De nieuwste Isabella en ditmaal gaan we naar een supertof winterfestival!
Het is gelukkig nog koud genoeg op de meeste dagen dat het boek er nog bij past. De bieb heeft hem pas net toegevoegd anders had ik hem zeker al in November of December gelezen. In dit toffe boek gaat Isabella naar haar oom en tante (samen met haar moeder, zusje, en vader). Deze wonen in een veel kouder stuk, wat goed is want tante is een fee van de winter. Het is bijna tijd voor het Winterfestival en Isabella en haar ouders/zusje mogen mee. Ik was natuurlijk helemaal hype, want ik hou van dit soort festivals. Ik wil gewoon meedoen, kan iemand eens een boek-transporter maken zodat we langs kunnen gaan? Ik bedoel, dit festival klonk en was zo leuk en ik wil er deel van zijn. We hebben heerlijke chocolademelk-stands met creaties waarbij je zeker een lege maag moet hebben, er is ander eten, er zijn toffe stands met allerlei creatiefs en leuks, er is een schaatsbaan, en nog veel meer. Ik vond het heerlijk om met Isabella langs het festival te gaan.
Natuurlijk is het niet allemaal glitter en glamour. Isabella is te goed voor deze wereld en vergeet even alles om zich heen wanneer ze een fee ontmoet die iets kwijt is. Ik vond het natuurlijk heel zoet van haar, maar ik wilde haar ook tegenhouden, vertel het in ieder geval aan je familie!
Oh, en ik vond het zo zoet dat Isabella’s zusje ook echt opgroeit. Ik heb iets teveel boeken/strips gelezen waarbij de kleine klein blijft. Maar in dit boek lezen we dat het zusje nu leert vliegen! Zo zoet!
En natuurlijk blijven de illustraties geweldig en lief~
Helaas vond ik de vader van Isabella gewoon irritant, hij gedroeg zich vaak meer als een oudere broer dan als een vader. Hij was zo verwend, luisterde totaal niet, wil nog steeds niks eten dat niet rood is (en kan net als een klein kind voor de gek gehouden worden door net wat aan te passen), hij zeurt, mensen moeten maar weggaan zodat hij door heeft dat hij misschien eens moet meewerken. Erg jammer. Want er zijn ook momenten die wel leuk zijn en die zou ik veel vaker willen zien. Oh, en dan het einde van dit boek, daar wilde ik hem zo schudden.
Maar ondanks dus die vader, heb ik weer genoten van dit heerlijke verhaal. Ik zou hem zeker aanraden en ik kijk alvast uit naar Isabella’s volgende verhaal!

The newest Isadora Moon and this time we are going to the amazing Frost Festival!!
It was thankfully still quite cold when I read this so the book still fitted (I read this one late February). While reading winter books in the summer is fun for some cold feelings, I much rather read books fitting to the season. But the library only just added it to their collection otherwise I would have read it in November/December. In this delightful and fun book Isadora goes to her uncle/aunt (along with her dad/mom/baby sister). These two live in a much colder part of the world, which is a good thing because the aunt is a fairy of winter/snow. It is almost time for Frost Festival and Isadora and her family are invited to come along. I was totally hyped because I love these kind of festivals. I want to be part of it. So once again, can someone just make a book-transporter? That way I can just pop by and enjoy everything. I mean the festival just sounded so fun and I want to not just read about it but also go to it for reals. There are hot chocolate stands with the wildest creations and I want to try them all so I will make sure to have an empty stomach, there is other food (yum), and there are other stands with a lot of creative stuff and other fun things (I need that hat and I want a wood work creation). It was a delight to be alongside Isadora and see the festivities.
Of course, it isn’t just glitter and glamour. Isadora is still too good for this world and forgets everything when she sees someone in need. In this case a fairy whose task it is to put the star on the big tree (and add some razzle dazzle), but she lost the star! I loved that Isadora helped her out and immediately went full detective mode, but something in me wanted to stop her and have her at least tell her family.
Oh, and I just adored that Isadora’s sister is truly growing up. I have read many books/comics in which the little one stays little. So it was so fun to read that her little sister is now learning to fly! So sweet!
The illustrations are always so charming and I love their style. They always make me happy.
But the dad is getting more and more on my nerves. He mostly just acts like a brother rather than a father. He is spoiled. He doesn’t listen. He doesn’t want to eat anything that isn’t red (but can, just like kids do, be fooled into eating something by just changing it a bit). He whines. People have to leave him so he may cooperate and see the light. Very disappointing. Especially since I know that he can really be a sweet and kind guy and I love the moments with him and Isadora. I would love to see these times more. Oh, and the end of this book. LORD, that is just so dumb of him.
But despite the dad, I have enjoyed this book greatly. The story was just so much fun. I would recommend this book to all and I am looking forward to Isadora’s next story!

I love the isadora moon set , cannot wait to read the next one

My 5yo daughter loves these books. I like how they have a fantastical world, but deal with real issues for kids. This one is about getting lost. The activities at the end are also great.
