Another very fantastic volume!
I definitely appreciated the stakes at the end that come with Zen being a "punk" and how things will not always be easygoing. I also loved how Risa spoke up about her feelings and how it led her to want to protect and be there for him.
Truly, she is opening up so much, and I adored the scene where she is at Zen's place and sees his family. The way they all welcomed her and encouraged her to lean on them really touched my heart. Honestly, the whole conversation Zen and Risa had was wonderful because all homes truly are different, and I love that Zen was able to share that with her. <3
I think one of my favorite parts of this volume was how Risa "hung out" with one of Zen's friends! Granted, I say that VERY loosely, but I thought it made a fun part of this volume and getting to know the other characters better!
Overall, I deeply enjoyed this volume and can't wait to read the next!

I love stupid bold cute and brave Zen so much. Idk where he stand but he’s a boyfriend material. This is exceptional work unlike the usual storyline and characters in mangas and i am enjoying it so much. I couldn’t know what’s next and what i m hoping. The second lead syndrome hitting me so hard gosh .. the bad guy who never fall in love fell for the girl, not to mention a girl of his enemy. But he’s so cute and flustering around her.. have a soft spot for her . Now who should i love more? Zen or his enemy? 😭♥️✨👍

Being locked out of her house sees Risa spending the night at Zen’s, which promises a sudden introduction to his family. But Fumiya is still inserting himself in the narrative in ways you’re likely expecting.
Ah, well, it couldn’t stay perfect forever, I suppose. Despite maintaining its core strengths of two pretty great characters, this volume finally takes on a few of the usual beats of the genre and doesn’t suffer, precisely, but it’s not the slam dunk of the first three outings.
Oh, some of the flashes of greatness remain, don’t get me wrong. The 4-koma recap that opens the book sets the bar very high, but high bars are nothing for this story. Risa versus claw game later on is also one of the truly great character moments I’ve seen lately.
And Zen and Risa are consistently adorable together, with him being a bit less rough from her influence and her learning to live a little more because of his. Risa stands up for herself constantly, Zen treats her so well and respects her. They’re a really sweet couple.
So what’s the problem? The problem is twofold. One, some of the series’ typically delightful humour falls utterly flat. Two, it has so far been just the best about avoiding tropes such that when it wades into them more here it becomes shockingly distracting.
On the humour front, it’s mostly at the start when Risa is staying over at Zen’s. Some of the silliness is there, but the whole thing about Zen’s mom and her hobbies (and Risa’s reaction to that hobby) are just so, so ‘who cares’ for me. I think it was worth trying, but doesn’t pay off at all. There’s a shocking paucity of reaction shots too.
Despite his relegation to ‘mope who wants to be a rival but is bad at it’, Fumiya kind of still does all the same things that would entail, up to and including getting a near-date. The mystery of Risa’s lost keys from the beginning goes exactly where you think it does.
And the last part of the book devolves into one of those rival gang things that is so overdone by this point. I mean, it feels like this happens every other volume of Crossplay Love: Otaku x Punk, so it wasn’t very exciting to see it here.
Sure, Zen has a great entrance and Risa gets to be the hero for part of it, not that her actions would get much traction in the real world, but it’s all rather flat and hinges on the sort of coincidence the story has already used with Fumiya. That sort of thing happens a lot in manga, but in such a hitherto brilliant series it doesn’t work at all.
And there’s Risa’s awkward fumbling around after the idea of intimacy comes up, which makes for some drama and some sight gags and is pretty lame because she’s been such a unique character to this point. It doesn’t really amount to a whole lot in the course of the volume either except an arbitrary stumbling block.
Yeah, it’s still a good story, but even ruminating and re-reading it gave me no fantastic new insight that made me look better on it. It’s competently done and by-the-numbers, which is, in reality, a heck of a downgrade for how fresh it was before.
3.5 stars - I’m being absolutely generous as all get out here; this probably doesn’t rate more than a 3. However, a few bright spots keep my affection for the series afloat amidst an underwhelming volume.

Up until this point Zen being a gang-leader has been more of a suggestion than a downright fact. He’s always been portrayed as a nice and helpful guy to his friends and the wider community at large (apart from the one time he ordered his friend to go get his textbook back in vol 1). So seeing him finally take the reins and step in to save his friend and girlfriend in such a gang leader way is what tipped this vol into 5 stars for me. And the confrontation that followed after that between the rival gang leader was brilliant. I just hope that it doesn’t get forgotten in between all the lovey dovey interactions between the protagonist and Zen and that we cycle back round to this gang leader stand-off again next vol…

من از مانگاهای شوجو به عنوان تراپی، وقتایی که ناراحتم و دلم میخواد یهچیزی بخونم که کوتاه و ساده و زیبا باشه و نتونم به چیزی فکر کنم استفاده میکنم. خیلی رندوم پیداش کردم و اصلا انتظار نداشتم چیز خاصی باشه. چپترهای اولش هم حقیقتا خیلی معمولی بود. ولی خدای من چقدر ناز و عالی پیش رفت. چقدر شخصیتها دوستداشتنی بودن. مثلا میخواستم بخونم حالم خوب شه، بعد با هر صفحهای که ورق میزدم بخاطر اینکه قرار نیست هرگز در زندگیم یک زِن داشته باشم بیشتر در چاه افسردگی سقوط میکردم :))))
اینکه فقط ۱۶ چپترش اومده هم ناراحتکننده بود. I WANT MORE!!!

