It's 1990 in Montana. She owns a bookstore. He's a metalhead mountain man. He knows her, but she doesn't remember him. When the wolf howls in the still of the night, she opens her door and lets the beast inside for a taste.
A wolf shifter in the year 1990. How metal.
This is a spicy retelling of Red Riding Hood. 18+ advised.
Mika Rayne was cornfed and raised in Iowa. She lived in Colorado and Louisiana for a bit, and now her home is happily in the Rocky Mountains. She loves cooking, running her cleaning business (she has the best clients ever), taking photos, reading, writing, and being a mom. '80s metal, oldies, grunge, and classical music are her favorites. Inspiration for writing is easy since nature is abundant where she lives. She writes all types of romance tropes. Mika loves her little family more than life.
Man, was this story so freaking good! There was some angst, action, sweet scenes, and some spicy as hell scenes! The way it ended makes me really look forward to Aramis' story!
This was the authors first retelling and shifter romance she has ever written. It fully exceeded my expectations as a reader and lover of shifter romances!
The MMC Malachi was very forward and a little full of himself, I couldn’t get enough! I absolutely loved his and Nora’s banter and chemistry.
Nora quickly became one of my favorite female main characters. She was witty and furiously loyal not only to Malachi but to her best friend Stefanie.
I honestly can’t wait to see what the author does with Aramis’s story and to see what other retellings she may end up doing in the future! Happy Reading!
I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I absolutely love Nora and Malachi 🥰 a beautiful couple. And the spicy scenes? 🥵🔥🔥 I was definitely loving those too. This was a fantastic retelling of the classic fairytale. The one thing I wasn’t the biggest fan of was the ending. I didn’t love that Nora kept this secret from her best friend. Maybe that will be answered in the next story. The setting was awesome, characters were well written. I also felt those group scenes were teasing us a bit 🤭 can’t wait to read the next book!
I've always loved shifter romances but most Wolfie shifters seem so much alike to me in this day and age. This book??? Definitely not like the rest, your emotions will be everywhere! This is was you'd expect when you find out shifters are real. I was laughing then crying then OMG! The spice!!! You'll need a hot shower after meeting Malachi!!! He's such a hot mess!! A smartass mouth! He's just Yummy!!
And Nora is so relatable!! Everything she does and goes through. Makes you think of how you've dealt with certain things in your life.
This book is definitely going on my top list of shifter romances. I just couldn't put this book down!
I thought the plot for this was well done, it doesn't seem outlandish, and it fits its fictional telling very well while keeping it rooted in an actual setting. I'm sure there are racier titles out there, but it was not a mild read by any means. I would recommend this to any enjoyer of romance novels or anyone who enjoys fantasy settings who have not yet trialed a spicy story.
Plot:8/10, very good, just one or two personal discrepancies. Dialog:9/10 at times quipy, I love quipy. Sex:9/10 would've been a 10 but i felt teased at times, I enjoyed it but since I was teased it doesnt get the full 10. Great read.
Let me start off by saying that I listened to this as an audio book & my goodness, Craig Richards is always top notch! Seriously 🫠
What an amazing retelling of Red Riding Hood! I absolutely fell in love with all of the characters right off the bat. They were each so unique, and I couldn't wait to continue reading to see how they developed.
Malachi is ooh so amazing. His soft and sweet side. But also his burly animalistic side, woahhhhh!!
Ohhh, and the spice is spicin' and it helped that, again, it was Craig narrating 🤣 I mean, have you heard this man yet? Lol.
Ravishing Red is an amazing book. This is set back in the 90's with a shifter and his future mate. The characters in this book are amazingly sexy and I love every inch of this book . I'm a big fan of the scene we're Malachi and Nora become mates. This book has twist and turns and will always keep you so interested.
Who doesn't love a spicy retelling. This book has quickly become one of my favorites. Down home girl and a mysterious bad boy with a history she never connected. He fell first. She questions everything. True love in the making.
