For 80 percent of the book this was a solid 4 stars but when it went bad it went BAD. It's obvious that a sensitivity reader was not employed by Ms. Lee, despite the book involving sexual/physical assault. Because nothing that happens after the assault is okay. Turning the MMC into the victim because SHE gets assaulted and his feelbads get hurt about her calling her best friend to pick her up afterward instead of him? And it's not that it hurt him, that's understandable. But he goes full on mantrum and GHOSTS HER in the immediate aftermath, and not just him, but EVERYONE, including the best friend. She gets to sit alone beating herself up and feeling completely lost while he refuses to answer her texts and she has no idea where he is, as an already abused (by father)woman WHICH IS WHY SHE WAS AFRAID TO BOTHER HIM ABOUT IT TO BEGIN WITH, and who just was assaulted for refusing sexual advances from her boss she's been locking her door against for months, and then even the bestie says she's the problem when she deigns to show up again days later. As an assault survivor this was reprehensible. Like I curled up in a ball literally sobbing reading it and reliving my own experience of not telling anyone because I was too worried about how it would affect everyone else. So fuck you Nick. You turned out to be just as emotionally abusive as every other man in her life. You just hid it better for longer. And to the author? Do fucking better! Especially when you are writing about abuse, because this? This is not okay!

Part of me wants to write a proper review, but another feels like there's only so much you can point out in a series of books until you get repetitive. Because of this, I will just focus on the main character's development in the final third of the book - mostly because it's what stood out to me in the most negative way. Since there are spoilers, I will hide them.

As a side note, I would just like to add the cringe level was a bit off the roof for me with this couple, but overall still enjoyable in a "just-to-pass-the-time" sort of way.

I would have preferred her to break up with the boyfriend sooner, I think it's chapter 3, or so.
Because of her age, despite his interest he's dated others.
No intimate details other than the Hero and heroine but both mention relationships with previous people in conversation from time to time.
Ex drama.
For me the HEA got wrapped up pretty quick.
The heroine has huge self image issues which raise various issues in the book but I did feel his lack of actually understanding how bad these were to her led to him taking action at the end and it made me doubt he was actually the right guy for her.
HEA.

Spoiler.
She gets assaulted at work asks her bf to drive her home, afraid to bother the Hero at work.
He comes home is gutted he's not her first call, leaves. He then refuses all contact with her. He doesn't want a relationship where he loves her but she doesn't feel the same, though he hasn't actually told her he loves her.
She finally gets it and goes to him, confesses how she feels. He says he feels the same. All sorted.

NICHOLAS FRIGGIN LASKER!!!
This man was more book boyfriend coded than i thought it was ever possible to be. Green Flag boyfriend of the year & the definition of whipped.
The book was pretty lengthy ngl but personally it was pretty worth it.
Both the mmc & fmc had my heart; they were well written and relatable.
Loved how the author took her time to develop the story, create a conflict and solve the issue instead of rushing it; it was one of the rare situations where neither parties were at fault and my reader-self absolutely enjoyed it.

Besotted hero (whose brothers are mean to girls) is totally in for the h. Unfortunately he gets his nose out of joint over what he perceives her shutting him out. Minor league angst.

She has a bad dad.

While the story is really sweet it felt like it dragged a bit in some places. A little too much emphasis on Molly's weight all throughout the book. I really loved Nicholas. He was so thoughtful and kind and patient. Molly was great too but had so much insecurity about herself and unsolved issues that needed therapy.

Molly was extremely frustrating throughout. I get her childhood trauma helped shape her outlook, but all too often she seemed almost deliberately obtuse. Nicholas showed more patience than ANY person would. Especially after learning all those times he spent at the shelter HIGHLY ALLERGIC, only to spend time with her. I love how obsessed he is with her...

The Lasker bros are back!

I really do enjoy this group of siblings.

This is Nicholas’s story and what a ride. He IS the perfect boyfriend. Too bad Molly can’t trust him or herself.

I understand Molly’s trepidation when it comes to Nicholas. She’s been told all her life how she’s just not good enough or she’s 2nd best at everything. So even when something good happens to her, she is waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Nicholas and his family put their preverbal arms around her and try to give her the confidence and love she so desperately needs. At the end of the day, though, you have to believe in yourself. I think that ultimately is what this story is about. The question though, is if Nicholas’ love and his trust in THEM is enough.

