Penelope Kendall is no stranger to hardship. And if traveling through the hostile wilderness with Abel taught her anything, it’s that she’s more capable than she thought. Even so, successfully infiltrating Terrah without attracting Executor attention proves to be an impossible task.
Faced with a choice between imprisonment and death, she must decide if she can submit to living inside someone else’s cage…unless she has what it takes to carve her own path to the life she dreams of.
There’s just one Terrah is a fortress. And once you get in, there is no getting out.

The next installment of this series absolutely didn’t disappoint! The introduction of the new characters Pen meets on this part of her journey are an array of broken, yet strong people that leave you seeing the complexities that one’s decisions are. Nothing is black and white, it’s deeper than “right vs wrong”. In the game of survival, rules bend.
In Untouchable, the theme of “Fight to be free!” is felt throughout as Pen continues her journey.
I need book 3 ASAP!!! So many questions I want answers to! Do the new side characters get stories, bc I need more of Bishop’s story!!
While the author's writing is most definitely something to be jealous of, I wasn't actually sure how I would enjoy book 2 knowing that it would Pen infiltrating the city with OUT Abel.
Silly me!!! DuVal knows how to tell a story; she keeps you hooked through the intricate storyline, the neverending depth of every single char after introduced, and the growth shown through Pen's eyes.
And again, idk how I'm going to wait for book 3!!!!
Untouchable is a masterful follow-up that dives deeper into the gripping world introduced in Unnatural. I was pulled back into Pen and Abel’s journey, rooting for their evolving bond despite the odds stacked against them. DuVal’s knack for weaving a vivid, immersive world kept me turning pages.
The plot twists are perfectly paced, with secondary characters adding layers of intrigue that make every chapter pop. DuVal’s prose balances action, emotion, and world-building effortlessly.
I’m already counting down to the next installment. If you haven’t started this series, grab Unnatural first, then dive into Untouchable—you won’t be disappointed.
When I closed Unnatural (book 1), I was left to simmer in all Penelope had been introduced to-survival in the wild after an overprotected and confined life. She went from controlled to liberated and very much at risk until she met Abel who did not control her but eventually empowered her and taught her how to continue on.
In Untouchable, we find Penelope alone but with purpose as she finds a way to help her friend. She’s entered another society and is once again at high risk of being caught and turned in, in a controlled environment where she is completely void of friends and hardly supplies to care for herself.
This series shows the power of a slow burn. Never had an author drawn out several days into such incredible imagery, emotion, passionately and so successfully. It’s like a lure as you weave through Duval’s words. She holds you with each word and you’re pining for the next. With the first book feeling more organic and natural in setting, Untouchable feels industrial and geometric - contrasting greatly in environment.
Penelope had me on edge throughout this novel as she met difficulties at every bend. I was constantly in awe of her persistence, strength and confidence maybe not always in herself but of what she had to do to achieve what she needed to.
Duval doesn’t let us rest with her novels. She somehow creates a soothing read with how she structures her words, so lovingly laced in the most captivating descriptions but not without providing circumstances that take your breath away in surprise.
And she does not leave us disappointed with the emotional ties strengthening between Pen and Abel.
Once again, the only disappointment is waiting for the next installment!
What a ride! HM Duval did NOT disappoint once again!! Untouchable kept my pages turning from start to finish. She continues to masterly weave a new world and characters that you can’t wait to see how they evolve and the story unfolds.
I love the main characters Pen and Abel! HM DuVal is magician with words and worlds! She expertly develops characters and interrelationships that keeps you invested and constantly wanting more. I enjoyed following along as the two main characters Pen and Abel’s love and friendship grows even while they are separated physically they find a way connect in a fan yourself way dreamscape. The plot twists and secondary characters that develop along the way are just as intriguing as the main characters and add so much depth to the storyline.. I can’t wait to get more of their back story! I am ready NOW for the next installment can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Keep them coming!!!!
AMAZING!! I have no words for this book! It left me on the edge of my seat the whole way through, cheering Pen on every step of the way! It picks up right where Unnatural left off. Pen is on her own and she's determined to help Abel get a message no matter what it takes to do it. She ends up being captured and has to figure out a way to get Abel's message to the recipient all while finding her way back to Abel.
The story building and the character relationships in this book are so good. The dreams that Pen has are so vivid and so incredible that it really sucks you in. The love that develops between the two is so sweet and seeing them fight for their love is what makes it even better. I loved this story, and I can't wait to read the 3rd book. I want it and need it now! I definitely recommend this book to anyone!
Pen has made her way out of Terrah and she has found Abel, but clearly there is more excitement to come. She know has 3 more people on their journey. I am excited to see what is next, the author left us on a cliffhanger again!
This book, like the first is very well written. Duval knows how to pull you into the world and let you see everything through Pen's eyes. I love how Pen is slowly embracing her powers and becoming stronger and stronger each day. She keeps finding herself in hard situations and hurt, but she is pulling through them more quickly, and no longer letting anyone keep her down. Her strength to get the message to Abel and be united again is strong and has you hoping for happy endings for the two.
Dive into this story if you have read book one, and look forward to book three to find out what is next!
This is book 2 in the Dream Walker series. Untouchable picks up where Unnatural left off. It's beautifully written. It doesn't shy away from sadness, or tough challenges. There so much to this story. Perserverance, compassion, finding your inner strength, supporting and loving others.
This is a beautifully written story with a strong female heroine. I’m loving this adventure these first 2 books have taken me on and can’t wait to see what takes place in book 3!
DuVal’s writing is just as captivating in this sequel. I did not want to put it down at all! This installment picks up right where the last one left off with Pen having to infiltrate Terrah. Though her journey is anything but smooth, we get introduced to several new interesting characters. DuVal does a great job adding depth to the characters which makes it difficult to determine who’s a potential ally and who is only going to create more obstacles. I loved the way the book ended and cannot wait for the next book in the series!
