Part of the Mindful Tots series intended to foster empathy through the practice of mindfulness, this board book helps youngsters slow down and think. By considering the questions posed such as who is your friend? and what does it mean to be a friend? as well as encouraging youngsters to think about ways they can be at peace and loving, the book provides a mantra for well being. For youngsters who would like to reach out to others, this book helps them find some ways to do so. And if they aren't able to come up with possible actions, conversations with adults or older friends or siblings might help them do just that. The brightly-colored illustrations and simple lines prompt a sense of peacefulness and contentment. As many of us have come to realize, sometimes happiness comes from the simplest of things and often from time spent with others.
Cute book for toddlers and even preschoolers (because why not) about being calm, loved, and showing kindness. The illustrations are colorful and the book doesn't have THAT much text in it, but more than I'm used to seeing in board books. The pages have more than a sentence on them. I like how it asks a question and then answers it. You can pause while reading this book to ask your child the question and then read what the book says.
