Del Wilder is a DEA agent and he is shocked to get a phone call and then find himself tied to Victoria(Vic), his first love, his first heart-break and the woman he could never forget. He gets them out of the situation but things haven't settled down, he has no idea how the people after him got to know who he is or who Vic is.

Vic loved Del, but she was seventeen in love and afraid. Her father arm-twisted her, using her love for Del, so she sent him away and later learnt she was pregnant. She fought tooth and nail to have her baby and to support her, married the man her father wanted. She is divorced now and wants nothing to do with her ex or her father, she and her daughter are more than enough for each other.
Vic doesn't tell him about Noelle, at first she figures he's a bad guy but when she finds out he is DEA, she still doesn't as she doesn't want danger coming to her daughter and also her daughter has been hurt enough by her ex and how he ignores her.

Yeah, a secret baby but you kind of get what Vic went through. She is strong now, they pick up Noelle. Noelle is a mouthy teenager, she is the female form of Del, stubborn and difficult and wanting a father. But when danger again comes calling, they split, leaving Noelle with Del's mother.

Del finds out the truth and he is angry but Vic tells him the truth about why she did what she did though not willingly. The past is the past but what they had is still there. Vic was hurt that Del found it so easy to walk away and believe the lies she said under duress.

I liked seeing them get together, at first they thought it was just the chemistry but it wasn't. I liked seeing Del struggling with Noelle. Vic tells him that she and her daughter are not a package, she wants Del to decide if he want something from her. For, Del it took a little longer to accept his feelings. There was a lot of action in the book as well.

I am enjoying this series, only two more to go.

Good read

Very good read as always by this author. Some nice twists and a second chance romance. Noelle added the spice to the story and relationship.

I haven't read the other books in this series but I really enjoyed this one! Sexy DEA agent Del Wilder gets a second chance with his first love, Victoria (Vic) Lowell, when he's forced to rescue her from the criminals who have taken her hostage. Determined to keep Vic and her teen-aged daughter safe, Del appoints himself their protector, unaware that Vic has some protecting of her own to do. She's kept a secret from Del all of these years, one that she must continue to keep in order to keep her child safe.
Who wouldn't love a story where true love gets a second chance?
