This is like a children's book made for adults that gives a very basic and simplistic breakdown of Israeli-Palestinian history (which is not basic or simple). It's a start and appreciated.

I could not finish this book. After hearing how this was going to be unbiased, I waited to hear the history. When you start with biblical history, and its a short book, you know this is going to be a long slog.

And then heard again, for the umpteenth time this was going to be unbiased. Me thinks the gentleman doth protest too much.

Too simplistic

I want say good things about this, but I can't honestly. I didn't learn anything new. Content was sparse and there were mostly generalities, very wordy filler generalities. Too bad. If this is a "Dummy's guide" it's too simplistic, which comes off sounding pedantic. It could have worked at half the length.

Very informative

Having known little about the technical aspect of this subject I was happy to find a clear and consise explanation in a quick to read book that covered most of my very basic questions.

What I needed to get an understanding of the history behind the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the US's involvement. The anecdotes shed life on real people's experiences and the author presented an unbiased summary of the history. Quick read, with more resources recommended in the back.

Very good and neutral summary of the conflict between Palestine and Israel. Contains definitions, short lists, longer explanations, and a few maps. Also suggests other readings, videos, authors, and websites.

I read the book a second time, but in the paper version where I could benefit from the presence of maps. I can only confirm the judgement: the author perfectly centres the intent of providing with a quick read a clean and objective picture of this important and never resolved international issue.
As for the anecdotes, I did not dislike them, but they are perhaps a bit too many. A small suggestion to the author is to decrease them in the next revision of the book.
