Andrew Schlakier’s next assignment takes him to the wilds of Far North Queensland during one of the worst La Ninas in decades. But cyclones, crocodiles and taipans are the least of his worries as he encounters a murder scene involving human remains in a bathtub at a remote shack so grisly it makes him wonder who could have perpetrated such an act.
As he navigates the length of the state in search of the suspect, each new revelation peels back layers of a deeply disturbed personality and a litany of crimes. It culminates in a shocking discovery that’s almost too gruesome for the private investigator to comprehend. The motives for the suspect’s acts are murky but one thing is crystal clear – no one is safe until this person is tracked down and stopped.

Starting another search with the new name the man was now going by.
Short hard-core detective tale concerning a serial killer. Chilling alternate chapters sharing the point of view of the killer. I stumbled on some of the Aussie slang but figured it out. I will read more of this series.
A very tantalising and exciting detective. Well written except for the totally unnecessary and distracting use of swear words. Using God's name in vain is worse. Just tell the story in the exciting way you do.
