After a dramatic start to Sarah and Nathan’s romance in Ship It , their future together seems bright. But as they each strive for success in the epicenter of tech, Silicon Valley, passions run high and temptations abound.

When Sarah’s new colleague—a man interested in her skills both in and out of the office—offers her an attractive opportunity, her bond with Nathan is tested. Faced with competing offers for her time and attention, she must determine what—and whom—she wants in her life.

Just as Nathan makes a breakthrough with his startup, his idea is stolen by a daunting competitor, making him question not only his professional path, but the people he trusts the most.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this story and thank goodness because I was dying to know what would happen next.

I love the way that this book is laid out, giving us dual perspective but then also an “encrypted” perspective that we aren’t quite sure who it is. This brings so much tension to the story - in the best way! I binged this story in one sitting because I just had to know who that character was!!

If you have read Ship It, I highly recommend this steamy, twisty, and highly enjoyable sequel.

* I received an ARC e-copy in return of an honest review *

I enjoyed this book more than Evie’s first book “ship it”, however it is worth mentioning that “pitch it” is a sequel book so it is needed to read the first book before you start “pitch it”.

I loved this plot and how everything came together, I really enjoyed watching Nathan and Sarah’s relationship unfold. It was a very relatable story which interested me more than the “picture perfect” love stories, and there were spicy scenes too which of course I love.

Thank you Evie for trusting me with your new book ❤️

I received a free eARC of this book, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

In Pitch It, book 2 of the Startup Love series, we continue the journey of Sarah and Nathan, a young couple navigating the professional world and their relationship. After Nathan leaves Instinqt to pursue his dreams of a start-up, Sarah must learn to navigate work at LightVerse without Nathan present. As she falls onto the radar of several important figures at the company, unwanted attention is cast her way and threatens her relationship with Nathan. Will they come out on top or will their careers be the end of them?

As the sequel to Ship It, this may contain spoilers to book one.

I really enjoyed this! Nathan and Sarah’s relationship continues to develop, and though it may seem like absolute bliss at first, they quickly move out of the honeymoon phase. Not only do we get to see a completely new side to both Nathan and Sarah, but we see a MUCH more realistic relationship between them - not everything consists of sunshine, daisies and several NSFW scenes a day. I really enjoyed seeing their character arcs, as whilst they both face awful situations, they both mature and grow as individuals - which I personally think was quite needed for Sarah, who was INCREDIBLY naive at certain points, and honestly? I found myself getting insanely frustrated with some of the situations she didn’t put an end to. I loved that there were more side characters included in this book, and we got to develop relationships with all of those involved rather than just Nathan and Sarah. I absolutely DETESTED Carter, and honestly thought that someone needed to teach him how to keep his hands to himself. We also began to see a different side to Kevin which I adored, and he added a new depth to the plot. However, with all this being said, there were several points in the book where I was just so confused?! A few things were cleared up towards the end - but I still only have theories about a few parts and I’m not sure if these are correct or not, but I was hooked and read the whole book in 1 sitting to find out the answers! I do feel like certain points - such as the ‘Encrypted’ chapters could have been expanded on towards the end. One other small thing that I didn’t enjoy, is that the book was written with Sarah and Nathan’s POV, although Sarah had her chapters in 1st person and Nathan’s chapters were in 3rd, which just really wasn’t my favourite thing.

At 425 pages long, this took me just over 3 hours to read. I recommend this to any romance lover, although this book does include a LOT of sexual scenes intended for a mature audience. I highly recommend reading Ship It before this - though I could see how Pitch It could be read as a stand-alone.

This is my arc review of Pitch It by Evie Blum. Disclaimer – I was gifted this book as an ARC for an honest review. Everything I am saying is my own opinion.
The book is about Nathan and Sarah’s rocky relationship, and it follows them through the changes in their jobs. In this book, we gain an understanding of Nathan’s outlook on his project, and we see Sarah’s career progress as she is given more opportunities.
After reading the first book “Ship it” – I couldn’t wait to jump into book two. I was very enthusiastic to know what happened following the cliffhanger, and I was not disappointed. I found myself hooked onto the story and couldn’t put the book away. I loved how the chapters are written in two different ways and that the story “encrypted” as we don’t fully know who we are reading about, and it just adds suspense to the plot. In my opinion, the character development in this book is amazingly portrayed. Nathan was, by far, my favourite character, and you really get to see him grow as a person. His relationship with Sarah is very realistic, and you can’t help but love the chemistry between them.
Overall, if you enjoy a good romance book, I would highly recommend both “Ship It” and “Pitch It”.

