Another Great Read
This author simply amazes me. I love everything she puts out. I definitely recommend this author to everyone who is an avid reader. The worlds she builds through her writings are amazing. This was a great story.

Wow. I love this book. Anne and Niyan have such a great attraction to each other. If you love story where if you touch her or think about touching her you die then you should definitely read this book. I loved loved the ending I wasn’t expecting it. You have a strong mmc and a fmc enemies to lovers.

OOH this story was so good!! It was deliciously dark, violent, twisted and depraved. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through, loving every gory and bloody moment of it.
Anne has been kidnapped and going to be sold at a flesh market. Her world has just come crashing down around her, but she tries everything she can to escape her captors. One of her captors, Niyan, has other plans for her.
Niyan is fierce, aggressive, angry, and utterly possessive of Anne. He wants her but he can’t have her so he will do the next best thing and punish her continually.
Anne and Niyan have this connection that starts from hate and morphs into something completely unexpected between them. Anne does everything to fight off Niyan but in the process her feelings towards him start to soften (but only slightly). Their chemistry oozed off the pages and even though it was hot and cold, this made for an even better explosion when they give into the fiery desire and lust they have for each other. SO HOT!!
I absolutely loved this story. It was well written with a gripping story and an ending that left me craving to know more about Anne and Niyan and what their future holds.

It is no surprise that I am a massive YD La Mar fan, so it shouldn't be a surprise that I rated this book five stars.
As someone who will read anything this author writes, I can say with my whole chest that this book is probably her best book yet and one of my new all time favorite reads.
This book took me on an expected emotional journey that I don't think I was prepared to take, but so happy I felt what I did.
Niyan (MMC) is not your typical book boyfriend, but that's what made him the most attractive in my opinion. He wasn't soft, gentle or tender hearted in any way, but the life he has lived hardened him and forged him to be this way. Anne (FMC) goes through an incredible amount throughout the pages of this book, but her journey and time with Niyan and other unsavory characters molds and creates an even better version.
Highly highly recommend this book and the Rise of the Dreads series.

I took my time with this story. For several reasons actually. Part of a larger series, I wanted to ensure I pulled all of the details and filed them in my memory banks. Boy there was so much to unwrap in this book. Anne is the sister of Torrin (Read Fractured Glory if you have not - I insist), kidnapped and forced into the world of sexual slavery.
Purchased by a band of sea dogs, she becomes the focus and/or obsession of Niyan, a sailor indebted to his captain looking for his own freedom. Without giving up the plot, this story includes, violence, kidnapping, dub con, some non-con and supernatural powers used to manipulate others written in such a clever way that I was addicted from the first chapter.
The plot moves rather quickly, and the ending was nothing I expected and everything I could want and more. I was left obsessing over Niyan and his Yalewa for days after. If you like darker fantasy this is a perfect read.

Okay, please read the trigger warnings. Thus is the third book of the Rise of the Dreads series. YD La Mar did a great job bringing us this dark tale of Anne and Niyan.
Anna is a young virgin girl who gets kidnapped and enslaved. The story follows her crazy journey through hell. Niyan is a man that is known as The Executioner, who becomes obsessed with Anne while she is with the crew trying to sell her. Their story brings us to an ending that was unexpected and a complete 180.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the roller coaster it took me on!

This is a dark villain romance, if you go in understanding that you will enjoy this book. YD La Mar doesn't fail with luring you into stories that keep you wanting more, I couldn't put this book down even if I tried read it so quickly.
Anne was captured by men who plan on selling her for coin, one of these men Niyan from the beginning is intrigued by her, but don't think that he lets up on the torture because he doesn't, he thrives off it, if anything he loves it. Anne from the beginning tries her best to get away and does her best to survive the situation she finds herself in, in the end she becomes a whole new person, because after all the torture and pain how could she still be the same person. I think she's going to become someone people will fear more than Niyan!

This author can write about the most unredeemable characters and make me fall for them. A gift? Magic? Not sure, but I absolutely loved this book and, by the end, Niyan as well.
Anna has been taken and is considered to be merchandise by the three men who have her. She was the target because one of the wardeners her brother Torrin (From Fractured Glory, a MUST READ!) works with does not like him.
As the trio prepare to sell the merchandise, Niyan starts to maybe have some feelings for Anne. You know, if he had any.
The story is intense and amazing. I will read everything this author writes!

I thoroughly liked how the book ties into all the other books. Even with the minor details you know what they are referring to with the background references. I was surprised with the ending and how Anne reacted to seeing Torrin. The only reason I gave this book 4 instead of 5 stars was because I couldn’t tell from the male main character’s POV whether he was in love or really wanted to punish Anne. I was confused because of the Fractured Glory book where the main character actually hates Sepawns and thinks they are below him, leading to a very gruesome scene where he proves it. That being said, this book is definitely worth the read!

Niyan and Anne's dynamic runs on the fuel of feral, possessive, hateful lust. It is fantastic and wild. I find such a thrill in seeing a bond form in such an unpredictable, out of pocket manner, and with Niyan's power comes a power dynamic that must have been so fun to play with when writing him. He is capable of using it to do as he pleases, which he does, considering he holds very, very little remorse for his actions... the outcomes are unhinged. Un. Hinged. In this villain gets the girl.

Ohhhh this book. I was so curious what happened to Anne in Fractured Glory. Now I know. This book had me questioning myself and my thoughts. It had me in a grip. I stayed up hours past my bedtime to finish it because I just hadddd to know what happened. I started and finished it in 2 days. I loved it and will be a book I suggest to friends who ask about a book that’s darker. Read the trigger warnings.

No longer the timid girl throughout the story, she finds a strange on and off attraction to her captor Niyan.
This book is spicy 🌶️🌶️, although I'm not sure I enjoy this kind of forced spicyness.
I did enjoy reading through the eyes of Anne and seeing her progress.

There were parts of this that I really, really enjoyed. And overall, it was a good book, but I just wanted more. Things felt rushed and underdeveloped. I wish there had been some buildup to that last chapter, it felt like an afterthought and the ending was very abrupt.

Thid book was shocking and thank God amazing! Skip the one before this it was a waste of time, but this story picks up where Fractured Glory left off! Amazing and hot story telling with an amazing cliffhanger I WANT MORE!

Holy cheese itz!! This freaking book right here!! When you think YD has hit her all time high she comes back with this one to smack you in the face!! Lol this book is EXCEPTIONAL I was so lucky to have gotten to read it. The characters make your head spin, you never know which way this darken plot will take you, and it leaves you panting and begging for more! So full of juicy spice and knee wobbling fun!! You won't regret picking this book up and how fully in love with it you'll be when it ends!
