The After #3

After Tomorrow

Rate this book
If you like the action of The Walking Dead, the friendship of Stand By Me, and the sizzle of Fifty Shades of Grey, you’re going to love the post-apocalyptic After series!

The world is still ending, but now winter is closing in and it’s deadlier than ever.

Sandford’s party girl, Kat Tenor, isn’t about to let something like the apocalypse ruin her fun. The Sy-V virus may have decimated the world around her, but it hasn’t dimmed her charisma. If anything, she’s even more determined to see the best in a critical situation.

But when old secrets and new enemies challenge her at every turn and an impulsive act leads to devastating consequences, everything she’s fought to hold together begins to unravel.

Quinn Brent, guard for the new Sanford, has admired Kat’s tenacity from afar for too long. He knows that beneath her bubbly, messy exterior lies someone who’s fiercely loyal and kind. So when the unthinkable happens, and Kat’s light dims too much for him to handle, Quinn has no choice but to step out of the shadows and take on a rescue mission of his own. To find the girl he loves and save her from herself.

With brutally cold weather and their enemies closing in, the stakes are higher than ever… Can love survive the end of the world?

Author’s After Tomorrow is the third book in the After series of interconnected standalone post-apocalyptic romance novels, for fans of Kate L. Mary, Kate Morris, T.L. Payne, Stella Craig and Kyla Stone.

After Tomorrow is a standalone story with no cliffhangers and a HEA, however will be enjoyed further by reading the other books in the series. This is mature content written for 18+ readers - there is unsavory language and gratuitous sex. Lots of it. ♡

Jacqueline picked up her first Mills & Boon novel when she was 14, and fell head over heels in love with the romance of a happily-ever-after.

Sweet Valley High just couldn’t compete after she got hooked on plucky heroines and dashing heroes.

She has a Bachelor Degree in Print Journalism but, having always been tempted to embellish the facts of a story, decided she was more suited to writing works of fiction.

She writes in between wrangling two daughters and her very own tall, handsome husband. *wink wink*

I really enjoyed Kat and Quinns story, the book picks up about 3 months after the outbreak and things are looking grim with it being the middle of winter. This book is action packed and fast paced which I loved.

Quinn is my favourite of the three MMCs in this series he's such a sweet teddy bear. Kat is more chaos in human form but I was expecting this based on what she did in the first two books. I love this world that Jacqueline is building and I had alot of emotions reading this book. There were some scenes that shocked me, in a good way for the most part and I don't want to say much more about them cause I think they will be fun (?!) for you to read yourself.

The spice was perfect, not too much but not so little it leaves you wanting more. Not quite a slow burn but the spice doesn't happen till midway.

Includes
Found family
Friends to lovers
MMC has been in love with the FMC for years
Minimal angst
Alcoholism (not talked about in depth but it's there)
Post apocalypse (without the zombies)
Spice 🌶🌶/5

I think you could read this as a standalone but I think it's more beneficial to read from the start.

I recieved an ARC but this is my honest opinion and thoughts on this book.

After Tomorrow (The After Series Book 3)

Kat and Quinn are my favorite couple so far. I love the messed up, full hearted and slightly broken Kat and have truly enjoyed watching her journey!

Heat level: 3.5 / 5 peppers (this is subjective, we will just say it is descriptive in the spicy scenes)
HFN/HEA/OTHER: HEA

Jacqueline Hayley, you've done it again. I almost feel like you read my mind and know that I need more apocalyptic romance in my life. So, trust me when I say I will read and buy them all.

I love Quinn. I adored that he never gave up on Kat and that he had her back in every situation. He was just the right kind of contrast to her personality in the best ways. I think I'm just ecstatic to see Quinn finally end up with Kat.

Kat- I spent a good portion of the book comparing her to a tornado with good intentions which was funny because the comparison made by Quinn about her was that she was a hurricane.
Yes, Kat was a walking hurricane- she was terrified of standing still, of being boring. She was flawed, but weren't they all? She was charming and spirited and loyal, with an enormous heart and endless capacity for compassion. She was Kate. And he would tear this town apart to find her.

Kat is probably my favorite of our main group of girls (with Mackenzie being a very close second). She has been an interesting collection of good intentions with terrible luck. The fallout of many of the situations like the encounter with the Panther's was heartbreaking. I loved watching her make the decision to do better and change.

The spice was top tier *chef's kiss*

The Panthers, Mallrats, and this mysterious army are only just beginning to show themselves to our main group of characters from Sanford. I can see a lot of potential for conflicts between groups in the books to come, not going to lie I might be a bit excited to see where this goes.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I cannot wait for the next book in The After series! If you're a fan of apocalyptic romance, I definitely recommend giving this series a read.

A quote I liked from the book:
And honestly, if cauliflower could somehow become pizza, then Kat could do anything. She could change. She just had to get out of this pickup.

Hold on to your pages—the After Series is back with another absolute page turner of a post apoc romance!

I LOVED returning to Sanford and four friends battling what remains of society, the brutal winter elements, and their internal demons in their struggle to live—and love—in the aftermath of Sy-V.

Jacqueline Hayley has done it again – another action-packed, thrilling, heartfelt, brutal, beautiful thrill of a read. The next instalment in the After Series had me turning the pages to the end, my heart in my mouth with every new twist and turn, and those HOT HOT HOT spicy times.

P.s. If I have to be in an apocalypse, please let it be with this crew!

This series just keeps getting better! Outspoken Kat has secrets that have come back to haunt her. Thank goodness for Quinn who might just save her from herself. This book has everything and I could not put it down. So much happens, so much is revealed and oh my god, when is Book 4 coming out?? Jacqueline Hayley is the master of intrigue and life or death suspense, not to mention the hottest apocalyptic sex I've ever read.

After Yesterday de Jacqueline Hayley Serie The After libro 3

Argumento:

Wowzer! Here we are in another installment of the After series and Jaqueline Haley has done it again. I am so in love with the characters Quinn and Kat, even though Kat is somewhat flawed it still brings the story to a perfect place. Sanford, post apocalypse, and here we are Trying to maintain some sense of normalcy. The intimate and romantic scenes will send chills down your spine. Hayley has a way of pulling you in at just the right time and then when the explosion hits you barely see it coming. I have read the others in this series and feel that it could be read as a stand alone but you are more aware of the characters past if you read all of them in order.

5 out of 5 stars

Thank you to Goodreads as well as the author/publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.

just as good

I didn’t think I would like Kat’s story but it was good, we learned why she has an alcohol problem and trauma of her youth. There are few sad moments in this story. Over all a very good book.

I liked Kat and Quinn
But I didn't love Rachel and how she was with Kat.
I can't imagine how those 2 maintained such a close friendship without killing each other over the years.
