"I'm a goalie. You don’t take my position without being tied to your team. Don’t you ever suggest otherwise.” I was a flirting failure. My idea of a hot conversation was discussing the hockey plays of the day. Even if I did try and flirt with a guy, I could guarantee a handful of the team would come razz me if they spotted me. It was like having a posse of big brothers.Except for the new goalie.I had good reason to dislike Quentin Paris. I just wish I could stop thinking about his too-smooth French accent, those deep blue eyes, those giant shoulders in that hoodie, and the effortless smile that ghosted his lips...First Jimmy, now Alex. Your favorite goaltenders are gone, and this guy is taking over. They were your friends. Paris doesn’t give a damn about you. You aren’t a little sister to me, Audrey. You are every inch a beautiful, funny woman. Audrey Cathcart joked and chatted with my new teammates, always ignoring me. I spent the first few weeks on the team wondering what I could have possibly done to provoke such ire from someone who was described as a “sweet” girl.Until we skated together one morning. Her body language and the light in her eyes as she teased me told me the real story. Resentment was not why Audrey worked so hard to get a rise out of me.And could she get a rise out of me.

How about the hero meeting the heroine and still fucking another woman?? Is it too hard to ask for a celibate hero?
How about the hero treating the heroines virginity like a nuisance, not a precious gift that she is his and only his.
How about the ending with no HEA, just them moving into together? Seriously, who wrote this shit? A dude? Cuz so much of this book felt like it was written by a man. It was impersonal, the sex scenes had no emotional connection, no soul, no swoon, the emphasis was all on the physical
And then there was all the adolescent push n pull.
There was also way too much filler, just boring unnecessary crap shoved in that did nothing to move the story along.
There was no swoon, just a waste of time
Not safe. Hero is a manwhore and continues to fuck a sleazy cum dump whore after meeting heroine. And heroine is subjected to her presence even after they break up because the skank slimes her way to another player. Heroine is barely a virgin, has been sexually touched and claimed by OM, just hasnt gone all the way. No sharing, no abuse. No HEA, no babies
I was so excited to read this book! I loved Quinn Paris' brother in the "Just My Type" and was looking forward to reading Audrey and Quinn's book. And it did not disappoint.
Audrey is the media director of a hockey team (that her father owns.) She has a rule that she doesn't date hockey players. She doesn't get too close to anyone and at age 25 she is still a virgin. Quinn Paris is the team's hot new goalie. Audrey is attracted to him but tells herself that she hates him to keep him away and not ruin her reputation at work.
Quinn is a sexy, French-speaking, determined goalie. He is also a very patient and kind man. He can speak French to me any day! Quinn speaking English and French was handled so well, too. I love how he treated Audrey. She was very special and her let her know it. He wouldn't let her talk negatively about herself.
This is a wonderful, steamy read that I thoroughly enjoyed. The hockey game scenes were great, too.
Thank you to the author for an advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Scoreless | @authorskyemcdonald ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ | 🌶️🌶️🌶️ • Had the pleasure of getting an ARC of this & y’all 😏. For the hockey romcom girlies, this one’s for you! A little enemies to lovers, a little secret dating, a hot goalie…oui oui. My first Skye McDonald book & definitely won’t be my last! • “Sparks fly into a fiery fling. But as the season plays out, Audrey and Quinn need to decide the next move. Is there room for love in Quinn’s superstitions and routines? Can Audrey bench her defenses long enough to admit that she’s falling for him? Because the playoffs are coming, and it’s either win . . . or go home alone.”
Oh my goodness - that was such a fun read. It was such a slow burn watching Audrey and Quinn go back and forth with their feelings for each other and slowing warm towards one another. Their chemistry was off the charts and burned up the pages. I just loved how he respected her so much to take things slow and move at a pace she was comfortable with and then call himself out when he realized he was using her.
Normally in a sports based story, you see a little bit of the sport being played, but it's often second to the love story in the book. I feel like this time the game was possibly even a bigger part of the story then their falling in love was, but at the same time their relationship was a huge part of it. Skye did a beautiful job blending both parts together so that one couldn't work without the other.
It was also so much fun getting to see Luke and Megan again, this time through Quinn and Audrey's eyes. They are still happily in love and glowing from it. And Luke is still Luke giving his brother advice in love in his adorably quirky manner.
Every time I pick up a Skye McDonald book I know that I'm going to finish it with a smile on my face and feeling all the feels in my heart once it's done because I've fallen in love with her characters and her stories. And this story did not disappoint me at all - well done Skye!
I want to thank Skye McDonald for providing me an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.
