ngl i skimmed after a while because it got boring. they were doing the most boring gf-bf stuff like meeting parents and i couldn't care less. also her ex was causing unnecessary drama.🥱

What a fun read from Helena Hunting (writing as Eva Knight)! A paranormal departure from her usual contemporary writing, it’s a funny, sweet and sexy NA romance, and I really enjoyed it.
Hazel ‘Hazy’ Florence is a pre-med student, living her best life at college with her two best friends. Things start looking a little better when three brothers move into the student neighbourhood, and sparks fly when Hazy meets fellow pre-med student, Godric. There’s an immediate attraction, and after some fabulous flirting and banter, they start seeing each other and they fall hard. It’s easy and natural, and so much fun, and I loved watching them come together
But there’s something about Godric that makes him different to other guys. He and his brothers have a secret, one that is fun to see when we know what’s coming and Hazy doesn’t. They’re vampires.
Far from turning Hazy’s world upside down, she’s actually pretty accepting of the news. Full of questions of course, but it doesn’t really change their lives too much, instead bringing them closer. But they do have things to navigate as their relationship deepens. Hazy has a lot to learn about Godric’s abilities and vulnerabilities, them being together also begins to have an effect on her own physiology. Then there’s Hazy’s ex whose jealousy leads him to look way too closely into Godric’s family, hoping to uncover something sinister.
This book reads more like NA romance with a twist rather than a true paranormal romance, but it’s still lots of fun. It’s a different take on vampire lore, with most vampiric traits being written off as ‘from books and movies’, and I enjoyed getting to explore Godric’s world with Hazy. The fact that they’re both pre-med also puts a nerdy science spin on things as they approach everything logically and scientifically, Godric being a vampire is just taken in stride as their romance progresses.
And what a romance it is! Hazy and Godric fall deeply in love, and their love story is sweet, fun, so freaking sexy, and with lots of emotion. I loved watching them fall so hard for each other.
The book reads well as a standalone, but there some unanswered questions, and Godric has two fabulous brothers that are just begging for their own stories. I’m hoping that we get more from this world.

a 3.5 stars read from me. a good read but i really wish it’s more better.

i think after i read this book i will read anything featuring vampires because it seems to be my new favourite genre. it’s actually a good read and lived up to my expectations but not too much. i mean it was just a basic rom-com.
we got Hazy, who is a college student that very witty, hilarious and confident. she’s a pre-med student and she’s living her best life at college with her two best friends. i love their friendship so much. her life got so much better when there’s three brothers move into the student neighbourhood and Hazy lays eyes on the most ridiculously beautiful guy ever who also a pre-med, Godric Hawthorn. i love Godric, he’s characters is just so charming i mean he really reminds me of Edward 🤭
their story got me hooked from the start, i gotta say the first of half of the book is much much better than the second half of the book. their romance is just something i’m rooting for. the way Godric treats Hazy is just so insanely sweet. i literally got butterflies. the fact that they’re both a pre-med also have a nerdy science as they talked about anything and just relate to science. the story of Godric and his brothers as a vampire is much needed in the book i love the balance of it as their romance plot.
what this book made me a bit disappointed were because it’s more to NA romance with a twist rather than a true paranormal romance that i need. and the issue with Hazy’s ex being a stalker is just so unnecessary for me. but overall it’s a good read. it’s very fun and lighthearted paranormal romance.

