I couldn't put this book down - I read it as fast as I could, keeping in mind that I needed rest, to eat, and work. That said, this is a difficult book. From a non-Mormon perspective, I am sure it is pretty tame. From a Mormon perspective, it is pretty racy - it is interesting and has been commented on many times (I am surely far from the first), that Mormons hold their own to a much higher standard. That said, a good story should be told, and I believe that this is a good story.

At its root, it is a cautionary tale. I talked with my wife about it last night, and the Devil does not pull any punches. He is in this game for keeps, and he is real. This book illustrates the reality of the Devil and what he and his minions can and will do to destroy mankind. The story is supernatural, but no more supernatural then the scriptures. Sometimes I think that we deny that what happened in the scriptures can happen today. I think that is a mistake.

This book has strengthened my conviction to be more vigilant in my own life. What I have been given is precious, and precious things are always a target. The most precious though cannot be stolen, only given away.