Risa acaba yendo a la casa de Zen y conoce a su familia. Eso hará que Risa vuelva a abrirse más a Zen y a contarle cosas de su familia. Por su parte, uno de los amigos de Zen se mete en un lío y arrastra a Risa con él.

Non sarà la storia più originale sulla faccia della Terra, però ogni volume regala una botta di serotonina. Un tripudio di tenerezza 😊
Il rapporto tra Zen e Risa procede, con la ragazza che, per la prima volta, sta iniziando ad aprirsi con un'altra persona, che sta sperimentando un senso di protezione. È stata accolta a braccia aperte dalla famiglia di Zen e dal suo gruppo di amici. L'unico elemento di disturbo è rappresentato da Fumin, capocchia della gang che si oppone al gruppo di Zen e iscritto allo stesso centro studi di Risa...e verso la ragazza sta iniziando a provare dei sentimenti alquanto sospetti 🫣 - sentimenti non ricambiati, visto che Risa non è una che le manda a dire ed è sempre piuttosto onesta nelle sue risposte 😅 Comunque sia, sono sicura che questa situazione è destinata a ritornare anche nei prossimi volumi e a creare un po' di drama.

En este tomo Risa se queda en casa de Zen al perder sus llaves y nos permite tener momentos muy bellos entre este par.
Por otro lado tenemos a Fumiya, rival de Zen y que inesperadamente termina enamorándose de Risa, por alguna razón este personaje me gustó mucho y a pesar de que me encanta Zen, logré empatizar con Fumiya.
Vemos un poco más el desarrollo de la relación entre Zen y Risa y, me gusta que también esta última pudo experimentar a un Zen un tanto más auténtico en su entorno familiar, me pareció muy bonito lo que le dijo sobre que se notaba que había crecido en un entorno rodeado de amor.
Zen una vez más demostró el precioso corazón que tiene al sacrificarse por Risa y su amigo, y me encanta por eso.

A medida que avanzamos, esta historia se va poniendo mejor con cada momento 💖
La lectura es muy fluida, siento como las hojas vuelan entre mis manos mientras que me concentro en cada panel para apreciar la BELLEZA que nos brinda Fujimomo sensei con su arte. Se nota lo muy bien que trabaja ✨️
¡Vemos nuevos personajes! La familia de Zen es encantadora. Me gustó especialmente su hermana En 😍 me tenía enamorado.
Por otro lado, tenemos la evolución de Fumiya 🙈😳 que con cada acercamiento que tiene con nuestra chica se le ablanda más el corazón parece 🤭😂 no sé qué pensar de él, pero lo que ha pasado en este tomo me ha agitado el corazón 💖
Ahora a esperar un tiempo más hasta tener el próximo tomo físico, pero puedo asegurar que no suelto esta historia por nada 💖

Der Band war wieder richtig gut und hat mich direkt eingesogen. Zens Familie ist echt super lieb und sie nehmen Risa ohne zu zögern auf. Sie fühlt sich auch bei ihnen wohl und ist gerührt, dass Zen anders auf ihre Familienumstände reagiert, als sie es gewöhnt ist. Mit Fumiya scheint sie sich auch gut zu verstehen, sieht ihn in gewisser Weise als akademischen Rivalen an, ist aber trotzdem auf Zens Seite. Fumiya scheint aber andere Gefühle zu hegen, ich bin aber froh, dass er nicht total mies handelt, sondern sich zurückhält, weil er weiß, dass sie in einer Beziehung ist. Das Ende war schon recht brutal, auch wenn ich es gut fand, wie Risa Raku helfen wollte. Zen und sie geben echt ein schönes Paar ab und ich bin richtig in ihrer Story drin.

Zen and Risa are the cutest! Risa had to stay at Zen’s house because she lost her keys and made friends with Zen’s sister and his mother, they are all super nice! We know that Fumiya is trying to make Risa notice him more, but she’s oblivious about it. Raku and Risa are in a dangerous situation, but then Zen saves them, letting the other team beat him up. Risa stands up for them and tells Fumiya to let him go, which he does, I’m not sure if it’s because he likes her or because he had hit her accidentally in the nose. I do love Zen and Risa’s relationship and want to see more of them!

