How To Fail As A Husband
Failing as a husband or partner is a choice you're making. Let me explain. Having a successful relationship gives us companionship, a sense of security, and stability in life. You may have already tried the usual therapists, getting advice from that weirdly happy old married guy down the street, or maybe you even attended the dreaded weekend marriage encounter seminar. If those things worked and you don't need any more help with being a good husband, good for you. Go polish your unicorn horn, this book isn't for you. Like most men, I struggled to be a good husband when I was first married. I made mistakes - some of them huge, most of them small but still significant.
The problem was, there was no good resource to learn how to get better at "husbanding." Most marriage books are written by women, for women. They don't really help men much, if at all. While they offer a lot of good advice about improving the relationship itself, they're not as helpful when it comes to improving the job we men need to do being husbands. Over my 30+ years as a mental health counselor, plus my 20+ years of marriage, I've failed a lot. And... I've learned a lot from the choices I made, both good and bad. Not failing requires two understanding why most relationships fail, and then doing the things in your relationship that successful husbands do that lead to them having long, fulfilled marriages. “How To Fail as a Husband” is filled with short, personal, often funny, and to-the-point chapters that each have one easily implemented act that is used by husbands who don’t end up failing. What it's NOT filled with is questionnaires and worksheets to fill out. Just practical, everyday advice from people who've been there. Congrats on starting down the road to not being a failure at this relationship thing."

you’ll have to forgive this writer for a lot of things
being a die-hard, across-the-board Chicago fan being primary among them. Bears, Cubs, then using Dennis Rodman as an example of some kind of savant - well, maybe that last one actually applies - but when it comes to the husband’s perspective as far as marital advice is concerned, he’s absolutely SPOT ON. as a married guy myself, if was frightening to see some of my very own flaws laid out and detailed as if this guy was watching my mistakes as I made them! take heed, would be my advice to readers. while a very serious topic, this read was fast, fun and true.

This informational book written by a mental health counselor, nonprofit Executive Director, husband, and father shares so much wisdom. If you want to improve your marriage, I highly recommend it.
