Integrity _ book 5 Reminder: definitely a series! Better to read in order. This has been the most difficult of the books to read from an emotional perspective. I evetually had to 'switch off' or I wouldn't have finished it. Unfortunately there are several errors. Not just with words, but facts relating to the other books. I.e. In the last book we saw someone arrested that is as free as a bird in this book with no explanation as to how that came about. I will say the guy on the cover feels more accurate to the character of Sam than some of the others have been. The story has no real end. It just stops. I didn't appreciate that. And what was there can be classified as a cliffhanger. Onto book 6...
The Wayside dog handler falls back in love with the women he left years ago.
Loved being back on the Wayside Ranch. Sam and Kelly story was one of healing. Though Kelly wasn't ready for it yet. She didn't want to be there with Sam because people were after her. They succeeded in getting her. But Sam, Conner and Edwyn came after her. The guy after her was put away. Sam and Kelly relationship continued to grow. So happy for Junior and Gabby new little one coming. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Going back to Brendan and Eric stories and the rest after Sam. Hope Sam and Kelly finally get a wedding cermony. Loved Zeus too he was a great dog.
This series and the purpose of Wayside Ranch just pulls me in and breaks my heart. To think that it is necessary to have places like this to help victims of human trafficking and depravity. The author draws you in with the story and keeps you returning with the romance, humor, goals, and faith shown by these characters. Reminding yourself that this is fiction helps, but you also understand it is based on events that are happening every day. As much as I hope we get to see the villains all get their comeuppance, that will also mean the end of the series and that will hurt. Thank you, Kari Trumbo for this series and a look at a world we can all hope we never get to know.
While the plot was strong enough to hook me, I have to ask what happened with the editing. Typos, a missed editing mark… this wasn’t what I’ve come to expect from this author. Despite that, as I said, the story was good. I found the pacing a little slower than previous books in the series. It worked well to augment the plot, almost like a heavy pause, waiting for the other shoe to fall. If you don’t mind a slower pace, or the technical issues, and you enjoy a faith-filled, second chance romance, then do check this book out.
Wonderful book of second chances. This book deals with the hard subject of human trafficking as does this entire series. The author handles the subject in a compassionate manner. Sam and Kelly had dated several years earlier. Kelly had slowly been drawn into trafficking when her close friend stole everything in the bank causing her to lose her home and become homeless. Will Sam and Kelly be able to make amends?
Sam is a man of integrity we saw that throughout the story. At times his integrity was hard for Kelly to understand. Yet she grew to depend on that integrity to protect her. This story was difficult to read the harsh world of trafficking, the ugliness and cruelty is heartbreaking. It's a world with so much money involved and it reaches above the law that stirs emotions. God isn't blind and He will impart justice in his timing.
A very good book continuing the fight to out the human traffickers. Kelly has escaped from the captors but is having a hard time getting back into life. She is at the ranch to recuperate and Sam is someone from her past. They reconnect but her past gets in her way! Very sensitive and edgy one so be prepared!
And again a great story in this series. The way this author connects all stories in this series is remarkable, and not just because all the males work on the same ranch. I can’t wait to read the next, even when I didn’t like the main character of next story in this one. I recommend this whole series
This was a tougher read than the rest of the series, as one of the main characters in it was a trafficked victim. The author handled the topic very well, and the book was a great read. It just brought home a bit more the sad reality of sex/human trafficking.
Sam was awesome, and was the perfect guy to handle Kelly and her issues.
I'm so enjoying this series and all the characters of Wayside Ranch. In each of these stories a different person on the ranch has challenge if correcting a regret from their past. The ranch is a haven for victims and there's always danger about. There's dog and horses and much to captivate you. I can't wait to read the next book
Just finished book five, it was great .Each book.in this series just gets better and better. I love that many of the characters go through all the books yet each book provides different problems. Book six promises even more unexpected problems. Cannot wait to.read.
I don’t know what it was about Sam but I felt his pain from the start. Edwyn was being a jerk but I’m glad he figured it out. Oh boy 😬 what’s going to happen to wayside ranch?
Yes, the story was okay. However, if you know anything about grammar or spelling, reading this will make you scream. Even a character's name is misspelled several times. Is there an editor?? I paid for a novel and got a 5th graders book.
It once again brought home the abuse these victims face, and how worthless they often feel. They go back sometimes because they don’t see any other future for them. I loved this story and Sam’s steadfastness!
Another good job on this book by Kari Trumbo it lived up to what is expected of this series. The suspense was mild but still worthy, enough to let your heart beat hard.
