I selfishly enjoyed this because its main focus was on my particular sun(and rising) sign. Usually books like these talk in generalities but this one zooms in on personality traits and how to combat certain negative traits that can overwhelm one prone to them. There’s a purifying room spray recipe that I need to make asap and there’s also a lasagna recipe - wasn’t expecting that! - that sounds amazing, several protective measures and an in-depth look at how your sun, moon and rising signs all work together. You’ll need your birth chart done in order to get the most use out of this book. There’s lots more too. I don’t keep many books hanging around but I’m going to hang onto this one for future reference. If you’re not a Pisces witch, no worries, there’s a book for every sign in this series.

- nice & light easy to hold text is ok to read harder to read the white against the darker colour for me

- love the colours and styling of the pages it's so pretty

- facts and information are easy to understand though i did need to read up on some things as I'm new to astrology

-love the spells and activities included i look forward to trying them in my own time and will vlog me doing that

-so funny to read pisces are good at the things I'm naturally drawn to. Glamour manifestation dreamwork intuition and energy magick

- cannot believe a lot of crystals i love like carnelian and moss agate are for opposite signs and are good for balancing and grounding us flighty and dreamy pisces

- loved how each part gave you versions of basic witchcraft as a pisces. For example waterfall cleansing from protective white light which I've done for years in the shower

As far as a beginners guide, this book did a lot of things right. It starts of reinforcing the fact that you are NOT just your sun sign, you are a culmination of your entire chart and just because you are one sign IT IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR BAD BEHAVIOR!

The correspondences were thoughtful, great analogies were made to help better understand personality aspects. I really enjoyed the balance of “yes while you may be good at X, that means you must be cautious of Y”. Surely a reader can just ignore the negative aspects, but they’re listed there so those who are more open to the fact that no one shits butterflies can take those warnings in stride.

I came to Pisces Witch from a slightly unusual angle because Pisces isn't my Sun sign, it's my Moon sign. I had already read Aquarius Witch for my Sun and loved what Ivo Dominguez Jr. did with the series, and I was already a huge admirer of both Dominguez and Mat Auryn. So when I saw that the two of them had written the Pisces volume together, I was probably the easiest possible audience. What I didn't expect was how differently this book would hit me. Aquarius Witch felt like recognizing the way I move through the world. Pisces Witch felt much more private, like recognizing the part of myself underneath all of that.

Dominguez and Auryn are particularly well matched here because neither reduces Pisces to the dreamy, emotional mystic of pop astrology. They explore intuition, compassion, imagination, sensitivity, permeability, creativity, spirituality, and psychic receptivity alongside the challenges that can accompany those qualities. There is a great deal of attention to managing energy, cleansing and shielding, recovering when overwhelmed, recharging, self-care, and understanding how Piscean sensitivity can become a magical strength when it is consciously directed. As someone with a Pisces Moon and a strong interest in psychic development, there were places where I felt almost comically called out.

I especially loved Auryn's contributions because psychic and energetic sensitivity are treated as abilities that require management rather than romantic qualities that magically take care of themselves. Pisces can absorb. Pisces can merge. Pisces can become so receptive to another person, an environment, a spirit, or an emotional atmosphere that determining where the self ends can become difficult. The material on cleansing, shielding, what sets Pisces off, and recharging therefore felt like much more than generic magical self-care. It addresses the practical problem of having a consciousness that naturally opens toward what surrounds it. For someone interested in psychic work, that is incredibly useful.

Dominguez brings the astrological architecture that made me love Aquarius Witch in the first place. He explains how the Sun powers magick, provides Piscean correspondences, explores timing and tarot, and, importantly for me, includes substantial material on the Moon and rising signs. I appreciated that enormously because it means the book remains useful even when Pisces isn't your Sun. Reading the Moon material while actually having a Pisces Moon made the whole project feel much more multidimensional. A natal chart is a conversation between placements, and I like that the series eventually acknowledges that complexity rather than pretending the Sun sign explains everything.