Scoreless was absolutely amazing, just like every other book I've read by Skye. This slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance really "scored" (pun completely intended). Can't wait to read more hockey romances from this outstanding author!
First I would like to thank the author for providing me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is the story of Audrey who works for her dad's hockey team and has loved growing up around hockey and the guys on the team, being the resident "little sister" and NEVER dating hockey players. That is until the new goalie, Quinn, is brought in and he starts causing all sorts of chaos for Audrey as he doesn't treat her like the others and its a bit too attractive to ignore. As the season progresses Audrey and Quinn need to decide the next move. Is there room for love in Quinn’s superstitions and routines? Can Audrey bench her defenses long enough to admit that she’s falling for him? Because the playoffs are coming, and it’s either win . . . or go home alone.
What I Love: Quinn, he's my new book boyfriend and there are to many reasons why to list here so just read the book and you will get it French, I love that Quinn and Audrey both speak English and French together cause she can always understand him where others can't "Breakup", like any romance book this had a breakup but it was refreshing to see 1) where it was in the story and 2) the reconciliation Hockey Romance, I have read my fair share of hockey romances but I ADORED how focused on the actual hockey this book was cause sometimes I think sports romances are a bit light on the actual sport but even as a non-hockey fan it made me want to catch a game Relationship reveal, I really liked how everyone eventually found out that Quinn and Audrey were together not only was it letting everyone know but how they claimed each other as "theirs" Stella, Audrey's best friend and voice of reason not only does she encourage Audrey she is hilarious and is everything a best girl friend should be Spicy, this book has a good amount of spice with a lot of interesting positions, toys, etc. so even though it took a bit to get there it was well worth it.
Anyone out there who loves a hockey romance or are looking into getting their toes wet in the trope this is the book for you. Even if sports romances aren't your thing, I can guarantee you will find something to love in this story. I can see this being a re-read for me in the near future and I can't wait to see what this author has in store next!
Quinn was sweet (well, only to Audrey) and yet also so hot, I loved his quirks / superstitions and his connection with family. The challenges that Audrey faced being seen as "the little sister" of the team and the struggle to be taken seriously was well written.
Plenty of substance to the hockey aspects in the book, as well as hot scenes, both of which were appreciated.
I really enjoyed the scattering of French throughout, and how translations were also included naturally within the characters dialouge, it meant I didn't have to either wonder what had been said, or manually translate it.
I did struggling a little to get into the book at the start, however I am so glad that I persevered, it ended up being a great read, there is some drama toward the end (not to do with their relationship, but rather a hockey game) that I did not see coming, I found it to be very original and quite emotional and I thought it really added to the story.
Polar Bears, Reindeer, Christmas PJs, a cute nickname, you will have to read it to understand the references.
This is the first book I have read by Skye McDonald, but I will definitely be reading more.

This book is related to the Anti-Belle series and focuses on Quinn and Audrey. Quinn is a talented goalie that has been called up from a minor level team to the Connecticut Commodores. Audrey is the daughter of the owner of the team and also the media manager for the team. Audrey has always been the little sister of the team and surrounded by overprotective brothers, which made her dating life difficult. When Quinn joins the team, both of their lives change for the better. I love the progression of their relationship and how this story has plenty of actual hockey play in it! It was so refreshing to read a hockey romance where the game play is included in the story. This was my first read by this author but I will now have to go back and read the rest of the Anti-Belle series! This was a great story with great characters.

Quinn Paris & Audrey Cathcart have an instant attraction to each other from the beginning, but they mask it with their sassy banter and Audrey thinks Paris is just messing with her. Audrey’s father bought the Commodores after her mother passed away, so Audrey has grown up being treated like a little sister by the team, but Quinn clearly does not see her as a little sister. Can they move forward with his quirky goalie superstitions, teasing hockey team big brothers, his crazy fans, her self doubt, and even a group of deranged hockey purists with their conspiracy theories. With so many possibilities to get in the way, how will Quinn be able to stay focused on the game. Will they be able to find a way to win in love & the game? I really enjoyed reading their story. The characters’ witty banter and quirky habits were fun to read. The passion and love that these two share is the kind that can’t be denied. Loved it and didn’t want to put it down.

Hockey and romance , great combination.Hockey Goalie meets Audrey along with the players because it’s her dad’s Team .The team look at her as a sister. She’s been around a lot of hockey players growing up , they’re protective of their adopted sibling. She’s too beautiful to him to think of her as familial. She has her own FaceOff with him on the ice one morning’s skate and it’s nice to feel the energy of their chemistry. Body checking back and forth until the crescendo after taking it slow , burns the flames of desire. Brilliant writing , good storytelling and a great reading experience.