We got more of the Lasker moms this book and that was INTERESTING.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

Another out of the park hit by Nadia. These lasker brothers are so unique in so many ways. This brother is vulnerable and totally smitten by his love of his life. He is his step sisters best friend. She is a hot mess of incredible insecurities. She was emotionally beaten down by the people who should love her unconditionally. He is trying to get her attention. He finally gets her attention. But it takes a lot of time and patience to get her real attention. Because of her past she does not think she is worthy. But he shows her what he really means to her. I really enjoyed the vulnerability of the male character. And her vulnerability with his made one awesome read.

Nicholas Lasker and Molly Greene

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

Finally Forever by Nadia Lee. Book 5 of 7 in The Lasker Brothers series. Dual POV. Dual narration. Best friend's older billionaire step-brother and a woman who doesn't feel worthy of love. Slow burn, age gap romance with a satisfying HEA. It's listed as 11 hours 45 minutes; I listened at speed 2.50 for 4 hours 42 minutes. Narrators Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell brought another Lasker couple to life. Make sure to sign up for the author's newsletter for bonus content. Content warnings: sexu@l har@ssment; peer-to-peer bullying; and an emotionally @busive father.

Location: California

I loved Nicholas. He might just be the perfect book boyfriend. I highly recommend this story. This book is perfect for the girls who were always told they were never enough because they weren't thin or fit enough. In case no one told you: You aren't the problem, and you are more than enough just as you are.

Nicholas Lasker (34) wants Molly Greene (26) to depend on him, and he proves over and over that he's there for her. Sadly, Molly has been so mistreated by her father that her doubts stand in the way of her happiness. When Molly is confronted with the possibility of life without Nicholas, she's forced to learn that it's OK to let her guard down. JP

2 out of 5 on my spice scale.

I picked this one up for a challenge as I've always enjoyed Nadia Lee's storytelling style. Plus I love a fake dating relationship story.

I loved Molly she's totally a total booknerd she's even got a bookstagram. I really felt like I was able to connect with her as she's very much like I am. Nicolas was just perfect in every way I love the way he is always doing sweet little things for Molly that she never notices.

I devoured Finally Forever in just one afternoon, as it was a fast paced sweet steamy story. This was the perfect balance of story to spice. The characters are easy to connect with you can't help falling in love with them. I've been craving a sweet romance and this one was exactly what I wanted.

Highly recommend the the Lasker series as each book is a standalone but they are a little connected as they are brothers. Nadia Lee is a talented storyteller all her stories are beautiful.

Nicholas Lasker is a total wish fulfilment book boyfriend. He’s absolutely besotted with his stepsister’s best friend Molly, who is sweet but has too many assholes in her life.

He reads all the books she recommends on her romance instagram account, and does not throw away his shot when they find themselves in a fake dating trope (he knows how this works). 🤣

This is a soapy romance at its best, so it does have some cartoon-y villains and a too perfect MMC, but I LOVED it.

Highly recommend for anyone who likes any of the following: he falls first and harder + all the petty people who have done her wrong get their comeuppance (as usual I’m blood thirsty so could have gone further but what we got was still satisfying).

I liked the start of the book, but on three quarter of the book I kinda lost. I thought Nicholas was a total green flag boyfriend, but losing your shit because she didn't call you first after she is assaulted...

Happy for them they worked through their issues and got a HEA.

now, i don’t think this is the worst book of the series but it’s pretty fucking bad. it’s written like a bad wattpad story and the miscommunication ?? the whole relationship is built on miscommunications and they literally never talk through them. when molly didn’t immediately call nicholas after *she* got assaulted, he threw a massive temper tantrum and didn’t talk to her for like a week. i get it, if i found out my partner got hurt and didn’t find out until hours later, i would be pretty upset. but he made it all about himself, didn’t even stop to think for a second that maybe she didn’t say anything because she’s been hurt before. he knew her past, how she had been treated before, and then ignored her for days on end. it’s just not good, the humor is bad and the sex scenes are so uncomfortable to read. could be fun to read if you’re a fan of making fun of bad romance

I've read every book in this series and have become progressively more frustrated with the laziness of the 3rd act breakups.

