It is there, beneath her skin, a bird stuck in her cavity wall. I listen to the frantic fluttering of its developing wings as a petite pyramid of flesh rises in Katya’s low belly.

13 Horror Stories by 13 ladies of Indie horror, gore, guts, and nightmares and lots of blood, too.
I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this book. I was totally amazed as each author's story had me gripped in their own unique writing style. Thus, it had my hand swiping those Kindle pages flippety flip. They were filled with destruction, sadness, murder, and lots of bloody delight for any avid horror reader. Come and follow the journey. I dare you!!!
One story had me looking in the corner at shadows in the corner when I went to bed one night, arghhhh!!! Others had me gasping out loud. Then, in the final story, I had to stop reading and walk away .... scritch .... scritch ... so sad and desperation and grief emanated off the pages, had my pause, then came back to finish the book!!
Absolutely a fantastic book by 13 of the Books of Horror ladies, I applaud you all. This book is not to be missed. You won't be disappointed!!! 💜💜💜

This is a fantastic and versatile collection of horror short stories written by a talented group of women!
There is something for everyone in this collection, and nearly every story resonated with me. I would recommend it to seasoned horror readers as there are some gorier tales. I really wanted to try and read just one story per day, but I binged it!
I am a huge fan of Michelle von Eschen - her story, The Cavity Wall, is nothing short of creepy brilliance.
Hurry up and grab this for your October reading!

The foreword let me know what I was in for, and this anthology delivered without question. My favorites were from Angelique Jordonna and Michelle von Eschen. I rarely revisit a book, but this one definitely has re-read value. If you are intrigued by the title as I was, you'll find the insides just as delightful.

One for Sorrow by AJ Mullican - Superstitious readers beware, crows are bad omens for Katie.
The Watcher by Angelique Jordonna - Cam can see people. Mostly good but sometimes… not so much. Secrets abound in this story.
Admission by Rayne Havok - Avery wants to hang with the big boys and must prove she’s one of the guys. Bonus = lesbian sex scene.
Living in Sin by Nat Whiston - Mildred is dealing with her husband’s death and a few other bloody skeletons.
Stay Awhile by D. A. Latham - Lilly likes the dead… graveyard sex scene alert! This one is spicy AND bloody.
In Her Reflection by Tara Losacano - When a kidnapping goes … right? Morally grey and that’s A-ok.
The Doll’s Revenge by Peggi Boone - Creepy dolls and even creepier shenanigans.
Shuffler by Regina Watts - Zombies, jerk boyfriends, and new loves.
Modern Relationships by Natasha Sinclair and Ruthann Jagge - A bloody and saucy love triangle ends when the dead get pissed.
Don’t Look in the Box by Allisha McAdoo - Nosy Nelly (Maria) gets more than she bargains for with a storage unit buy.
Good Eatin’ by Judith Sonnet - Ryann just wants to sleep but when he is seduced by Jozi, STDs are the least of his concerns.
The Cavity Wall by Michelle Butcher - Kat and Rene have suffered a terrible loss but a life in trouble gives Kat a new hope.
There were a few that just didn’t work for me but there are five standouts: Rayne Havok, Regina Watts, Natasha Sinclair and Ruthann Jagge, Tara Losacano, and Michelle Butcher. These stories are worth the price of admission alone. A solid anthology and a definite recommend 4.5/5.

Always thought it is impossible that I would enjoy every single story in an anthology. Planned on reading a single story before heading to bed but ended up staying up till 4am to finish the entire book.

Well this collection was awesome and there is something for everyone in this collection. There were a few stories that I didn't like as well as some but overall a solid collection from the bad ass women of horror. I highly recommend this collection it brutally awesome

This collection of 13 stories by 13 female horror authors is a really vibrant mix of horror sub-genre, with almost every style represented. No punches are pulled in any of the stories: they are gut-wrenching both figuratively and literally!
This is a collection not to be missed, the talent that each of these ladies has is dripping off of every page. I love seeing more women in the horror community being lifted up, and this was a great introduction to some new authors for me

Quite bloody, straight-up horror, and a few of the stories utilised unfamiliar supernatural tropes.

im really sad i didnt enjoy this one 😭 i found so many of the stories to be underwhelming either in their story concepts or in their writing and it makes me sad cuz i love when women write extreme horror.
sometimes the concept of a story will be really good like the one about the girl who likes the dead who ends up falling in love with a supernatural corpse like vampire but the writing was so bland! the story of the assassin who explodes a lady is funny but that’s about it! the story of a dead girl possessing a doll to take revenge against her abusive dad you’d think would be good put it plays out in the most boring way imaginable! it’s so disappointing!
also a lot of these stories have an undertone of romance in them which is fine by me i love messed up weird romances but (and maybe this is just me) i can’t help but think that a lot of the stories here are less scary than what you’d find in ur average dark romance book! which is so weird??? when did that happen??? this book is only 2 years old???

A delightful collection of horror stories written by female authors with blood, guts, glory, and female vengeance.
Like all anthologies, there are some stories that stand out, and there are some that are good but don't quite hit the mark. I really enjoyed these and liked their exploration of different themes and different drives. Though the very last one left a different kind of taste in my mouth, one that had me holding my stomach and cringing in sympathy pain.
This was a fun dip into short stories and was a very quick read for me.
Like all anthologies, there are some stories that stand out, and there are some that are good but don't quite hit the mark.
