brothers to butt out of her life and business, although she loves each of the men and their spouses. It is her brothers that send billionaire and business consultant Huxley Hamilton her way.

Huxley is best friends to Lucy's oldest brother, but all four of the Rothschild brothers have warned him away from their sister. Huxley was hurt a few years ago when his fiancé walked out on him without a single word. He hasn't had it in him to get into another serious relationship, which is why Lucy should be off limits. However, their connection and attraction is undeniable.

Between being her business mentor, helping at the book store, encouraging Lucy with her injured leg, trying to figure out if Lucy is in danger, Huxley begins to get to know the fiery and independent woman for who she really is. Lucy also realises that there is a lot more to Huxley as well. But between business and family, there is more than enough drama that it had me eagerly flying through this book.

Oh my this is such an excellent exciting read! Lucy discovers she has 4 very rich half brothers after her adoptive parents die. They are overprotective and try to take over her life and her bookstore. She goes to give them a piece of her mind and meets Huxley. The electricity between them gives them both a jolt. Will Lucy be the one for the playboy? Can Lucy accept help from Hyxley while keeping her heart protected? Does Huxley finally figure out what Lucy means to him and get to her in time to protect her from the danger that's near? Would Lucy and Huxley get through the secrets, misunderstandings, and danger to enjoy a life together forever? I TOTALLY recommend this 5⭐++ winner to get the answers to these questions and so much more. I couldn't put it down. I'd give it 20⭐s if I could. This ebook has it all...danger, secrets, misunderstandings, twists and turns, steamy sizzling explosive encounters, and love. So, what do you get when you add a suspicious employee, a sleazy business neighbor, and a ghost like ex? Why you get so much more spice than you can handle that you'll need a fire extinguisher to put out the spice. Whew!🔥😁🔥 This amazingly very talented author deserves a standing ovation for her outstanding writing. She grabs hold of your emotions and has your attention from the beginning and doesn't let go. Her descriptive writing has you so involved in her characters lives that you find yourself giving them advice or maybe a good talking to. Boy, I sure did have words for Lucy and Huxley. Lucy girl, you gotta quit keeping people at a distance and keeping secrets from them. Huxley omg you run because things get tough? Man up and go fight for Lucy.😁 I encourage you to get this outstanding ebook to find out if they both really listened to me. I know without a doubt that you will love this surefire winner as much as I do. You will not be disappointed I guarantee it!!😁❤.

Huxley is Harrison Rothschild's best friend, and Lucy is the recently discovered half sister to the Rothschild family. We've met Lucy in Eddie and Katie's story when she was trying to find out more about her biological family.
Whilst the Rothschild's are fully embracing of their sister, she finds it all overwhelming and is trying to come to terms with it all.
Lucy runs Bloomers Books, which, although popular, is not making any money.
She and Huxley 'meet' at a meeting she interrupts. The family think that Huxley would be the perfect person to show her how to turn the business around. Lucy isn't convinced; she's stubborn and doesn't like change.
Neither of them are looking for a relationship; Huxley has been hurt in the past and Lucy doesn't have time, even though they are attracted to each other; they both have baggage, emotional and physical.

The ongoing storyline of Harrison's presidency continues, running alongside other plotlines, and we catch up with the rest of the Rothschild family.

An easy read that kept me engaged from beginning to end.

The main characters in this book are similar to those of another book in this series. The main female character is too stubborn and keeps things to herself that she should be talking about with others. The main male character gets upset with her for keeping things to herself and saying she’s fine, and goes and does it himself. The main female character puts herself down too much, just like the main female character in the other book.

The same as in the other story the author makes an earnest attempt at trying to add a mystery element to the romance. The villains in this book are obvious and it strange that no one picked up on it. The police investigate some of the incidents but no one puts together the connection to her parents death? Somehow only the main male characters investigator can figure out the other villains crimes in the past? It seems too far fetched.

The book needed to be edited a few more times. There were several places where contractions weren't used that made the dialogue and writing choppy.

After the main characters have sex the first time they end up having sex a lot. They go from using condoms to not. The book also introduces kinks later on. When the main female character does something that gets him upset he spanks her in the back of the car.

Where this story is a stand alone in a series, it references events from the other books without explaining them enough for a reader to understand.

Lucy, unlike her three brothers didn't grow up with money, so is thrown into the limelight. Despite the difficulties that she faces, she deals with them with bravery, stoicism and grace. When her brothers send their best friend, Huxley to be her business coach she is polite, firm and friendly. Determined not to be bowled over she puts her defences up to prevent herself from being another one of his one night stands.

Huxley has been completely focused on his businesses since his fiancee left him two years ago out of the blue without a word. Set on never being hurt again he has become the epitome of a playboy enjoying meaningless flings. That is until he meets his best friend's sister and then his world is changed forever.

A wonderful, heartfelt romance between two likeable but damaged individuals. This has plenty of misunderstandings, angst, potential dangers, over protective brothers and overwhelming passion. Another fabulous story in the series.

Finally done with this series.

Actually giving this series and book a solid 2.5. The best of the best of the 5 were book 1 and book 5. All had the same damsel in distress theme where women who were smart and capable needed a man to push them forward to succeed. The Rothschild were an interesting bunch but drama popped up near the ending causing self doubt among the women including this one. Much I had to skim became only the themes were changed. Everything else was repeated. The only reason to complete this series at all was the author gave time to issues like disabilities among adults and children, spousal and child abuse and literacy needs. Those topics were handled very well which is why I gave the 3. In this book I did enjoy the way Huxley treated the h. The wedding at the end was good since no one else got one, major error was in book 1 about the awkward married to Harrison, her water joke but no baby was brought up again. Will probably not choose this author again

The Bossy Billionaire is the 5th book in The Baltimore Boys series. This is Lucy and Huxley's story with the FMC being the only Rothschild daughter and the MMC being the best friend to Harrison Rothschild, the oldest. You get to reconnect with the siblings and their better halves through out the story and not only is it a billionaire romance but also an age gap, insta-love with her brothers best friend and throw in some suspense with a HEA and you have a well written 4 star book.

