It’s been four years since Sam Daniels set off for her first semester of college. But now, newly graduated and facing the prospect of returning to Carroll Plantation, Maine, she’s scrambling to find an excuse to avoid her hometown.

She’s spent months struggling to make peace with her painful past, and going home will reopen old wounds. So, she decides to pack up her few possessions and head south for the summer.

Sam’s best friend, Louisa, has assured her that there’s something magic in the air of coastal North Carolina, something just as healing as the salt water on its shores. But upon her arrival, Sam is plunged into a summer she never expected, a summer that forces her to confront, once and for all, the fear and the hope vying for her heart.

Will she finally outrun the pain that has haunted her for so long?

Or will she find that even in North Carolina, love is still calling her home?

An absolute stunning way to capture the tension grief has on a family, but how His love conquers all. Words don’t adequately express how much I loved spending time with the Daniels family.

High Tide was excellent! I never would have guessed that this was only the author’s second published book! I was immediately caught up in the story and characters and had trouble putting it down! Not only was the story captivating, but the author included many meaningful connections to the gospel and the hope of Christ!

Watching the Daniels kids grow up was so sweet. Such a beautiful story. So much love, healing, and growth. A feel good read for sure. Highly recommend this and its predecessor, Sea Glass.