I love anything supernatural. I love retellings of fairy tales. This one was amazing. Let me tell you Malachi is the man and Lycan, lol. Or as Nora would call him a werewolf.
Nora is the kind of woman you want as a friend and Malachi is the guy every woman wants, well I mean some woman would want. Malachi has a secret and he’s not ready to tell Nora. Nora knows he’s keeping something from her and she finds out and freaks out. Can their love and relationship last or will it break them apart? If you haven’t read go read to find out what happens with them.
Please go show the author some love and support cause she definitely deserves and it. She is an amazing indie author.

This was so much better than the regular red riding hood. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🥵 THIS SPICE WAS SPICY 😈😈😈 metalhead lumber jack yes 🙌🏻 Nora has a BOOKSTORE 🙌🏻 YES Im a sucker for bikers. So again YES I’M HERE FOR IT Malachi is protective and possessive but I’m here for it!! I need more MALACHI AND NORA 🐺🖤
I’m a sucker for reimagining and retelling. Let me tell you this story didn’t disappoint. I was invested from start to end. It does leave in a cliff hanger, which tore my heart. It’s all, I’m going to be thinking about for a while or until I finally get to listen to book 2. I definitely can’t wait for audible book 2 in this series. I definitely recommend the book, if you like red riding hood reimagine story’s with lots of spicy and banter. I love the friendship between the main character and her friend. The romance was kinda like gothic vibes in some points of the story which I ate it up. I also love the romance and the plot, it took some twist and turns that I wasn’t expecting, but that’s what got me more hooked. Craig Richard’s continues to do an amazing job narrating which I’m very pleased of.
MMC Malachi and MFC Nora are an amazing couple! This modern erotic version of LRRH has spice galore and chemistry to boot! Our firey heroine has a temper and independence that our hero just can't ignore.
My issues: As secrets are revealed, I think they could have been explained much better. The repetitiveness of the last 1/3 of the book is too much. It made the ending feel rushed. Finally, we have to wait for Book 2 in order to find out what's happening, which you don't know until you get to the end.
holy moly! what a book. Ravishing Red had me hooked from the start and the characters and storyline leapt off the page but the smut *phew* WOW Mika Rayne sure knows how to make me blush and giggle like a teenager and I love it plus every woman deserves a Malachi Baylor.
*ALC review* This was my 1st story by Mika Rayne, and I was definitely intrigued by her storytelling and reimagination of Little Red Riding Hood. It was set in the 90s, and I enjoyed the trip down memory lane, and I was taken by surprise with the twist about the FMC (no spoilers from me, lol).
I loved the 90's metal twist on this retelling of Red riding hood!
The characters are so fun and relatable now keep in mind this is a paranormal romance (wolf shifters) if this is not your jam that is okay.. but if you are like me, I have a feeling you are going to LOVE this book as much as I do. The Spice is spicin' and Malachi is so dang hot and Nora is so easy to relate too. I seriously couldn't put this book down I devoured it in one day.
I can't wait to see what Book 2 brings to the table...
I couldn't put this one down. It was fun to read about a story set in the 90s. Spooky and spicy and a hero that made me drool. The FMC was a lucky woman to be ravished by the big bad wolf. I want to know what happens in Aramis' story.
This book was a little tough for me. It was my first werewolf book. I’m generally not a fantasy reader. That being said, I am eagerly awaiting Aramis’ story. Maybe I felt more intrigued by him 🤷🏼♀️.
*audiobook format* This was ok for a background, get ready for work/do housework listen.
It felt like it took forever for any real plot action to happen. The first half of the book was just a whole lot of thirst talk, which is fine but I was just waiting for the plot to develop.
I liked it up to the point one of the spice scenes really turned me away. The story was lacking, I was more than half way through the book and I felt bored and nothing interesting was happening. I have yet find a good retelling book, and this book wasn't good at all.
Read this book in 1 day. Can’t wait for the second book ( Arami’s story) to be released. Mika keeps coming out with amazing 🥵 books, she never disappoints 👏🏻 🔥
