It seems quite an undertaking to put together 100 astounding truths from God’s holy Word. The author divided these into four sections: The Character of God, God’s Desire for His People, Curious Parts of the Bible, and God Equips His People. She uses modern examples from culture, movies, and television—some of which I couldn’t relate to but should appeal to younger readers (I’m a senior citizen). The text is presented in a straightforward way, but her opinions are stated as fact in the same way she shares details from God’s Word. I think she should make it clear when it is her thoughts or popular opinion rather than inerrant Scripture. I did appreciate the emphasis on the importance of the Bible and following the Lord. She shares many of her own experiences as examples for these lessons. The book would make a good resource in a church library and the topics covered could be discussed in a class. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

My Thoughts: I have heard so much about this book. I thought it was average, this is a reminder that this book has been written by someone with no theological training. This book is more of a devotional, or it should be read that way. I expected something different when I agreed to review this book. Each “truth” is short, about a page on average, so it would make a good devotional to read along with your Bible. The author does pick out some good truths, but they are very short.
The author has a wonderful way of writing and uses her personal everyday life to illustrate her points. Readers will certainly enjoy her sense of humor.
I would recommend this for a younger generation as the older generations may need to learn who the author is referring to in some of her illustrations.

In the preface of this new book, author Annie Weber confesses that she had never picked up a Bible until she was twenty-eight years old. I don't know her current age, but I do know that her acceptance of Jesus Christ and her continuing walk with Him has enabled her to write a book that promises to be beneficial to many different people, from new believers to seasoned Christians!
Astounding Truths of the Bible has been a special addition to my worship time. Weber shared her thoughts and experiences with humor and discerning insight and I often felt like I was in a personal conversation with her. Each of the 100 astounding truths is two pages long and they all begin with Scripture and end with a prayer. They may be bite-size, as the subtitle says, but these bites are filled with nourishment for our souls! Scripture from both the Old and New Testaments is shared and the devotions are conveniently divided into four sections. Want to know more about The Character of God? Check out Part 1. Longing to know God's Desire for His People? That's covered in Part 2. But don't forget Part 3! Weber labels it as Curious Parts of the Bible and it's filled with astounding truths that are sometimes overlooked. Finally, in Part 4, we're shown how God Equips His People. Twenty-five amazing truths of God's efforts to equip His people with the tools to live a life that honors Him!
If you're looking for a fresh perspective and in need of a new resource to help you in your study of God's Word, grab a copy of this book! Annie Weber may be new to me, but I look forward to reading more of her inspiring work.

Christian Non-Fiction books are always so encouraging to me. I really LOVE books that help guide me in my faith. Astounding Truths of the Bible: A Bite-Sized Approach to Understanding the World's Bestselling Book by Annie Weber is this genre that I have read.
I know so many people and Christians who have trouble understanding the Bible as it is written. Annie Weber has taken 100 Scripture references and explained them in a way that helps it easier to understand the Bible. The book is in a easy to read format and each "Truth" has it owns chapter. Each Chapter begins with a Scripture, a short story that goes with the Scripture and a prayer.
I think my favorite truth was Truth 4: God is Sovereign Over Our Circumstances. I LOVE how she uses the song by Carrie Underwood "Jesus Take the Wheel". I literally had a Jesus "took" the Wheel experience earlier this year. I had a Seizure at the Wheel and the miracle is that were no injuries nor did I hit someone. I truly believe what the author says about God is in control even when we don't know how or why. God has shown me some major changes through this situation and I have been able to trust him throughout. I am unable to drive until further notice, but he has provided help getting me places(husband, son and Church Family). I have had medical tests and answers. God truly is in control and sovereign.
I am so glad that I took the opportunity to read this book. I definetly will be keeping this close by and going over it again and again. It would make a great devotional, a great gift for anyone needing encouragement. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone needing help understanding the Bible in an easier way! GREAT BOOK!

