Ethony Dawn’s Tarot Grimoire is like a spellbook, Tarot guide, and magical workshop all wrapped into one, making it a treasure trove for witches and Tarot readers looking to bring more intention and magic into their practice. Ethony’s approach is refreshing because she doesn’t just teach you how to read the cards—she shows you how to live them, using the deck as a blueprint for manifesting change and magic in your life. It’s rare to find a book that’s both comprehensive and creative, but she strikes that balance beautifully.

What makes this book special is its structure. Each of the 78 cards has its own spread and accompanying spell, which completely changes the way you approach the deck. Instead of being confined to static meanings, every card becomes an invitation to tap into its unique energy through hands-on magic. I loved experimenting with her spreads, which aren’t your usual three-card draws—they’re carefully crafted layouts that feel like they’re pulling the essence of each card to the surface. One of my favorites was her Moon card spread for illuminating hidden truths, which led to insights I wouldn’t have expected from a standard reading.

The spells, too, are thoughtfully designed. Ethony gives enough room for personalization, which is key if you’re the kind of practitioner who likes to tweak rituals to fit your style. I tried her Lovers card spell for deepening relationships, and what struck me was how she blends traditional correspondences with practical steps, making the ritual feel both magical and grounded. It’s not just “light this candle and wait”—there’s a real sense of engagement and purpose behind each spell, which makes the magic feel truly potent.

What I also appreciate is how she integrates correspondences like crystals, herbs, and colors into every section, so the book becomes a quick reference for building out more complex spells and rituals. Even if you’re not casting spells directly with the cards, her insights into how each arcana can influence different areas of your life offer plenty of food for thought. It’s the kind of book you can dip into when you need inspiration for spellwork or want to add some Tarot magic to your everyday routine.

That being said, the book is definitely more suited for practitioners who are comfortable with both Tarot and spellcasting. Ethony writes with the confidence of someone who assumes you know your way around a spell circle, so beginners might feel like they need to do a bit of homework first. But for those who already have a foundation in Tarot or witchcraft and are looking to marry the two, Tarot Grimoire is exactly the kind of guide that will keep your practice vibrant and evolving. It’s a book you’ll want to keep close, ready to inspire the next spread or spell whenever the mood strikes.

Enthony makes tarot easy, understandable and the spells are perfect for anyone, beginners and seasoned. The art she chooses always is gorgeous. Plus I'm just a fan of her tarot cards and just her in general. Highly recommend her to anyone.
