I selfishly enjoyed this because its main focus was on my particular sun(and rising) sign. Usually books like these talk in generalities but this one zooms in on personality traits and how to combat certain negative traits that can overwhelm one prone to them. There’s a purifying room spray recipe that I need to make asap and there’s also a lasagna recipe - wasn’t expecting that! - that sounds amazing, several protective measures and an in-depth look at how your sun, moon and rising signs all work together. You’ll need your birth chart done in order to get the most use out of this book. There’s lots more too. I don’t keep many books hanging around but I’m going to hang onto this one for future reference. If you’re not a Pisces witch, no worries, there’s a book for every sign in this series.

As far as a beginners guide, this book did a lot of things right. It starts of reinforcing the fact that you are NOT just your sun sign, you are a culmination of your entire chart and just because you are one sign IT IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR BAD BEHAVIOR!

The correspondences were thoughtful, great analogies were made to help better understand personality aspects. I really enjoyed the balance of “yes while you may be good at X, that means you must be cautious of Y”. Surely a reader can just ignore the negative aspects, but they’re listed there so those who are more open to the fact that no one shits butterflies can take those warnings in stride.

- nice & light easy to hold text is ok to read harder to read the white against the darker colour for me

- love the colours and styling of the pages it's so pretty

- facts and information are easy to understand though i did need to read up on some things as I'm new to astrology

-love the spells and activities included i look forward to trying them in my own time and will vlog me doing that

-so funny to read pisces are good at the things I'm naturally drawn to. Glamour manifestation dreamwork intuition and energy magick

- cannot believe a lot of crystals i love like carnelian and moss agate are for opposite signs and are good for balancing and grounding us flighty and dreamy pisces

- loved how each part gave you versions of basic witchcraft as a pisces. For example waterfall cleansing from protective white light which I've done for years in the shower

Good introductory book that has a formulaic chapter structure with obvious copy and pasted text for repeat prompt sections, such as the chapter titled "The Sway of Your Moon Sign," which has the typo on page 98 of "Virgo Sun." Thankfully the text beyond that point is individualized for the sun sign, at least for that chapter and the one on rising sign. ...Okay, upon further examination of also the Scorpio and Cancer books, they have nearly the exact same text for all the chapters written by Ivo Dominguez, Jr, which are the same chapters that appear throughout the series, just changing the sign and relevant corresponding info, such as dates, solar objects, herbs, etc. (And not sure why the Cancer Appendix would list Pluto and the Sun as planetary correspondences...)

The good: the other chapters are written by corresponding sun sign authors which does individualize each of the books, which I like better than the Elements of Witchcraft series. And I do like the intro noting that you don't have to agree with any or all of way the craft for that sign is presented in the book but maybe you can learn a bit about yourself and new approaches that can enhance one's practices.

Coming from an astrology to craft perspective, it's a good starter, quick read and nice exposure to other authors/rabbit holes to explore. Just not sure I'll read beyond my major three of this series, given the large TBR stacks lying everywhere.

This was okay. It felt very much like a witchcraft 101 book (and, I suppose, it sort of is?).

I found myself wanting more and wanting the author and contributors to go deeper than they did. We skimmed the surface here and gave a very simple introduction to Piscean witchery.

This was a solid start!

Read this cover to cover (vs working through it since I got it from the library). It was an enjoyable read, my favourite take away were all of the correspondences with my Sun Sign.

At this time, only one ritual called to me. I wouldn't mind having this book on my shelf though and seeing if any of the other rituals appealed to me at a different time.

There was one major typo where they said "Virgo Sun Sign" when they clearly meant Pisces - whoops.

this is a quick little read. the most useful parts for me were the combination of sun and moon signs and of sun and rising signs as they relate to witchcraft, and the concept of the spirit of your sun sign.

I don't know that I identified with all of it, but it definitely provided some food for thought as far as associating my sign more with my practice.