This was... not good... And okay, you say it's supposed to read like fanfiction and be mostly smut, fine... But I've read a lot of fanfiction that was better than this and would've deserved to be published more than this book.
The smut was repetitive and boring, so much so that after the first few times I just started skipping the parts that had it in it, cause it was mostly the same with a few new dialogue lines thrown in there... In fact, most of the stuff that happened in the book was boring and after a while I just started reading the dialogue and nothing else (meeting the parents, college parties (all of them extremely similar), them going to class, baking brownies, and a lot of smut...)
Also, why is Hazy constantly fainting?? Who thought it was okay to make her faint over 3 times in one conversation??? and not just metaphorical fainting, but like she actually passes out??
Next, the blood drinking, you mean to tell me that Godrick (they shorten his name to God frequently when they're doing it) was just sucking over a liter of blood out of her on the regular and she still had enough energy to go to class and study all day because she ate one piece of brownie after it and was feeling completelyfine?? There's a reason why most blood donation centers make you wait 8 weeks until you can donate again, and the longest they waited was less than 6 weeks, girlie was probably walking around not quite understanding anything that's going on around her.
Also, the only name that was okay from the three vampire brothers was Laz, that's a fine vampire name (ironic really considering everything), the other one being Hunter?? (maybe that's just me and my obsession with RWRB, but I cringed whenever his name was mentioned), and finally, Godrick, or GOD??? as he's quite frequently called... and I just... it really did make me wish I had DNF'ed this back at 6% when I first had the thought

I don’t know if all of Helena Hunting aka Eva Knight (her paranormal pen name) writing is equally addicting but boy! This was my first read of hers and it was so addicting! I absolutely loved this book. I gobbled it up in one sitting.
Hazy is a college student who is a spunky and hilarious character. She’s witty, confident, and a sex positive woman on a mission.
New student Godric is looking delicious. As does every other female student thinks as well but Hazy and Godric have a connection. And boy does Hazy want in his pants. 😂
This was a laugh out loud romantic comedy with the perfect proportion of spice, comic relief, mystery, and wonderful side characters.
Godric is a very old vampire. He’s never dated a human before and it’s all new to him. When the secret it out to Hazy, both work on finding out how to coexist together. When one ages and the other not… these two science nerds put their skills and knowledge to the test.
Godric has two other brothers, and I really hope they get their own books because I am seriously dying for their own romantic love stories!
I highly recommend this book. Godric is the sweetest book boyfriend that has decades and decades of practice in the sheets… ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

My Boyfriend is a Vampire is actually written by Helena Hunting. Eva Knight is her paranormal romance penname. As soon as she announced My Boyfriend is a Vampire I had to read it. As of writing this review (November 14, 2022), the book is a little difficult to purchase in North America. I had to purchase my physical copy from Blackwell’s.
My Boyfriend is a Vampire is a cute, fun, and sexy Halloween romance about the main character, Hazy, falling in love with a vampire, Godric, in university. Usually romance novels set in university tend to be categorized as new adult, however I think My Boyfriend is Vampire is strictly adult romance as it doesn’t feature the hallmark coming of age arc like you’d typically see in the new adult genre.
The reason I rated the novel 3 stars instead of 4 is because I thought that about 20% before the middle of the novel, the paced slowed down. It wasn’t until Hazy found about the truth about Godric that the novel started to interest me again. By the end of the novel, I was fully engaged.
Hazy and Godric start doing science experiments with Hazy’s blood and Godric’s vampire venom. As corny as some of these moments were, I loved this aspect of the novel. Knight opened up the lore of her world in a way I was not expecting for a vampire romance. I’m looking forward to the companion novels in the future because there HAS to be companion novels.
If you’re a fan of Hunting’s work then it should come as no surprise that My Boyfriend is a Vampire is spicy. Hazy and Godric’s attraction to each other is fire hot. Their attraction coupled with their science experiments makes for great spice.
Overall, My Boyfriend is a Vampire is a great Halloween read with excellent spice and world building readers won’t expect.

I will happily read anything featuring vampires, and undead romantic comedies seem to be my new favourite genre. My Boyfriend is a Vampire is the second such book I’ve read this year (My Roommate is a Vampire is the other), and it definitely lived up to my high expectations.
I loved Hazy and God (…ric) in equal measure, along with the humour, romance and unusual vampire lore. I had a great time learning about Godric and his fanged family, which includes brothers Hunter and Laz, and how they managed to fit in with human college students.
I laughed at how self-aware this book was (Godric dresses up as a famous bookish vampire for Halloween), and swooned at how typically romantic the vampires were. Hazy was one of my favourite romcom characters I’ve met this year, and I like to think I’d be as cool as her if I met a few creatures of the night (maybe one day!).
I highly recommend My Boyfriend is a Vampire to anyone who likes paranormal romcoms, or just a good old romance with a bloody twist. I really hope there’s a sequel on the way!