Lucy Bloomer owner of Bloomers Book store has a slight limp due to an accident last year and around that same time she found out she was adopted and that she is actually a Rothschild so, now she has 4 overbearing, overprotective brothers.

Huxley Hamilton is a New York Billionaire and is a Finance Coach. He has been sent by the Rothschild brothers to go to Bloomers Books to update and improve the business but Lucy is not having any of it.

Luce and Huxe butt heads because she doesn't want to change what her parents built but she's having a hard time paying the bills. They start talking every day on the phone but then someone starts following and attacking her. Huxley, secretly takes her to his ranch while they try and figure out who is behind what's happening.

With new locks and security the 2 new lovebirds are giving the press a field day and especially when someone from his past shows up and wants her out of the picture for good.

I want to thank Samantha Skye and Booksprout for my digital copy and in return I voluntarily leave an honest review.

Lucy & Huxley's story was a lot of fun. She's just learned she's related to the richest, most famous family in the country and he is...well is is also one of the richest men in the country. He's also one of her brother's best friends and her new business coach.

And so dang bossy!!

They hit it off instantly, and by instantly I mean that she was prickly and he was annoyed, but also intrigued. This was a fun love story with a bit of a slow burn and I enjoyed every minute of it. The way Huxley was so smitten with Lucy was really hot, and so sweet & swoony. This story has heat, sweet and a bit of intrigue and it all worked really well together.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it read kind of stilted in parts with the distinct lack of contractions. Maybe I just use them too much in speech but it threw me off a few times, but it didn't turn me off the story.

This is the fifth book in the Baltimore Boys Series and is Huxley Hamilton's story. A great addition to the series that can be read as a standalone, but for more enjoyment, I recommend reading the prior books. Lucy Bloomer, a half-sister to the Rothschild brothers, is now running her adoptive family's bookshop, Bloomers Books. She's struggling to keep it afloat after their death and the fire. Her half brother brings in his good friend Huxley to give her business advice. Lucy was introduced in book four when the brothers find out they have a half sister who was given up for adoption. She was a strong personality and he was a billionaire player. It was fun to watch their slow burn romance develop. A great book that was hard to put down once I started reading it. This author’s books are usually excellent and this one similarly DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! Awesome book as always, but this time, I love it for reasons I haven’t ever seen from this author! When we meet the heroine, she has a limp, she is dressed in clothes that are oversized and uncomplimentary and she wears round spectacles that have thick lenses! Thank you to Samantha Skye for seeing and sharing the beauty that is Lucy despite all that I just mentioned, not to mention the hero who also quickly sees past these outward imperfections! Lastly good news, its has 54 chapters plus an epilogue AND and is not necessarily a quick read unless of course you HAD to finish it in one sitting like me! These are the kind of books, you want to immediately reread!

“You are priceless…”

Samantha Skye has done it again! 5 f**ckin stars for Huxley and Lucy!

The end of the last book before this one was released is something to look forward to. Lucy makes her debut in Eddie and Katie's book. Sure, this book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading all the books in this series. Each Rothschild brother is perfect in their own way.

At first I wasn't sure about Huxley and Lucy's chemistry... the first few chapters went on slow for these two, but when moves were made and lines were blurred—it was combustible!

I mean... who wouldn't want a s€xy billionaire CEO and a small town rancher all rolled into one?! And Lucy—she was relatable in her grief and in her love of books and siblings.

I highly recommend this book! Swoon-worthy to the max!

This was a good story, in line with the Rothschild brothers stories as expected. However, it seemed that the Rothschild brothers (and wives) kept overtaking this story; there were more family interactions it seemed than the building relationship between Huxley and Lucy. Finally! There was more romantic relationship near the end (which was overdue!) and the ending came with a big crash (literally), and then the HEA was all set. It just seemed that it took a long time to get there! The story is worth reading, especially if you've read the previous Baltimore Boys stories, you will be staying current with what is going on in the family.

The only thing Lucy has left of her adopted parents are memories and the Bloomer book store. She is determined to keep it going even though she is struggling. The store is barely breaking even. She is still in pain from an injury she received from a fire and she does not want to be a burden to her newly found brothers, the Rothschilds. Huxley is commitment shy since his ex walked out on him without any explanations, but he can't help but be drawn to Lucy. I loved how when it finally came down to Lucy getting hit from all sides, she found the strength to stand up for herself and make the changes she needed to do. Add in the suspense when Lucy is threatened, makes The Bossy Billionaire and great addition to the series.

A Sudden Family of Billionaire Brothers!!

Lucy Bloomer runs Bloomer books she inherited from her adopted family. She recently discovered the Rothschilds are her half brothers. They are a bit overwhelming. When she invades her brother’s boardroom to chastise them, there is also Huxley Hamilton, who is smitten with her fire.

Huxley is “invited” to be Lucys business coach as the book store is struggling and she won’t take monetary assistance. Brother Harrison is about to announce his candidacy for President of the US.

Business, relationships, politics, break-ins, attacks and a romance which will change lives. Pure entertainment.