This is my last Lasker Brother's book because I'm tired of how Lee always has the FMCs either forced to apologize for something that isn't really their fault or absolutely destroyed before they can be carefully put back together by the MMC who put them through hell in the first place. Do not recommend.

I have no words… not because it wasn’t a good read, but because it was the GREATEST read! Oh my god this is likely my favorite read of 2023. All I have to say is: Nicholas. WHAT👏A👏MAN👏 He is now the absolute standard for my own personal dating life LOL the way he treated Molly and would do things for her because he knew she would like it, like how he’d drink coffee even though he didn’t like coffee, but he did it for her. And oooooo the spicy scenes, Nadia Lee is a GEM, her writing had me flipping through the pages so fast. The spicy scenes are probably some of the best ones I have ever read, her descriptions are just *chef’s kiss*

Even though there was a bit of the miscommunication trope at the end, I still rated this book 5 stars. I feel like the miscommunication here was extremely valid because of Molly’s past and how she had always been treated by those like Owen and her own father. Normally miscommunication will make me knock a book down a bit in rating, but it was fully justified and solved here.

If anyone is in need of an OUTSTANDING read, please pick this book up. I am BEGGING YOU, you will not be disappointed in the slightest. If I could bottle up how this book made me feel and sell it, I’d be a millionaire.

Honestly, this was pretty meh for me. I love a good best friends brother trope but the FMC bothered me. She was such a victim of herself and it really graded on me the longer I listened.

Also, as someone who has dealt with body issues all my life, some of the toxic shit that was said to her was really triggering for me. I didn't realize I needed to look up those TWs for a contemporary romance book.

My favorite parts of the book was the pining at the beginning and the spice. But her whole obliviousness got really annoying after a while.
Overall
Story 2.5 ⭐⭐⭐

Finally Forever

BRIEF Synopsis: Book 5 of Lasker Brothers Series. This follows the story of brother, Nicholas, and his step-sister’s best friend, Molly. Nicholas falls in love with Molly at first sight, but there are too many things to keep them apart, one being their age-gap. Eight years have passed since then and Molly is going through a rough patch, in a job she hates, being dumped by her influencer boyfriend on her birthday for her high school nemesis, and what she believes is an unrequited crush on her best friend’s older brother. Nicholas decides to finally take his shot with her, rescues her from an awkward situation and then convinces her that a fake relationship will benefit him. They both have issues to work through before they can acknowledge that this “fake” relationship is something more.

Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️
LOLs: 🤣
Angst: 😈😈
Spice: 🌶️

Things I Liked:
- Curvy FMC
- MMC pining - suffers animal allergies just to spend time with her, modifications to his house for her, following her book recommendations on instagram, reading her favorite romance books, slight stalker vibes, which at first are endearing… 😬🤪
- Unexpected proposal

Opportunities:
- pushover dynamic and lack of confidence/self worth in FMC, does FINALLY seem to work through some of it in the end, but barely even talks about it to address in book
- So many uncomfortable moments with boyfriend Owen
- FMC Dad is the WORST
- Storyline doesn’t seem as authentic as the other books in the series so far, felt a bit forced - even with both characters pining, they didn’t seem to have a lot of chemistry when they interacted, horrible analogies, spicy scenes that were just “meh” and sometimes MMC is delusional, like he thinks the things he is doing are simple or insignificant, but they are elaborate (like the Vegas trip, getting the books, talking about buying her a car, renting all available apartments to prevent her from leaving, etc)
- Love a curvy FMC but this was a bit cringe with some of the dialog and descriptive words… like saying “supple back” what does that even mean!? And when the MMC tells her she is so soft and pretty 🤦🏼‍♀️
- Tiny bit creepy that the MMC fell for FMC when they met, with an age gap of 18 to 26… but at least he never acts on it until she is older

Overall, just felt like this did not fit the vibe and quality of the rest of the series, especially after Sebastian and Lucie’s book, which was my favorite. Still planning to finish the series, just hoping this was a fluke.