This book was fun, fresh and fast paced! Perfect example of ‘not too angsty and the spicy scenes were great’ 🍷
✨BUT if you’re in your angry slump, don’t read it. If you’re in a long time slump where you’d do anything to crawl out, read it. And read it now! 📖
I had a hard time figuring out Godric’s personality since his POV didn’t give me much insight but all in all, I really really had fun reading this! Hazel was adorable, did/said the right things and the side characters were interesting enough for me to read the next book (if in case the author decides to write it) 😂🦋
Overall, I would recommend to anyone who listens because this is a great halloween read with amazing spice and a world building I definitely didn’t expect ❤️🔥💀

I had a hard time figuring out Godric’s personality since his POV didn’t give me much insight but all in all, I really really had fun reading this! Hazel was adorable, did/said the right things and the side characters were interesting enough for me to read the next book (if in case the author decides to write it) 😂🦋
Overall, I would recommend to anyone who listens because this is a great halloween read with amazing spice and a world building I definitely didn’t expect ❤️🔥💀

I absolutely loved MY BOYFRIEND IS A VAMPIRE!
I’m always a sucker for rom-coms, but throw in a vampire boyfriend and it’s a whole extra level of fun!
I thought the premise of this book was so fun, and I'm happy to say that it completely delivered! Hazy and Godric were amazing and I loved them together so-so much! Their romance was fabulous, the comedic parts of the story had me cracking up, and even under a different pen name, Helena Hunting, is just as hilarious and spicy as always! ;)
I loved getting to try something new from Helena, and I'm already hoping that this book turns into a series as I’d loved to see more stories about the other characters, and I’d love more of Hazy and Godric, too!
Overall, I thought that MY BOYFRIEND IS A VAMPIRE was a wonderful story! The plot was fun, the world-building was absolutely fascinating, and the characters were phenomenal! It doesn't have regular distribution in Canada and the US yet, but here's hoping it gets picked up soon because this enjoyable read deserves to be experienced by all! If you're a fan of rom-coms with heart, humour, and a quirky premise...even if you aren't always a fan of vampires...I think you'll absolutely adore this book! I loved and highly recommend it!

Ah I was so excited to get my hands on this book. Helena Hunting is one of my favorite authors. To receive a copy of this book was amazing.
A little note. She used the name Eva Knight this time around as her pen name.
This book was a big leap of faith since I'm not a huge fan of fantasy books. Usually I pass on vampires. Yet, I believed Helena could change my mind.
Told in dual pov this was a love story between college student Hazy and vampire/student Godric. Their love story unfolded splendidly. Their connection was simply beautiful to read. It wasn't only just the sexual but also the emotional connection that was amazing. And those sexy scenes were hot and steamy!! Just the way I like them. I also loved how he explained everything to her in a calming and factual way along the way. Which helped me as a reader to figure him out as a vampire. His brothers were both hilarious and supportive. I'm hoping for a book with either of them next!! My only hmm moment was the ex Blaine. He was a difficult character to figure out. He turned into a caricature of an evil person that was more odd than evil. He wasn't too far off in his suspicions that something was up with Godric. Yet, no clue why he cared so much since clearly Hazy was never getting back together with him. Also I would love more of her best friends Alyssa and Satya in the book. They were fantastic.
The ending was superb and exactly what I loved. Overall, yes I loved this book!! It was magical!! Please read this gem, you won't regret it!!

This was just okay tbh, I expected more, I WANTED more but it didn’t deliver! I just wish it was better paced and more in depth, I did enjoy the lore and the plot in general but idk it felt rushed and like it didn’t go as deep as I wanted it to!! Honestly overall really anticlimactic…I was hoping it’d build to something big but it was just eh and over with too fast . Giving it a 2.5 though because it was still enjoyable but in a middle of the scale way, i had fun but i wanted more!