Each chapter is based on people from the Bible, personal stories and scriptures that help readers understand the Bible better. I did like a lot of the chapters and appreciate the authors insight.
It was interesting to see how the author interpreted different scriptures and stories. I never thought of God as being a matchmaker but I see how He could be one. God loves each of us and never plays favorites. “When God is the matchmaker, His perfect plan will be revealed.” In the Bible some suffered loss but He did give joy back to them like Ruth who He gave hope and joy.
The book is filled with many helpful thoughts on different subjects. It is easy to read and helps those who struggle trying to understand certain stories or scriptures. I enjoyed reading through the book and seeing how God is always there with open arms.

This book is such a good read and has such helpful information and things that all Christians should know and understand and apply to themselves. . This is one book that I will be referencing again and again. Some of the subjects in it were interesting, one truth was about bones. This book has 100 truths and talks about Biblical characters that are well known and about some biblical characters that we don't know as well. I really recommend this book for all Christians especially new believers. It's definitely a five star book. It is written in an easy format to follow. Each truths starts with a Bible verse and ends with a prayer and in between she talks about what the Bible verse means, and she even shares some personal things and there is a little humor with it. This book is well worth your time. I received a complementary copy from the author and Ceberate Lit and these opinions are my own.

This is a wonderful collection of insightful devotions on a variety of Scriptures. I like how she starts the devotions with her own experiences, illustrating the truth she then explains. My favorite was her telling of getting a much appreciated Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988 then comparing that to the immeasurable gift of salvation.
Weber's writing is good and she is clever in describing her insights. An example is her devotion on dressing for success, putting on the armor of Ephesians 6. She adds a little humor from time to time too. She includes an appropriate prayer at the end of each devotion.
These devotions are good for new and seasoned Christians alike. I recommend the book.

Astounding Truths of the Bible is written by Annie Weber. This is a great book to read with a small group I loved the blend of personal stories and biblical truth woven all together
We just walked through some hard times. My husband had chest pains when I started to read and review this book. It turns out that he needed open heart surgery. God knew exactly what he was doing when this book was on my list to review. The daily verses were just what I needed to get through that.
The book is well written. This is a great devotional that would be good with a small group. I would definitely read more from this author. Thank you to the author, publisher and Celebrate Lit for allowing me to read a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Loved the authors perspective of breaking The Holy Bible down into bite size pieces ,more so ,with relatable life stories. Everything is there infront of you to help better understand the Holy Bible ,from a true Christian view and truth. Straight out of the "good book". I had so much joy reading Astounding Truths, it's now a pass along book with friends and family, to share the word of God and the stories of Webers life. Realtable experience for all ALL to read and share, also a great gift. Handsdown, 5 stars all day long!

I really like this one. It is broken up into short chapters that are quick and easy to read and could easily be read as a short daily devotional. Each chapter in only a couple of pages long and includes a scripture, a story, and a prayer. The book is filled with wonderful reminders of some of the astounding truths we can find in God's Word. It is written in a way that is easily accessible for early believers and young readers, but also provides great reminders for all Bible lovers and followers of Christ. It would also make a great gift book, or small group discussion book!

She is as much a story teller as she is a student of the Bible, sharing her personal stories with transparency and raw honesty. This book is a great and fun read! Easy daily readings that remind you of God’s word and how God is in every moment of life. Definitely recommend. Your heart will be uplifted and gently convicted.

I found Astounding Truths of the Bible: A Bite-Sized Approach to Understanding the World's Bestselling Book by Annie Weber to be interesting book to read. I like how the author uses personal stories, humor, and knowledge to bring out one hundred truths from the Bible. It includes commentary and scripture all throughout. I found it to be inspiring to read.

I have not quite finished reading this book, but I will say I am really enjoying it. I struggle to enjoy reading, and to understand, deep theological works. Astounding Truths From the Bible does not fall into that category; it is full of short, simple thoughts about God, His character, His desire for His people, and how He equips His people, along with a section of things that are “curious” in the Bible. That includes things like learning from a sandwich, a birth announcement that changed the world, and death by big hair. I am using this book as my morning daily devotional, and enjoying the humorous, fresh perspective this author brings to stories I have known all my life.