Oh man, quite the follow up to Ship It, Evie!
This was the most frustrating book I've read in a while, but I couldn't put it down. I wanted to knock some sense into nearly every single character the entire book 😅
That first chapter? Threw me off something fierce! 🤯 It aaallmost ruined the book for me, it did ruin the first half almost lol, but once I started to catch on to something fishy (like the "encrypted" pov??) I got really into it and needed to know how it actually ended as opposed to my assumptions.
I couldn't have been happier with the ending. The drama was so life like, and the characters really came into their own in this one. Reading my review for Ship It vs Pitch It I'm sure will be hilariously opposing lol but all my complaints were resolved!
I was not happy reading this book overall because the characters really know how to push my buttons apparently, but in the end it was definitely worth the read. Thanks book club and Evie for this Rollercoaster of emotions lol.

the rollercoaster of emotions

I LOVED THIS!!!!! Book 2 is definitely taking rank over book 1. Evie did an amazing job retelling book 1, so if you didn’t read Ship It she summarizes it perfectly. Now to the real reason you’re here: when I tell you I almost chucked my phone multiple times. I have never had a book make me so emotional. I wanted to punch Sarah in the face multiple times for her stupid blindness. I almost cried multiple times. Like a legit rollercoaster, mouth agape, fists clenched. I wanted to fight this book in the best ways. I love these characters so much and I am so glad there was a happy ending because I might have cried if the ending was any different. This was a beautiful (anger-inducing) book that I will recommend to anyone who needs a cute romance with a little twist. Hats off to you Evie, I loved this!

Sarah and Nathan’s new relationship is being tested. Sarah’s new colleague is opening her up to new work opportunities, but does he want something more? Nathan is working by himself to get his startup idea up and running. Kevin shows him an article about a company with the same idea as his startup. The pressure is on to get the startup launched, but what will that pressure do to their new relationship?

✨Review ✨

Note: This is a sequel, so I highly suggest to read the first book (Ship It!) first.

The book is told by Sarah and Nathan’s POV along with an encrypted (hidden) POV to add to the storyline. My heart was on a roller coaster ride the entire book. One minute I was happy, then sad, then happy again. This was a true life romance novel dealing with the struggles of friendships, a pandemic, work/life balance, stress, etc. I highly recommend!

Nathan and Sarah

I have to admit that after reading the opening chapter, I HAD to flip to the last chapter to see if Nathan and Sarah get their HEA. Eve Blum, that was C.R.U.E.L., but Genius. Props to you, my new author friend. Boy howdy, did I cry through three-fourths of Pitch It!! I knew I could breathe safely again when I read the following: "“You’re the glue that held me together when I needed it, and I’m here for you, too. Sarah, neither of us is perfect, completely whole. We’re just . . . real. You and me, our connection, our story—it’s not perfect, but it’s real.”" No couple is ever perfect. Real, broken, bruised, damaged, loss, joy, togetherness, kisses - that's perfect.

Pitch It

This book was an enjoyable romantic read about second-chances, but I personally found that it dragged on too long for me to remain attached to the characters. Set in a business world in Silicon Valley, this book is for those that want a glimpse into the romantic side of business with an up and coming business strategist and a product developer looking to make it big with a new start-up business idea. My health-care brain found it a bit difficult to keep up with the different business lingo and acronyms that I’m not used to seeing on a day-to-day basis. If you work in the business world, this may just be the book for you!

This is a sequel to ship it. If you haven’t read it, stop and start there before starting this book. The book follows Nathan’s and Sarah’s relationship. The book starts with a moment in the future, then goes back to the same mot in time where the first book ends. I was hooked and couldn’t put it down to figure out what happened and how it was going to come full circle. Their relationship is relatable and shows real relationship struggles. It also have plenty of hot and steamy scenes and of course romance. I really liked the book and recommend.