There are also enough actual practices to keep this from becoming an extended personality profile. The Neptunian Eye Pillow, purifying room spray, water work, charging practice, ritual for meeting the spirit of Pisces, anointing oil, and Auryn's Luring Your Energy Back spell all translate Piscean themes into things you can actually do. I particularly liked the repeated relationship with water because Pisces can so easily become an abstract metaphor for intuition and emotion. Here water becomes something you can physically and magically work with: receptive, impressionable, cleansing, flowing, and capable of carrying intention.

The multiple contributors are another strength. Pisces is being described by Pisces practitioners rather than entirely from the outside, so different expressions of the sign emerge throughout the book. Some are mystical, some practical, some funny, some deeply sensitive. That variety matters because astrology becomes tedious when everyone with the same placement is expected to manifest an identical personality. The book gives you a collection of Piscean possibilities and lets you recognize yourself where the resonance actually exists.

Having now read Aquarius Witch for my Sun and Pisces Witch for my Moon, I actually appreciate the concept of this series even more. Aquarius Witch helped me think about how my independence, unconventional thinking, and intellectual approach shape my witchcraft. Pisces Witch helped me recognize the intuitive, psychic, imaginative, and profoundly receptive current underneath it. I already knew I loved the work of Ivo Dominguez Jr. and Mat Auryn individually, but putting them together for Pisces was almost unfairly perfect. This is exactly what I want from magical astrology: enough structure to help me understand the placement, enough nuance to recognize myself within it, and enough actual witchcraft to teach me what to do with that understanding once I have it.

Pisces has suffered terribly at the hands of astrology memes. Apparently we are dealing with a population of weeping mermaids who cannot answer text messages because Neptune made them dissociate. Ivo Dominguez Jr. and Mat Auryn thankfully begin from the much more interesting proposition that the qualities traditionally associated with Pisces can describe actual magical capacities. Sensitivity can become perception. Imagination can become a means of shaping consciousness. Porousness can allow communion, empathy, and psychic reception. The difficulty is learning how to use those qualities without being swallowed by them.

That last problem is where the book became most useful to me. Psychic sensitivity sounds terribly glamorous until you consider what it means to have difficulty determining which emotions are yours, to absorb the atmosphere of every room you enter, or to remain so open that other people continually occupy more of your attention than you do. The emphasis on cleansing, shielding, boundaries, and managing one's power is therefore not incidental to the Pisces material. It is the necessary counterweight to all that receptivity. I liked that the authors do not simply congratulate Pisces witches for being intuitive and send them floating off toward the astral plane. Sensitivity without boundaries is not spiritual advancement. Sometimes it is just exhaustion.

The pairing of Dominguez and Auryn makes particular sense. Ivo tends to look at astrology structurally, asking what a sign is doing within a larger system and how its qualities can be worked with deliberately. Auryn approaches much of the same territory through psychic development, imagination, energetic awareness, and magical practice. Pisces is almost suspiciously well suited to the overlap between them. The result is at its best when astrology stops describing personality and starts suggesting technique. If this is how your consciousness naturally tends to move, how might you build magic that works with that movement rather than constantly fighting it?

The contributor model helps too. One of the limitations of Sun-sign books is that no single author can prevent a sign from eventually turning into a personality costume. Having different practitioners contribute stories, recipes, exercises, spells, and rituals gives Pisces more than one face. Some pieces landed much more strongly for me than others, which is probably inevitable in an anthology-like structure, but I preferred that unevenness to reading two hundred pages in which every Pisces apparently shares the same mystical operating system.

I do wish the book pushed harder against Sun-sign essentialism in places. Nobody is only their Sun. A Pisces Sun with a Capricorn Moon and Gemini rising may experience these qualities quite differently from someone whose chart is saturated with water, and experienced astrologers already know that. As a book in a twelve-volume Sun-sign series, however, it has to accept a certain amount of artificial isolation in order to explore one piece of the chart deeply.