Hoy vengo a comentaros mis impresiones tras la lectura del cuarto tomo de la obra manga “𝙈𝙖́𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙖́ 𝙙𝙚𝙡 𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙧”, shojo actualmente en publicación en Japón con un total de 6 tomos de 𝘍𝘶𝘫𝘪𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘰 📚
Pero antes de nada, ¿de qué va este manga? 👉🏻 𝚁𝚒𝚜𝚊 𝙰𝚖𝚊𝚔𝚊𝚠𝚊 es una chica independiente y siempre se las ha apañado para arreglárselas sola. Un día, al salir del instituto, se encuentra tirado bajo la lluvia a un chico con pinta de macarra al que le han propinado una buena paliza. El joven se llama 𝚉𝚎𝚗 𝙾𝚑𝚒𝚛𝚊, un chico con aspecto de delincuente pero que en realidad es una persona dulce y la mar de simpática. A modo de agradecimiento por la ayuda de 𝚁𝚒𝚜𝚊, 𝚉𝚎𝚗 le da un vale que ella puede emplear en cualquier ocasión para que él le eche un cable. Aunque 𝚁𝚒𝚜𝚊 cree que no lo va a necesitar, acaba viéndose envuelta en un inesperado acontecimiento que la obliga a utilizarlo… 😏

📖 Suerte que tengo el siguiente tomo ya en mi estantería, porque estoy deseando leerlo tras la lectura de este cuarto 🤲🏻 (𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘴 𝘦𝘭 𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘰 𝘥𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘰́𝘯 𝘫𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘦́𝘴…)
🏍️ A pesar de lo que puede aparentar, no se trata de la típica historia entre el chico malote y la lista de la clase. Se nos presenta una historia tierna con personajes bien construidos, sin conductas tóxicas y en donde solo se desprende aceptación y dulzura ☺️
📖 Ambos protagonistas son fantásticos. La autora tiene un don para crear escenas deslumbrantes y, a la vez, saber cómo desarrollar el carácter de cada personaje 😻

Hoy vengo a comentaros mis impresiones tras la lectura del cuarto tomo de la obra manga “𝙈𝙖́𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙖́ 𝙙𝙚𝙡 𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙧”, shojo actualmente en publicación en Japón con un total de 6 tomos de 𝘍𝘶𝘫𝘪𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘰 📚
Pero antes de nada, ¿de qué va este manga? 👉🏻 𝚁𝚒𝚜𝚊 𝙰𝚖𝚊𝚔𝚊𝚠𝚊 es una chica independiente y siempre se las ha apañado para arreglárselas sola. Un día, al salir del instituto, se encuentra tirado bajo la lluvia a un chico con pinta de macarra al que le han propinado una buena paliza. El joven se llama 𝚉𝚎𝚗 𝙾𝚑𝚒𝚛𝚊, un chico con aspecto de delincuente pero que en realidad es una persona dulce y la mar de simpática. A modo de agradecimiento por la ayuda de 𝚁𝚒𝚜𝚊, 𝚉𝚎𝚗 le da un vale que ella puede emplear en cualquier ocasión para que él le eche un cable. Aunque 𝚁𝚒𝚜𝚊 cree que no lo va a necesitar, acaba viéndose envuelta en un inesperado acontecimiento que la obliga a utilizarlo… 😏

🏍️ A pesar de lo que puede aparentar, no se trata de la típica historia entre el chico malote y la lista de la clase. Se nos presenta una historia tierna con personajes bien construidos, sin conductas tóxicas y en donde solo se desprende aceptación y dulzura ☺️
📖 Ambos protagonistas son fantásticos. La autora tiene un don para crear escenas deslumbrantes y, a la vez, saber cómo desarrollar el carácter de cada personaje 😻

Cute, and currently wholesome relationship. Risa is slowly making progress in understanding her feelings. She’s met his family - his mom was start,ing,y young looking, and his dad…was not 😂 I expected more there, explaining how his dad was trying hard to be friendly, but nope.
Raku was a scumbag, but the girl was also crappy. She had no shame about admitting she cheated, just because her bf’s face is “mid.” Ugh.

Zeno’s family is so amazing!!! I’m so jealous. I love how welcoming they were towards Risa. So sweet!!!!
And now for Fumiya… I don’t want him to fall for Risa. I actually like him and I don’t want to see his heart get broken!!!!! Zen is definitely the one for Risa. He can’t have her!!! Lol
The whole delinquent/gang thing scares me. Idk if I would be down for that kind of drama in my relationship. I hope that maybe these boys get out of that scene…?

They're so cute together, I love them. I love how they've grow to trust and be vulnerable, in tune, and support each other more especially for Risa. I'm so proud of her, I really love the interaction between her and Zen's family, it's so warm and wholesome. I want to see her interaction with zen's friends more too. Also I have hope for Fumiya to be a better person.

Cute read. Finally got to read the last volume in English. Now I must wait for volume 5 in English...which comes out...I have no idea when...
But this is a cute storyline. There's some subtle plot twists here and there. I'm wondering if there's going to be some purposeful misguidances and the works. I dunno. Cute high school teen drama.

La familia de Zen, amo que tenga una familia tan amorosa, quiero ver más interacciones de ellos y Risa en el futuro.
Como llegan a preocuparse el uno por el otro, como llega Zen a salvarla (y a su amigo tambien) y como llega Risa a ver como esta Zen luego del altercado.
Son muy tiernos.