Hold up!! I went into this book thinking I’m gunna get more Nathan and Sarah to have the first chapter shatter my heart as Sarah’s marrying another man! Girl what?!

The author does really good at giving a recap so that you don’t have to read the first book in order to understand and follow book two.

Okay this book frustrated me until about 90% ish because I was like if she ends up with Carter I’m throwing this kindle! Luckily it has a happy ending and I feel like I loved this book way more than book 1!

This book is even better than the first! I started off absolutely confused about what was happening and stayed that way until the end. Sarah and Nathan’s story takes several twists and turns throughout this book. With each one, your heart is wondering how it’s going to handle it all! I stayed up late and woke up early to spend a bit more time with each of the characters. While Pitch It could be read as a stand alone, I would not recommend it. Start off with Ship It and get to know the back story. There is spice, love, heartache, and joy. This book has it all - can you please write more?!

I absolutely LOVED this book! Although it is listed as a stand alone, I would highly recommend beginning with the authors first novel, Ship It, to get the full emotional connection to the characters. I read this book in less than 24 hours because I could not wait to see which path Sarah chose!

There are a few parts of the book that swap back and forth from first to third person that makes things a little confusing. Personally, I also feel like the spice could be a little more developed. Otherwise, the story was absolutely captivating

I really enjoyed how this love story was relatable. Sarah and Nathan are a perfect example of life happening and everyday work stressors and how outside parties can play a factor on relationships. The Author did a great job with doing both POV of the characters. The story had love, friendship, betrayals, grief. It was a real roller coaster and I couldn’t put it down. All the characters in the book were so great! I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to read a love story with real life struggles and how working hard and not giving up can be beneficial in relationships.

The love story between Sarah and Nathan continues in this follow-up to Ship It. We also meet a new character named Carter who definitely poses as a massive hurdle in their love story, but without giving away all the juicy details, he is not a terrible person. Honestly I hope one day Evie writes a book just about his love life. He means well, but it definitely gets misguided. We also see love bloom between Kevin and Cam, which I so want more of! Anyway, there are a lot of ups and downs in this sequel, but Sarah and Nathan are worth the journey. Their love endures.

If you haven't read Ship it, I would definitely recommend reading that one first as this is a continuation of Sarah and Nathan's story.
I absolutely loved this book. The writing was very engaging and kept me interested in what was going to happen next. Evie kept me on my toes, waiting to see how everything was going to come together. I loved the encrypted chapters, they definitely threw me off. Be ready to get mad and then happy for our favorite couple!

In this book, the plot thickens and the love that sparked between Sarah and Nathan is tested when the pressures of work, life and new temptations get in the way. I hated everyone, at some point, with a passion, which - to me - is a sign of wonderfully written and well developed characters that are multi dimensional and real. Characters I can have expectations from and be upset when they are not met. Who would be Sarah's groom???

This is an excellent book! Sarah and Nathan have a complicated story that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. This book is full of drama, spice, ex’s and has a HEA. Pitch It is told through Nathan and Sarah’s eyes. It starts in the present day, then jumps back in time. The very beginning threw me for a loop. I was engaged from page 1 and the book kept my attention to the very end. This is a great book and I highly recommend it!

What a sequel! The love story of Sarah and Nathan continues. The stakes are higher, the romance is hotter, and I needed to know what came next with each chapter. Evie has definitely improved from Ship It, and that was already a 5-star read for me. I wish I could give this 6-stars just for that.

Great storyline.

When I started this book, I was so worried that my favorite characters didn’t end up together. The book kept you guessing until the end. The love story is so sweet. So proud of the author/friend. Can’t wait for the next book!

Could not enjoy this book. After the opening I was anxious about the characters for the entirety of their story and then it dragged too long for them to redeem themselves. Had to finish it just to understand.

WOW. What a rollercoaster!! But the kind of rollercoaster that you get sad when it’s over and you get back in line to ride again. I want to do this without any spoilers, let’s see if I can do it. This was emotional, nail biting, spicy, juicy (no pun intended 😉) and absolutely beautiful. I loved Ship It but Pitch It takes the cake. Great read!