Favorite Quotes-
“So good luck, Sponge D*ck”
“Besides, whatever I thought I felt was too big to be a p3nis” 👀
“You think I’m a sexy stallion?” 😏

Nicholas and Molly

He’s her best friends step brother. He has been into her since first sight but he’s 8 years older and she was a teenager. But she’s 21 now and her live in boyfriend just dumped her on her birthday. He swoops in to save the day and she is temporarily living with him - but he’s hoping to make it forever. Fake dating is ensued due to a number of crazy - his parents are obsessed with him having babies… it’s weird. He buys her all kinds of things and she doesn’t really fight it… dresses, jewelry, buys a truck just to help her move… he’ll do anything for her. And then in a charity auction he bids I think $5 million for a date - it’s a pretty outrageous amount that just gets glossed over.

She reads romance novels and highlights the good parts. He reads them and reenacts the things she likes. He’s big of course and she can’t believe life can be like a romance novel like this.

Third act breakup with him leaving due to her not going to him first when she needs help after her boss sexually harasses her. She ends up going after him and telling him she loves him.

My favorite gesture- He gives her flowers every day he is with her with a note in a foreign language- he says he’ll tell her what they say on their 100th day together… they all say “I love you”

She ends up asking him to Marry her in front of his family as she is so happy … but he’s already prepared with a ring!

Finally Finished this book. This book was 200 pages too long.I think the pages could have been easily reduced to 250 max.
I really liked the first 20% of the book.It has everything I liked including boy obsessed, representation of curvy and plus sized women and the heroine's love for fictional men.

But after that the book felt more like a parody.Like it had fake dating trope but it felt kinda forced. Also almost every other women than heroine was shown either rude or with huge tits which automatically makes them shallow and empty in the heads.Anytime an author does that, the book immediately gains negative thousand points from me.

Apart from that, let's talk about the hero:-

That man had no personality whatsoever outside of the heroine💀.I don't think he had literally any other hobby other than attending meetings and drinking tea.Like I heard about doormat heroine, first time I read about a doormat hero.

And I also didn't like that the heroine underestimated and depreciated herself at every two pages.I get that she has trauma from her parents and exes but at some point it gets tiring. Like I get it that she was made to feel inferior her whole life. You don't have to remind me after every 2 paragraphs.

I would have given this book 1 star but the extra 1 star is for the smut.It was ... Remarkable 😌.
Overall, this book had potential but it was wasted and came across as trying too hard.

This was a story that hit at the right time. It had been in my library for a while and I decided to dive right in without rereading the summary. Reading a billionaire romance is exactly what I needed. I'm going through some stuff at home and the idea of a hot billionaire swooping in and taking most of my troubles away sounded absolutely delightful. I had planned on giving this 4* because of how much I was in the mood for it even though it wasn't necessarily a strong story line but man, oh man, did this take a nose dive at 75%. He was too soft and she was playing too dumb. They were both immature at the end. This ended up knocking my rating down to the 3* that I felt like it truly was.
I'm interested in the rest of the brothers and hope the stories are better than this.
Also - this cover needs some work. I never would have picked this up had it not been for the recs I saw.

This isn’t your typical best friend’s brother or age gap read. Nicolas is 8 years older than Molly, and his sister is supportive of their relationship. Molly’s dickhead boyfriend dumped her on her birthday publicly, and Nicolas who has been secretly in love with Molly, was in the right place at the right time to pick up the pieces. He moves Molly into his house, and does everything to convince her of her worth.
I thought this was cute, but a little long. I feel like so much of the story was hung up on Molly’s weight and continuously brought back to it. I loved that her ex and his girlfriend got what was coming to them, and everyone else that was shitty to her. Molly being an avid romance reader was cute and relatable.

An HEA that left me hanging

This book had everything I love in romance, but I had the biggest disconnect. It was repetitive. It sounded like what men think a romance book written by a woman would be like. I wanted to love Nicholas, but in the beginning, instead of being a cinnamon roll, it felt desperate. I very rarely DNF books, but this book could've been a hundred pages shorter, and the second half felt like it was from a different author. Another let down from TikTok.

least favorite of series

This is my least favorite of the series. Molly needs therapy, she’s always a victim which I understand comes from trauma, but at some point she needs to take action. Nicholas had said so many times that she’s his gf and “his” and she still had doubt. She just was cringe for me. I didn’t enjoy their story line. The other 3 books I’ve read, I loved.