Gah this romantic comedy sports read was the best and I loved it. I mean the goalie total swoon worthy. For me this book had just the right amount of steam, hockey and suspense. One other thing I absolutely enjoyed was the relationship progression between the main characters. They were perfect for each other. The writing was flawless with an excellent storyline. I highly recommend reading this.
This is my first time reading Skye McDonald, but I’ll definitely be looking for her books from here on out!
The characters were so unique and realistic that you just get sucked into the story. Quinn has such a well balanced personality, serious when it’s time to work or have an important conversation, but fun and flirty whenever possible. And you can just hear that French accent whenever he speaks. Audrey is not the typical heroine you see in romances, but she’s definitely one of my favorites. She’s been career-driven for so long that her dating life just kind of never got started and she can’t seem to get it going now.
Scoreless also features multiple hockey scenes that are actually realistic! Other hockey romances that I’ve read have maybe one or two actual hockey scenes that are very short with unrealistic feats accomplished by MMC.
I love hockey romance so I was excited to read Scoreless by Skye McDonald. I am so glad I did! Despite the cold of the ice, Quinn and Audrey's story will definitely warm you up. There was an intense and smoking hot chemistry between Audrey and the new goalie. Audrey has grown up around hockey and the players all treat her as a sister. But the feelings Quinn has for her are definitely not brotherly. His focus should be on blocking pucks but Audrey is quickly becoming his priority. Great read. Will be reading their story again.
Gosh why is everyone obsessed with hockey romances?? *reads this book* Oooooh I get it. This sh1t is HOT. Spicy, sweet, naughty, forbidden fun. I loved the big brute that was our MMC. What wasn’t there to love? His patience, kindness, understanding, and the absolute rage he displayed in the rink. I’m not normally a fan of virgin FMCs, but this was tastefully done, and it made sense as part of the story. Their chemistry was red hot and so much fun to read. Another heck yeah banger of a book from Skye McDonald!
Audrey is the media director for a pro hockey team, Quinn is the newly acquired goalie and the most distracting, scorching hot player to catch her attention. Audrey has fought hard to be taken seriously on her merits and not because her father is the owner of the team, so it’s especially important to her that she not give into her attraction to Quinn, or she fears she’ll lose all credibility with the team, her father, and the rest of the organization. The more time they spend together the harder it is to stay away. This was a sexy, funny, entertaining read. Skye McDonald has become one of my favorite authors, and well written hockey romances are my jam. I was fortunate to receive an advance reader copy from the author and bookfunnel, and I’m pleased to share my honest impressions.
While I question some of this author’s tastes in goalkeepers… (Brodeur? Really?) No one will question having a thing for Quinn Paris. Not even Mrs Quentin Paris on Instagram.
This one was cute and sweet, definitely steamy. Audrey was fun and quirky even if it would have been nicer to see her be…more. But she was down to earth in all kinds of good ways.
I enjoyed the authentic feel of a character who speaks two languages, thinks in two languages and the speech patterns that would be and seem natural. That he could feel confused sometimes by our crazy, continuously beaten down version of English “why do you make me feel feels?” *sigh*
Just a lot of fun and fast-paced enough to get through in one sitting. A great read in the off season… ⭐️
pros: goalie (which is a player criminally underrepresented in hockey romances) with a french accent, mostly great communication, easy to read and to want to pick up
cons: audrey often felt quite 2 dimensional, the writing would fluctuate between fine and juvenile, and i didn’t really care about any of the supporting cast of characters
OMG - the slow burn on this one is SO good! Audrey has grown up around her father's hockey team. Now she works in the PR department for the team. She's friends with all the players, and they all treat her like a little sister. That's great because they're very protective of her, but not so great when they promise to hurt any guy who messes with her. When they first meet, Audrey wants to hate Quinn. After all, he's coming onto the team as the new goalie to replace two of her friends. She can't deny, though (to herself, at least) that she feels some attraction, but she makes every effort to shove that down. Quinn, however, is more than sure of his feelings for Audrey. And he knows from the fire in her eyes that the hate is just a cover for something else. But he enjoys playing cat and mouse with her, none the less. Making her blush is his new favorite pastime. Quinn is a goalie, which means he's even more intense than the rest of the team. He feels the weight of every loss- every goal against him, really- on his (broad) shoulders. He has his routines and his superstitions, and he lives in his head a lot of the time, especially after a game, replaying it over and over in his mind's eye. He also has a way of ignoring people when he's in his head space, and he doesn't want to talk to anyone then, especially the press. Audrey understands that. Unfortunately, it is her job to get him to talk to the press, and to interview him herself for the team bio. The more they talk and get to know each other, the more he realizes she's getting in his head space too. The banter between them was so funny, and I loved how they would slip between English and French, and she was the only one who could understand him. Little things Quinn would say were so cute, and it made it even better to imagine him speaking with a French Canadian accent. Hearing that voice in my head was EVERYTHING! Both of them were worried how the team would react to them being together, but when that finally happened, it ended up being a wonderful moment. I just wanted to jump up and down for them! I also really appreciated that there was quite a bit of hockey played in this hockey romance. Not that I've watched the sport a day in my life, but it was refreshing, especially with the details that were included. This was an enjoyable read, and now I want to go back and read Luke's story! I received an advance copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.
