The Game of the Gods has changed hands. Gaia has taken control of the system the gods put in place for their game.
Charles and Kira have rescued Alli from the Goddess Alaria and returned to Earth with news of an impending threat. At home, the lack of significant progress on his quest to create more towns is keeping him and Charlotte from searching for their parents.
It’s time to change that. A goal Charles and his sister Charlotte have been working towards for months is nearing completion, and with it, they will gain access to the rest of the world.
The gods had their chance, and then Gaia took it from them. Earth is hers to control, and it’s time to let the humans know it.
The Game of the Gods is no longer what it was, and a new era has begun.

I was born in a little town situated somewhere in Ohio and raised in an even smaller town some place in Colorado. I attended University for a time, where I discovered that while I enjoyed Electrical Engineering and Computer Science my true passion lay in writing. I live primarily in Colorado but have been known to move around as the need arises. When not writing, I enjoy riding motorcycles, reading anything I can get my hands on, and anime.
I have enjoyed the books in both this series and the linked alaria series, though I admittedly get annoyed by the main character in alaria quite often. In this particular installment I was happy with the growth of the characters. The biggest issue I had is how Charles acted in the big fights of this one. He barely did anything. His magic might not have been strong enough to kill outright those monsters, but it kept referring to his stupid mana regen, then him promptly doing the absolute bare minimum to keep his companions alive. Dude basically just stood around like a moron while people were fighting for their lives. He barely threw out what, 3 attacks against the wyvern/dragon? 1 that did nothing, 1 that stunned it before he promptly failed to follow it up whatsoever, and the last one that sealed the deal, but in the most passive way possible. It really came across like he was a passive idiot and failed to do his part just so the fights could end in a specific way. It didn't make sense, given his character, and just being a survivor of the apocalypse. I want to continue the series, but that feels like genuine constructive criticism.
Amazing books, great series, I started this on audible and hate to switch formats but I loved it so much I had to read the last two as soon as I could. I won't tell too much as this is a review and not a spoiler. The Mc is damaged and realistic. Not a goody two shoes, almost a reluctant last man able to get shit done that's needed. And he's not very happy about it.
I really enjoyed this part of the story. It had it all, a previous books recap. For all the lazy fans that don't bother to read the series again with each book release. It had plot twists, love, leveling, drama, just yes. Read it, if you are disappointed, I really don't know what your problem could be.
This story of the Earth becoming a rpg world was good but it was hard because of the similarities with the other’s stories. Maybe a recap would help not to confuse with phase shift, shadow sun, and that Tao story.
This was the best book of the series. The characters matured and grew in their roles. I really enjoyed the plot line and the twist at the end. Best of all, no cliffhanger for the characters.
I really like this series. It has some of the most well developed, broken characters that I've encountered. It's well worth the read. I really hope there will be more.
Oh so this story had been a fun one since the first time I picked it up, I've looked forward to watch installment and will continue to. Thanks for the entertainment.
