How can you not help falling in love with an angel?

I just couldn’t get into this one. It arrived as part of a sci-fi mystery box, and so I gave it a shot, but it wasn’t for me. 60 pages in and I have no idea what’s happening or why I should care about any of the characters.

I haven't found an Andrew Greeley book yet that I can't love in some way. Angel Fire was spicier than most of the fiction I read but the tale pulls at your senses and draws you deeper.

Kept me busy checking the web- so handy on Kindle/ and so delightfully fun.Greeley educated very well on Christian lore in a fantastically absurd but great story.

I've only read two of Andrew Greeley's books, this and the Final Planet, and both were excellent tales. Well written, good story telling, and wonderful characters. In both hisbackground in the Catholic faith comes through strongly, in Angel Fire,its also a clear statement of the interplay of faith and science that sings to the logos, as well as a strange twist of unrequited love that is also somehow requited in the end.

A good, enjoyable read with some thought provoking questions raised and an unusual view of angels.

I am sorry but this was far-fetched and annoying book because it is written by a priest. Angels are re-crafted into fallible human-like creatures who experience everything humans do. Unfortunately, angels are not humans. Priests know this. Fr. Greeley obviously wrote this without giving any weight to his faith tenets. Some people will think this was good fantasy but not me. Aside from that, it was decently written.

It took me forever to get into this book. It wasn't bad once I got there but I wouldn't recommend it. The first 100 pages or so were just painful.
