This is my first read of this series joining at book 3 of 3. I was captured by the style of presentation and convinced that l should read the first two books. The book has only three characters and the conversations are between two at a time with the first setting the stage for the second. The interplay between the characters was witty, provoking some serious thought at the same time. If this is the style of writing that you like then you will enjoy this book.

introduces a new form

this is among the most uniquely written books I’ve ever read. it’s formatted as a series of texts messages, first between a dude and his female best friend about the dude’s love interest, then between the dude and the love interest herself. because of this formatting, we’re allowed to follow along a lot more closely than we would have had the book been written any other way.

The story continues! This latest installment in the author’s Direct Message series is as intriguing as the prior ones. I love his writing style—it’s like you’re sitting near a random couple and shamelessly eavesdropping on their conversations. A quick, sexy, enjoyable read that leaves you looking forward to the next episode.