HOLY WOWZERS! This is my first Skye book but it will not be the last, that’s for sure. I haven’t enjoyed a book this much in MONTHS. I couldn’t put it down. If I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it. I am so sad to be done but it was SO GOOD. I will FOREVER be raving about this book. I literally got butterflies in the first 12% of the book. Like GIRL HOW?!? LOVED ITTTT. Audrey and Quinn will forever hold a place in my heart. I have truly never loved a fictional relationship more.
Quinn is such a character…maybe I should have a thing for goalies??? I loved his compassion, superstition, loyalty, and the way he completely throws himself into the game and Audrey. If he’s on the ice or with her he is 100% ALL IN. Quinn Paris is hot, sexy, funny, and he speaks French. What more could you want? Quinn, you can French me anytime and any day. This man had me kicking my legs and giggling like a teenager y'all. Seriously though...where can I find a Quinn? Are goalies actually like this and where can I apply for one?
I loved Audrey equally as much as Quinn, which I find quite odd. There is always one character that drives me insane, but at the very least I usually like one main character more than the other. Nope, not this time. They are completely different and I love them equally. I love her relationship with the team and how she gets to work with Quinn and her father. I love that the guys see her as a sister, and when Quinn said he would never see a familial bond between them from the FIRST time they met??? OH LORDDD. I really enjoyed the scenes where the players messed with her for “crushing on Quinn”. And the scene where the finally told everyone??? That is forever ingrained in my memory and I will gladly keep it that way.
I literally have ZERO bad things to say about this book. Other than…it was too hard to put down? Like come one give a girl a sleep break 😂. I would think I was finally at a spot where I could put it down and go to sleep, but nope. The end of the chapters have cliffhangers and something juicy is ALWAYS happening. I demand more Auds and Quinn right now!
I enjoyed the story in this book. Audrey, the daughter of the hockey team’s owner, and a PR employee for the team, was antagonistic to the new goalie, Quinn, when he joined the team. Of course there was more to the attraction they both felt, but Quinn was focused on performing for his new team and Audrey still believed she hated him. “‘I think we don’t know each other beyond you insulting me and us with our hands on each other. That is not the same as disliking someone.’” The main characters were engaging and had a very interesting relationship journey. The relationship Audrey had with the team as their little sister was entertaining. There was some compelling hockey content without being too overwhelming for a reader without much hockey knowledge. “All my focus and practice were useless if I didn’t remember how much I loved the game.” It was very interesting to see more from a goalie’s perspective. “Goalies were practically a different species.” All the extra focus and details. The superstitions. This is the first goalie hockey romance I have read. It was also fun to get a bit of Québécois French in the story. I really loved the plot event that brought about the resolution. It was creative and compelling. This is a very detailed open door romance. It involved many intimate scenes, which is often something that leaves me feeling like a book sacrificed storyline, but in this case there was a significant progression in the intimacy that was organically part of the plot. So it was more than I was looking for, but it did work. There is significant innuendo and frequent strong harsh language.

This is a rounded up 4.75 star read. Scoreless is my first read by Skye McDonald and I’ll definitely be trying more of her books. The FMC Audrey is assigned to primate hockey goalie Quinton. She convinced herself she won’t and shouldn’t fall for him, surprise is one her. Quinton the MMC is a goalie for the local hockey team. He is set up with Audrey to promote his role on the Connecticut Commodores. The book is a fun, romantic quick read if you enjoy witty romances. Skye McDonald’s writing is exceptional, her plot is extraordinary and her character driven narrative is intriguing. Unlike Audrey Quinton known as Quinn is more willing to admit to being drawn to a Audrey and attracted to her. Audrey sees herself as a female in a man’s world in the way she convinces herself at first to resist the feeling between Quinn and her. Tropes which would draw reader in are sports, workplace/office romance, contemporary romance, enemies to lovers, hockey romance, witty banter, Hockey Goalie; Virgin FMC (no purity culture); No 3rd act breakup; "f" buddies to lovers and Sizzle to the slow burn. I highly recommend scoreless by Skye McDonald, give it a try next time you pick up a book. Audrey and Quinn are not the typical enemies to lovers romance but fit the tripe in unique way compared to others works with the trope.
