For once, Sloane Tarnish is actually winning . The resistance movement against the Cosmic Trade Federation? Winning. The plan to keep her badly behaving uncle restrained and out of the way? Also winning. Her love life? Totally winning, thank you very much. But nothing ever stays simple for long. When Sloane and her crew interrupt the CTF's plans to mess with the Currents that make fast travel possible throughout the galaxy, they inadvertently damage the technology. The alien technology, which they know precious little about. Sloane doesn't relish the idea of getting trapped in a galaxy without Current-quick travel. Worse, though, is the devastating effect the Current seems to be having on Gareth Fortune–whose psychic connection with the tech is putting him in danger. When disaster strikes within the Current, though, they face a devastating new fix the technology to save the galaxy–or strengthen Gareth's psychic connection, risking his life in the process. Forget winning; at this point, Sloane will settle for survival.

This is easily one of my favorite sci-fi series. I know I'm always in for a good bit of action, some memorable character moments, and a lot of laughs. I loved getting a closer look at the Current, an alien technology unlike anything I've read elsewhere. Now at book seven, the characters feel like old friends, and their relationship dynamics hit in a way they didn't in the earlier books. They've been through things. WE'VE been through things. It's been a JOURNEY-one I'm very excited to be a part of. 5 stars!
I'm not sure how Swed keeps making these books even better, but she's done it again. Tons of action running toward the final book of the series, plus a jumping off point for Damian's series. And tons of questions about my favorite spaceship AI and his newfound family. I always forget how much I love space opera until I open one of these books.
Sloane and Gareth are just trying to save the universe – but it seems even the underpinnings of space and time aren’t cooperating. Great action, a few interesting surprises (and at least one very big surprise) plague them as they work to free planets, deal with the enemy, and prevent the fabric of their lives from unraveling.
Absolutely in love with the Parse Galaxy series! This is book 7. It has plenty of action, a variety of different characters, and is fast paced. Once I start reading, I just don’t want to stop, which to me, is a sign of good writing. Can’t wait to read the final installment.
