It's time for Hannah to find out the truth.

I found it hard to engage with the storyline and the characters, for lack of a better word, ‘flat’. My advice? Skip this 1991 romance. There are much better Christmas romances out there.
I was looking for a quick holiday romance read and I got it but the characters all annoyed me.
Hannah and Roman were childhood sweethearts until another female tells Hannah that she is pregnant with Roman's child. Hannah and her mother leave the small town and move to Chicago. Seven years later, a mysterious man shows up with a delivery of lost letter. Hannah has conveintly just got cheated on and lost her job so she ups and decides to head south and stop by her old hometown and check out her childhood love. Roman is divorced. He married the girl but claims it was not his kid. Throw in some ghostly characters that are never fully explained, some meddling town folk.. both good and bad and a brother who lies a lot and twists the facts. Hannah says she can't trust Roman. Roman does not explain any of his actions or feelings but she is always falling into his arms and kissing him. Hannah's cat is briefly mentioned and seems to afraid of some characters that we are too assume are the ghosts... they don't eat anything but everyone in town can speak to them but then the cat is never mentioned again. Lots of communication issues between all the characters and some happily ever after but nothing is tied up in a bow.. mother is never confronted.
i absolutelt loved this book. it follows hannah bradshaw as she gets a letter that reaches her 7 years too late. it was written by roman hunter who was her childhood sweetheart. hannah lives in chicago. she has just lost her job and boyfriend all in one day. could u ever go back home is the question she asks herself when she receives the letter. when she goes home to clarksville she meets several people who are so welcoming. her problems of where to stay and a job to support herself mysteriously appears. this book is filled with magic and the wonderful season of christmas. when she finally meets roman again, she believes that there is no going back. but its christmas and miracles do happen.... what i liked about this story is the romance and the history between hannah and roman. they were just so made for each other that u could just literally bang their heads together to make them see reason. roman brother is one character is that completly did an about face. i really didnt expect what happened with him and didnt understand what he did near to the end. it was a total 180. another character i didnt like was mary lee. i just felt like hannah sometimes took what mary lee and taking into account the strong and confident person hannah is wouldnt feel like she would just take especially after roman explained the situation.there was also a bit of an anti climatic feeling to the confrontation with mary lee which just fell flat for me. it felt rushed. would have been more entertained if roman and hannah confronted mary lee with all the lies she had said throughout the years. it was a very good christmas book.
Characters are well developed and make the book magical. Seven years ago Roman wrote a letter to Hannah asking her to meet him at the Harmony House in Georgia on Christmas Eve. Only Hannah who was living in Chicago never received the letter until seven years later when a mysterious man delivers it to her. This mysterious letter comes on the heals of Hannah losing her job and being jilted. With no ties left in Chicago, Hannah packs up & goes back to her Georgia hometown to become involved with a century old story and see what her future holds. Quick read with the magic of Christmas throughout the story.
A second chance romance set at Christmas time in a small town where Christmas miracles happen. Roman Hunter and Hannah Bradshaw were torn apart by lies seven years ago. Now Hannah is drawn back to her Georgia home town by a letter that was delivered seven years to late. This was a heart breaking sweet Christmas romance that will make you smile, laugh and cry. There are some charming secondary characters.
This is a great book, a nice holiday read. Its about a lady Hannah who receives a letter from an elderly man, from her sweetheart at her hometown. She was planning on marrying him years ago, until she found out another woman was carrying his child. She then goes back to her hometown, she needs to talk to him and really just catch up. This book is a very easy read and has a lot of love.
Overall, the book was a good read but the story really dragged on at some points, and there was too much drama at some points. I did enjoy the author's vivid account of the conflicting feelings that the main character goes through.
A quick, easy romance. I read this in about an hour - nothing earth shattering or that forces you to think. What you see is what you get, a typical holiday romance. 2 stars.
