Honorable Husband Series. Even independent women can need a helping hand now and then. More than muscles and rugged good looks, this bride needs a Carpenter and only the honorable need apply...but is that what she'll get?A Mail-Order Carpenter
Juliette Allard, an adult orphan, needs a husband to help with her house and growing wishes for an alpaca herd. Roman Kirkpatrick needs a wife so he doesn’t lose the family business and land to his younger brother. Roman decides that a marriage of convenience is necessary. Juliette discovers that her house and land were never hers, as her father sold it to the Kirkpatrick’s many years prior. In order to keep her house, she agrees to the marriage. Juliette and Roman work together to learn about alpacas and to grow the carpentry business that he inherited. A marriage of convenience turns into a marriage of love.
Romeo and Juliette have nothing on Roman and Juliette. About to become homeless, and he is about to be written out of his father's will, Fate brings the two together as each wishes to post seeking for a spouse. Juliette is more of a modern type of woman, someone who wants to sustain herself. Roman is more open minded than most men of this time. Ms. LeBlank tossed in a wonderful twist! Was it fate, or was it prearranged between their fathers? I truly enjoyed this book, and, ladies, so did my hubby!
Alpacas! The last animal I would have expected in cattle country. The author gives us a marriage made of necessity and yet, perhaps, a little foresight. Juliette needs financial support and Roman needs to break away from daddy’s control. We get romance, humor and a few surprise twists.
I couldn't put this down! I read it all in one sitting, late into the night because it was SO good! The characters captured my attention from the very first page. I so enjoyed reading how each of them slowly changed and grew throughout the book; Juliette's growing confidence and Roman's softening overconfidence. What started as a marriage of desperation for both Juliette and Roman to keep their very different dreams alive, turned into something so much more. The most unlikely couple, each choosing to step into a marriage for convenience instead of love, turned into something so beautiful. This is a wonderful, clean romance. I highly recommend it!!
This book is part of a collection of books Honorable JulietteHusbands by 17 authors.
Juliette went to post an ad for a mail order husband as Roman was also headed to post an ad for a mail order bride. Both having different reasons for placing the ad. But Romans father had another ideas of the perfect wife for him.
A marriage of convenience turns into a beautiful love story not just between Juliette and Roman but George and Dumas as well.

The story is part of the Honorable Husbands series by various authors and each story will read as a stand-alone and can be read in any order. These are clean, Western historical tales that mitigating circumstances will result in couples seeking a mail-order spouse.
The story will take place in Miles City, Montana where fate will bring two people together by happenstance. Juliette Auclair has been orphaned after the death of her parents and has struggled to survive, having to sell off cattle, and even land. She can’t take care of the upkeep of the house. Her only recourse is to advertise for a husband.
“Miles City, MT: Seeking Husband: Young. Kind. Practical”
Roman Kirkpatrick stays busy running the family business where they craft well-made furniture and custom-request items. Sadly, he isn’t making the furniture as he would rather do, instead, running the business behind a desk. His father is threatening him about marriage and trying to match him up with society girls he wants nothing to do with. He decides to write his own advertisement.
“Single Gentleman, 25, with his own business and high standing in Miles City, MT, seeks an unwed young lady for marriage. Must be of lively mind, a good conversationalist, and supportive of a man heading for greatness. Only applicants of serious disposition need apply.”
The story’s plot will have Juliette and Roman both making it to the post office minutes before the five o’clock closing. The postmistress doesn’t care about privacy, and reading the two papers of advertisement, both seeking a spouse, she comments.
“You’re here for the same things as that young lady. Miss Auclair. I say, this gentleman is placing the same ad as you. Well, for a bride, of course. Not a groom! Why don’t you save yourself the price of the advertisement and ask the young lady for a walk?”
Juliette and Roman will indeed agree to marry, and keep it private, only his father and brother in attendance. But he also brings in crews to repair her family home where they will live. Dealing with her alpacas will be a challenge and eventually an adventure.
“Has there ever been a betrothed couple, less happy than the two of us?”
I liked Roman and Juliette together—they’re just what each other needed without knowing it. She learns some business sense under his tutelage, which will prove beneficial for them both. When faced with a crisis, she isn’t someone to just melt, she takes the bull by the horns and proves she is a formidable foe. Many secondary characters added to this storyline.
“This was what marriage was about—having a companion who would be by your side, someone to share your life with. He realized he really didn’t care if the house was dusty, or if he had to eat leftover ham every day, as long as Juliette was there with him and he was there for her.”
Sometimes what will make your life enjoyable is closer than you realize. Maybe not exactly as you envisioned, but exactly as it should be. In the end, the story does have the coveted happily ever after ending.
“We advertised for love and found it in the queue of a post office.”
Juliette is in need of a husband. Her parents have passed away leaving the farm, land and house but she can't find a way to make it work. The house is falling apart, she's been selling off the land, and shes low on money. So she decides she needs to marry. If she marries, her husband can help her manage the land, fix the home and she no longer would need to struggle.
Roman is well off but is being pressured to marry. He doesn't want to settle for a woman that would bore him, not hold a conversation and only look pretty. He wants an actual partner. But if he father gets his way, Roman will be stuck with a woman of his father's choosing. So he decides to take his future in his own hands.
Jullette is putting an ad in the paper for a husband. Roman's putting an ad in the paper for a wife and they do it on the same day, at the same time! So they decide why bother with the ad when they can both help the other. A marriage of convenience. But is that what they both want? And they do not know each other. But as time is spent, the relationship forms... but can it last? Can it even be more than a convenient marriage?