As a big fan of this authors other works/genres under another name, I just knew, without a doubt I had to read this. I’m not one for reading paranormal books usually but I adore this authors words and books and knew I was going to read it. Sometimes you go into something expecting one thing and get delivered another and this book was exactly that! Eva Knight did absolutely brilliant on this book! As a first time paranormal writer this book was so addictive and fun to read!
Hazy and Godrick were so much fun to follow! Their story had me hooked from the get go and invested until the last page. I can not even describe just how much I loved Godrick, that man was absolutely swoon worthy. He’s so insanely sweet and the way he treats Hazy…be still my beating heart. Hazy was so much fun, she brought the humour and I just absolutely loved her!
Together they were perfection and all I did was have the heart eyes for them both haha.
I have to give credit to this author for going out of her comfort zone and bringing us such a fun YA paranormal Collage romance. I was completely blown away but had no doubt whatsoever that this book would be amazing.
My boyfriend is a Vampire had the perfect amount of romance, humour, sarcasm and angst. If you’re looking for something different to your normal romance give this beauty a chance.

...guaranteed to make you smile and giggle, with loveable characters and delicious spicy scenes. It definitely scratched my easy romance itch and left me wanting more! Eva Knight really knows how to write a heart throb love interest (Oh my God...ric).
Although I enjoyed this book, I really felt like it was gearing up to something more climactic and was a little disappointed with the ending. Although it is left on a sweet and hopeful note, it felt quite rushed and like a missed opportunity for more to come to blows.
That said, I would definitely read a sequel to this book and find out where Hazy and God end up!

This was delightful. Just what I was in the mood for 🥰
Definitely a fun, light and entertaining read all the way through.
My only gripe was I wish I knew how their future played out. The epilogue only went 1 month in the future, I wanted more!

3.5-3.75 stars. This was a cute read! My Boyfriend is a Vampire is a standalone book by Helena Hunting writing as Eva Knight. This is her first foray into paranormal romance. It is Godric and Hazel/Hazy's story. Hazy is pre-med in college, living a typical student's life of partying and classes. She meets Godric when he moves in nearby and is in one of her classes. There is an attraction between them and eventually they begin dating, only for Hazy to find out that Godric is keeping a big secret. He is actually a centuries old vampire.
This was a fun story. I liked Godric and Hazy. I do think the character's felt a little young at times and their mindsets a little less mature than I usually read. I also think they lacked some chemistry. But I still liked them as characters and thought they were a good match. The pacing was a little meandering. But I was intrigued enough by the story to keep reading. The paranormal aspect was fun and well-written. I liked Godric's brothers, also vampires, and I would love to see this become a series where they get their own books.
Overall, this was a good read. Godric and Hazy were sweet together and I was happy that they found each other. I look forward to more from this author and can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

I loved everything about this book!! Helena ( writing as Eva Knight) gave me her signature wit and charm and wrapped it in a fun and steamy YA romance that definitely put me in the spirit of the season. I'm a huge lover of Halloween, so it was fun to read a romcom about a college romance between a human and vampire!
Godric and his 2 brothers (please give me more Hunter and Laz!) are the new guys on campus and they have everyone's attention, especially Hazy.
This book has the campy, snarky feel of the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the romance of Twilight, and the sexy times we love from Helena!
I can't wait for more from this series!

My boyfriend is a vampire is a new adult romance set in a university setting mixing humor, love, friendship, family, student parties, and the paranormal. This novel is cute as can be, without excess drama, with a hero to die for and a witty heroine.
For my taste, there are too many hot scenes and especially too many references to their countless orgasms. Which somehow makes the love story a bit superficial. On the other hand, I liked the "scientific" side. This is not my first novel with vampires who go down the road of blood research (A discovery of witches for example), but I appreciated this choice by the author. Not to mention that this brings more adventures, with Hazy's ex among others.
I liked the derision against the stereotypes of vampires. Particularly a reference to Edward from Twilight. I loved Godric's brothers, I hope they get their own book.
As always, I loved the writing of Helena Hunting (pen name : Eva Knight). Lots of humor, imagination, sarcasm, energy.
Overall, this novel offers an extremely pleasant, rather light read, perfect for this Halloween month, perfect for having a good time with a smile on your face.
