"The One-Eyed Terror" pits Mountain Man Zach Watkins and his friend Henry Okwaho against their most formidable enemy yet! A one-eyed mountain lion!
Mountain Man Zach Watkins and his trusted friend, Henry Okwaho, return home from a journey to New Orleans, only to confront a menacing one-eyed mountain lion wreaking havoc on their community. With an aged whiskey-soaked tracker and his bloodhounds, Zach and Henry embark on a heart-pounding hunt for the elusive predator, setting the stage for a high-stakes game of cat and mouse that tests their wits and skills.
Rumors swirl that the mountain lion is a "Spirit Lion" summoned by local tribes to rid the frontier of the White settlers. A group of locals, led by a blacksmith and a farmer, also decide to hunt the mountain lion. Tragically, their inexperience in tracking and wilderness survival leads to the death of one of their men.
Now, Zach and Henry face a dual rescuing the stranded group and hunting down the mountain lion. With every heart-pounding encounter and relentless pursuit, doubts arise, and even these hardened mountain men start to think that the beast may indeed be a spirit lion. The story builds to an electrifying climax when Zach and Henry must draw upon their mountain man skills, intimate knowledge of the wilderness, and unbreakable bond to confront the one-eyed mountain lion in a final, breathtaking showdown.
Writing has always been a lifelong dream. Finally, at 71 years young, that dream became a reality. I am honored to be part of Dusty Saddles Publishing, the leading publisher of Western Novels. Currently, I have several Western Series on Amazon: Chet Henderson: Texas Ranger Adventure Series, Bear Willis: Mountain Man Series, and Willie McGee: Mountain Man Series. Along with a co-write with my granddaughter.
In creating my Westerns, I wanted to do three things, be authentic, create likable characters, and tell a good story. With a lot of hard work and prayer, my books have been well received, so, I must be doing something right.
I live with my wife of fifty-three years and our cat Moxie on Rattlesnake Ridge. We are lucky that our children, grandchildren, and great-grandson all live close by. When I'm not writing, I enjoy woodcarving, fishing, and pampering my classic Jaguar.
I donate a portion of the profits from my books to Veteran charities, including the Veteran’s Independence Project.