This story was good, but I think I needed a little more from the story... maybe more to happen than just the day to day as a new couple. It was a sweet story all the same. For me , it was a 3.5, rounded up to 4 stars.
I am not sure how I found this, but I assume it was during a clean reading phase and wanting to add to my TBR short no smut reads as palate cleaners. This book did that, BUT it was not really anything exciting. It would have been a 3 star and more just a basic read if not for the time jumps that led a lot of gaps in the story line. It wasn't a bad read, it was clean and kinda sweet, but just because it is clean doesn't mean it had to lack all romance, which I felt this did. It had a great story about the two meeting and trying to grow their careers and private lives to fit, but beyond that there was very little growth in relationships or character. Still a good read if your looking for somehting short. I wont be contuinuing the series tho.
This story is so cute!!! And so well written! All the characters are so well done. They have layers, are relatable and real, yet are cute and quirky as well. The way these two come together and develop respect and admiration for each other was a beautiful thing.
This was such a fun read with just enough tension that it kept me reading. Having to know what happens next. Which romance novels normally do not do that for me, so that's incredible.
The growth these characters go through is a beautiful thing. I love it when you can see their hearts heal.
Plus, we have alpacas. ALPACAS. So freaking fun.
I recommend this one very much as it was not what I expected at all, but something better.
Romance and language: squeaky clean (no spice, all swoon)
Roman and Juliette find themselves both looking for Marriage, looking but more resigned than wanting, they have very different reasons and very different expectations but despite a rocky start what they find together is priceless. A journey of self discovery for both Roman and Juliette has them learning about each other, but also learning a huge amount about themselves, and their hopes and dreams. I love that they find so many new opportunities together and despite their slightly grim and business-like beginning, they do find happiness and love. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
A short, clean, enjoyable read. Juliet Auclair is all alone and looking at losing the last of her home and land if she doesn't think of something soon. She comes up with an idea to send for a mail order husband to help her out. Roman lives on the neighboring property and runs a family business. His father is pushing to be married or lose everything in the business. When he goes to place his ad he finds Juliet. I really enjoyed this story of overcoming, learning to lean on each other during difficult times. Such a sweet story!
Clean Standalone Historical Romance Interconnected Series HEA
This is part of a multi author interconnected series. However it can be read as a standalone. His dad is pushing him to get married or his brother will get everything. She's slowly had to sell off pieces of her family's land to survive. Selling it for less than it's worth to her neighbor doesn't sit well. If something doesn't change soon... What happens when they run into each other at the post office? Will they find love or lose it all?
This is the tale of a young girl trying to survive after the death of her family. Her home and property is in need of maintenance, inside and out. In despair she wrote a short letter for a mail order groom. At the post office she is in line with a handsome young man doing the same thing, looking for a mail order bride. They were married to each other in’s short time. Now the story really begins. You will enjoy the ups and downs they have making this marriage, their new businesses work.
This is a short easy read. I liked the different take on the mail-order bride trope. There are plenty of funny moments in the story to make you laugh though I do feel like the relationship between the two brothers was dropped. I would have liked to see it explored more after the horse riding incident. However, the love story between Juliette and Roman is sweet and entertaining. Definitely worth a read!
Reading Mail-Order Carpenter was fun. Poor Juliette is at her wits end. She has nothing left, except for the house she lives in and her alpaca, Dumas. She needs to find a husband and quick. Why didn’t she think of this sooner. Roman needs a wife, so he save the business. If he doesn’t marry soon, his father will give the business to his brother. By chance, they are both at the post office at the same time and the rest is history. Wonderful story.
Two completely different people find each other and marry quickly. Each for their own purpose. Juliette does things on a whim, and is not too concerned with neatness. Roman is proper, very tidy and neat as well as organized. Can this marriage last through the chaos? very sweet and clean with a lovely epilogue.
I enjoyed this story and did indeed find the hero to be an honorable husband. But shame on the previous men in her life that didn't help her understand how to run a business if she was to inherit it. And thank goodness her husband had common sense cuz once she understood how, she was great at it. They made a great team.
I really enjoyed this story! At first he comes across as arrogant and cold and she comes across as impractical and disorganized. But as they get to know each other and the reader gets to know them, they are nothing like that. Loved the ending. This is short, but so sweet. Highly recommend.
She needs a husband, he needs a wife so what better reason to get married, right? Add alpacas, woodworking, a dilapidated house and a married couple getting to know each other after marriage. That’s what you get with this fun and entertaining story. Highly recommend!
I enjoy reading this short book about marriage of convenience, between two different people with different interests. Would they be able to love each other and enjoy each other company? You will find the answer in this easy to read, and sometimes funny, story.
I loved this book so so much!! Roman and Juliette are the perfect unlikely match. This book made me lol a few times as well! The characters are so loveable especially Dumas! Lol! It's easy to read and lighthearted. -This book is completely clean and wholesome.-
I enjoyed reading the book from Juliette and Roman views. It’s a quick and easy read, I enjoy alpacas. I would like to have one and learn how to shear them, weave the fur and make items. Thru the book I was able to experience. The story of George was interesting.
I highly recommend this sweet romance book with no steamy scene. Build the and Roman had a great relationship. Set in the West. Juice the had a strong business nature and heroine of the story.
