What a wonderful book for any pre- or post-transplant patient.. Randy Sims’ is both a long term survivor and an inspiring author and public speaker. His story is one of long term survival aided by successful transplant, interwoven with inspiring insights and advice on how attitude, prayerful faith in God and strong family support can make any of life’s challenges not only survivable but springboards to other successes in life.
Randy was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at ten years of age just two years to live. His family gave him a foundation of faith by doing whatever it took to allow him to live each day to its fullest, even at that very young age. With an attitude built on such example, Randy shares with his reader in easy reading about life lessons that illustrate from his own practical application of positive ways of facing life challenges ways the reader can do the same in their own lives, no matter what the challenge. The balance of Randy’s life story with inspiring and motivational messages of hope and success amid difficulty makes this book a perfect gift for anyone, one that will beg to be read and reread with its timeless and upbeat message for living life to its fullest. Every one I have given this book to as a gift from my own heart has made it a permanent part of their own personal library, a true testament to its value and inspiration.
Randy has just celebrated his 40th birthday thanks to a double lung transplant in 1999 that transformed his life. He shares his celebration of competing in the last four US Transplant Games as one of many examples of his new life post transplant.