What I ultimately liked was its refusal to treat Pisces softness as weakness. There is power in permeability when you can choose when to become permeable. There is power in imagination when you can direct it. There is power in compassion when compassion includes boundaries. And there is considerable magical potential in a consciousness capable of slipping between symbol, intuition, dream, emotion, and psychic impression without insisting that only one of them is real. The fish need not stop swimming. They just need to know which waters they are in.

As a Pisces, I loved it. I expected to use it more like a reference and cherry pick pages here and there. I read the whole thing from cover to cover.

Pisces Witch is a beautiful and deeply resonant guide to the magical possibilities of the final sign of the zodiac. Ivo Dominguez Jr. and Mat Auryn understand Pisces as far more than sensitivity, dreaminess, and vague intuition. They explore its relationship with imagination, mysticism, compassion, dissolution, creativity, altered states, spirituality, and the unseen currents connecting people and worlds. As a Pisces and a huge fan of both authors, I was delighted to find a book that treats these qualities with such depth and respect.

What makes this volume so special is the way it turns astrological symbolism into lived practice. The rituals, spells, meditations, correspondences, and exercises invite the reader to work with Piscean qualities rather than merely read about them. Water, dreams, psychic perception, empathy, liminality, surrender, and healing become doorways into a personal craft. Dominguez brings his years of astrological and magical wisdom, while Auryn’s approach to psychic development and practical technique gives the book a beautifully embodied dimension. I also love that Dominguez’s zodiac series gives each sign its own volume and authorial voice, making this collaboration feel like a particularly wonderful meeting of perspectives.

This is an enchanting, generous, and masterfully written book. It understands the Piscean gift for moving between worlds while also honoring grounding, boundaries, and discernment. I found the book affirming without becoming sentimental and mystical without losing practical substance. Pisces Witch made me especially glad to be a Pisces. It is an essential book for Pisces witches and a luminous example of what astrological witchcraft can become when it is approached with depth, imagination, and respect.

Good introductory book that has a formulaic chapter structure with obvious copy and pasted text for repeat prompt sections, such as the chapter titled "The Sway of Your Moon Sign," which has the typo on page 98 of "Virgo Sun." Thankfully the text beyond that point is individualized for the sun sign, at least for that chapter and the one on rising sign. ...Okay, upon further examination of also the Scorpio and Cancer books, they have nearly the exact same text for all the chapters written by Ivo Dominguez, Jr, which are the same chapters that appear throughout the series, just changing the sign and relevant corresponding info, such as dates, solar objects, herbs, etc. (And not sure why the Cancer Appendix would list Pluto and the Sun as planetary correspondences...)

The good: the other chapters are written by corresponding sun sign authors which does individualize each of the books, which I like better than the Elements of Witchcraft series. And I do like the intro noting that you don't have to agree with any or all of way the craft for that sign is presented in the book but maybe you can learn a bit about yourself and new approaches that can enhance one's practices.

Coming from an astrology to craft perspective, it's a good starter, quick read and nice exposure to other authors/rabbit holes to explore. Just not sure I'll read beyond my major three of this series, given the large TBR stacks lying everywhere.

This was okay. It felt very much like a witchcraft 101 book (and, I suppose, it sort of is?).

I found myself wanting more and wanting the author and contributors to go deeper than they did. We skimmed the surface here and gave a very simple introduction to Piscean witchery.

This was a solid start!

Read this cover to cover (vs working through it since I got it from the library). It was an enjoyable read, my favourite take away were all of the correspondences with my Sun Sign.

At this time, only one ritual called to me. I wouldn't mind having this book on my shelf though and seeing if any of the other rituals appealed to me at a different time.

There was one major typo where they said "Virgo Sun Sign" when they clearly meant Pisces - whoops.

this is a quick little read. the most useful parts for me were the combination of sun and moon signs and of sun and rising signs as they relate to witchcraft, and the concept of the spirit of your sun sign.

I don't know that I identified with all of it, but it definitely provided some food for thought as far as associating my sign more with my practice.
