The Camp Report was an updated verson of the long-standing Washington refrain to transform the Continental Army from an ad hoc improvisation into a stable institution. ... The Camp Report was also distinctive for its overall cogency and what might be called its commanding style. Anyone on the lookout for early signs of Alexander Hamilton's conspicuous intelligence and verbal prowess could find it there. But make no mistake: this is NOT a biography of anything other than the American Revolution. There are only major battles included, however. I continue to learn more as I read more. As I've said before, each author gives us this story from a slightly different point of view.
