About the author

Born in Bulgaria, I have lived in places like Germany, Belgium and Iraq, before settling down with my family in Luxembourg. With varied interests, I have always suffered from an insatiable appetite for facts stemming from an unrestrainable intellectual curiosity. It has certainly influenced my academic background and career: after acquiring Master degrees in Greek Philology, German and English Translation, I graduated in Crisis Management and Diplomacy and, most recently, undertook an MBA.

My career has been equally broad and diverse, swinging from that of an army paratrooper and a military intelligence analyst; through to that of a civil servant with the European Commission, and presently, that of a clerk, performing purely financial tasks in a major bank. Member of MENSA.

This was a really fast, entertaining read. I didn't find all the facts disturbing. Some were, others weren't, but they were all interesting. I would read the other trivia books by this author.

Must Read For The Trivia Minded People In This World

I was looking for something else in my library but saw this and it looked interesting. Some of the items we in the US of a certain age consider common knowledge like the circumstances surrounding the death of actor Jon-Erick Hexum. Some are things we’ve heard of in passing but never researched further like that one lady in the United States who was hit by part of a meteorite. Turns out she and her landlord had a legal battle to determine who it belonged to. Well, after a year of paying lawyers, she got custody of the rock. Unfortunately by then no one was interested and her husband gave it to a museum for $25. He said his shy wife was by then filled with anxiety, her health problems had worsened and just wasn’t herself anymore ☹️☹️

But there are a lot of fun facts like the special edition of Fahrenheit 451 with the asbestos cover IYKYK.

It’s a quick read with the book divided into different categories. I shared several pieces of the military trivia with my sister, a disabled Vet. I think it’s a nice idea 💡 for family time without electronics. Good for ages 4 to 104 and beyond.

This one is filled with facts about upsetting crimes and mayhem, combined with unbelievable yet real instances of misfortune and misery. Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed as I have read the majority of these facts before.

Some are Unbelievable

This is a tasty little treat of trivia. Each item is short and in some ways fun to read. Although several I have heard of before the vast majority were new to read. For the reader of books on trivia this is one to read.