While not a technical 'book five' in the Anti-Belle series, both the FMC and MMC are tied to characters from previous books. While it is not necessary to have read any of the Anti-Belle novels, it does help to gain context for a few of the other characters! I loved Just Your Type and was so happy that Luke's brother--Quinn, our MMC of Scoreless--got his own book!
As usual the writing style just sucks you into the book, and I absolutely loved the personality on Quinn. The things that came out of his mouth were positively sinful and the French accent/dual-language was phenomenally well done. I enjoyed that this book was a hockey book and actually contained instances of *gasp* hockey being played. So many hockey books are marketed as thus, but don't actually contain any hockey, and I appreciated that Scoreless did. I found that it took a bit for the FMC to grow on me, I just found her a bit naive and young-acting at points, but enjoyed her character growth as the book progressed. This was a fun and quick read that was both heartfelt and steamy. I loved it!
This was a phenomenal story! I loved the by play between the main characters. The story was a perfect mix of steam, hockey and suspenseful anticipation. Highly recommend! Must read!
Audrey Cathcart works in the PR department for the Connecticut Commodores professional hockey team. Her father owns the team. All the players treat her as a younger sister making it difficult for her to date. She says she will never date a hockey player.
Quentin/Quinn Paris was just called up from a minor team to be the starting goalie for the Commodores. He is French-Canadian and has a smexy accent. He has all the typical goalie personality traits - doesn't speak much, tends to be a loner, is hyper focused, and is obsessed by any mistakes he makes during a game.
Audrey strongly disliked Quinn when he first joined the team. Quinn had a casual agreement with an ice dancer but was attracted to Audrey even though he thought she was dating another player. They eventually start a friends with benefits/fake relationship. As their relationship becomes real they both catch feelings. During a playoff game the team is threatened and their relationship becomes public. They get their HEA.
This delightful hockey-themed romance novel captures the heart with its charming narrative. Audrey, who has been immersed in the world of hockey through her father's team, finds herself in a captivating dilemma when Quinn, the team's new goalie, arrives. Despite the unspoken rule that players are to steer clear of her, the spark between Audrey and Quinn is undeniable. Quinn's allure, characterized by his good looks, charming flirtations, and endearing personality, makes it challenging for Audrey to keep her distance. As their secret romance blossoms, the inevitable moment when their relationship comes to light leaves readers pondering if fate has destined them to be together. Diving into this author's work for the first time, I was thoroughly impressed! The book strikes a perfect harmony between the intricacies of romance and the dynamic world of sports.

MMC/FMC- Quinn and Audrey POV- 1st person dual Genre- Contemporary Romance Sub Genre- Sports Romance (hockey) Heat- 🌋🌋🌋🌋 with lots of visits to Australia Series? Y Safety? Y Triggers: On-ice violence, kidnapping, language in two languages, explicit erotic content. Tropes- Enemies to Lovers, Virgin Heroine, Secret Relationship, #nogoals What I thought- the heroine really grew during the course of the novel. She started off being painfully young for her age sometimes, and with sadly low confidence. She became more mature and confident as the story progressed, and it was great to watch. The hero and heroine were a good match and the chemistry was crazy good. The story had enough hockey in it to keep me interested and enough romance to keep me happy.

I just finished Scoreless by Skye McDonald and let me tell you… this one had me hooked from beginning to end 🏒🔥
Audrey and Quinn’s story was such a rollercoaster. I was literally on the edge of my seat during the scene when the hockey team was trapped in the locker room by those crazy people 😳 my heart was racing! But the part that completely melted me was when, after everyone was safe, Audrey ran straight to Quinn and kissed him in front of everybody. She didn’t care who saw them, she just cared that he was okay. 🥹❤️ That moment was everything raw, brave, and the perfect way to “come out” as a couple.
Skye McDonald gave us tension, swoon-worthy romance, and a story full of heart. Definitely a 4⭐️ read for me!
It was easy to like Audrey as we were invited into her self deprecating description of why someone trying to flirt with her at the bar was not going to be successful. When Quinn approaches her their somewhat awkward exchange, and her internal dialog was so much fun to read, pulled me in and made me look forward to their love story. How was Audrey going to get out of her way and admit to herself that she is attracted to Quinn in spite of her rule that she would not date hockey players. It is clear from the start that Quinn sees her and it was fun watching him take the time to see him as her love interest as well. This was such a fun read.
