Asilo Pack lives in the shadows protecting those without a voice.
When I find my lion mate beaten and near death, I plan to bring him home to Asilo. We pride ourselves on healing more than just the body and no one is left a pile of broken bones and blood without needing more than a healer’s elixir and a bandage or two. I vow to protect him from those who did him harm.
If only it is that easy.
This isn't some bad guys attacking my mate at random. He’s on the run from Steelwick, who by all accounts is the best of us. Now I need to help him heal, clear his name of the crime he’s being hunted for, and oh yeah… find our happy ever. Easy peasy.
His Damaged Purpose is a sweet with knotty heat M/M Mpreg Shifter Romance by the popular writing team of Jena Wade and Lorelei M. Hart. It features an omega willing to do what it takes to protect his mate, an alpha falsley accused of the unthinkable, returning enemies, retribution, some old friends, true fated love, and an adorable baby. If you love your shifters hawt, your omegas strong, and your mpreg with heart, download your copy of His Damaged Purpose today
Jena began writing in January of 2013 as a New Year's Resolution--and so far she has stuck to it!
She lives in Michigan. By day she works as a web developer, and at night she writes. Born and raised on a farm, she spends most of her free time outdoors, playing in the garden, or riding her horses. She also helps run the family dairy farm.
I realized my response to another reader about this book was actually my review so here it is - - I think there has been a serious deterioration of this series, but it was poor writing that led to your confusion. This one in particular had no flow and was delivered in disjointed chunks. The chunks were not linked and in the dialogue the characters swapped speaking roles without framing or set up - confusing. Plus while the plot should have worked this read like a rough draft that never saw the hand of an editor or the care of a Beta reader.
Alpha lion shifter Silas, working as an accountant for the Dara Pride, notices financial irregularities and goes to present the information to his Alpha Jerome, but instead finds the Alpha attempting to force an omega, Nathan. Silas comes to the omega’s defense only to be savagely beaten and left for dead on an unknown pack’s lands by Jerome and the pack’s betas. Omega cougar shifter Pol enjoys his place within the Asilo Pride helping abused omegas but as more of his friends have been finding their mates, he begins to wonder if he’ll ever find his own mate. Pol needs a brief respite camping in his favorite cave and is stunned to find a very badly injured Silas whom he scents as his mate. He’s determined to help Silas heal and to offer his support for Silas’s claims that he’s innocent of the charges that he was the abuser that left Nathan near death. Loved Pol’s unwavering belief that his mate was innocent and questioning the Steelwick enforcer’s investigation. Silas isn’t the stereotypical alpha but is just the alpha the Pol needs – one who supports his work at Asilo and is willing to stand up for what’s right even in the face of daunting challenges. I always love the references to other series, such as suggesting that Nathan might one day decide to go to Greycoast or Northbay, and of course all the Steelwick presence, such as suggesting Nathan calling for help when Jerome was attacking, the enforces, Armand, the twins. Lovely MM mpreg Omegaverse read (knotting, scenting, pride/pack) with a strong storyline featuring a loving couple who are supportive and protective of one another even in the face of danger and standing up to protect those unable to protect themselves. Reading the books in the series in order offers a much richer experience to appreciate the background and characters that feature from one book to the next. Looking forward to Thomas and Beckett’s story!
- a MM shifter romance! omegaverse, fated mates, lion x cougar, instalove, found family, MPreg, hurt/comfort! - honestly even tho the finding of the mate is the same as the first plot the is the coolest out of all of them - and LOTS of hurt/comfort in this baby, Pol really does nurse him back to health in the most loving way - i am so glad Nathan is okay tho omg 🥺 - i acc really loved their scenes in their cave, the way they got to know each other was so sweet - okay very good sex scene - Morgan ‘lying’ to Steelwick to get Silas out was EVERYTHING - i know i’ll learn to love Beckett as his book is next but boy am i mad at him - stop why was it so cute when they spent so much time together in the animal forms!! - such a good reaction to the pregnancy hehehe - i love how many cute domestic scenes we get - honestly how stupid was that alpha going back to the scene of the crime - also FUCK YEA JAS I LOVE YOU - they always write the birthing scenes so well!! - and the epilogue was amazing, i can’t believe i’ve only got one left 😭 - okay this was 100% my fav so far!! it was so good but also how are there this many typos and grammar mistakes?! did it not go through an editor?
Silas is beaten within an inch of life by his Alpha for protecting Nathan, an Omega. He is dumped in the forest, waking up, he finds a cave and collapses. Pol has a two day break and is on his to his favourite spot, his cave to camp. Once gets there he finds beaten shifter, and he is his mate. Steelwick enforcers are after Silas, they must prove his innocence.
I have read many books written separately by both Jena Wade and Lorelai Hart. And I have read the books these two have written together. I have loved this entire part of the series introducing us to the Asilo's Pack/Pride. They were created for Omegas only, Omegas who have been hurt badly in other places by Alphas.
To me, characters are what really bring any story to life. That is true with this story too. Pol- An omega who himself had it very rough before an Enforcer Pack found him and brought him to Asilo. Pol likes to go out to a cave for his time off. He has been cleaning it up, bringing a sleeping mat. He is all set for 2 days off.
Silas- An Alpha. But Silas would say he is an Alpha with a small (a) because he hates to fight. He is also an accountant Alpha.
Less Major characters- Nathan-An omega and Silas’ best friend. In fact, they had made a pact to mate each other if their mate doesn’t show….until Nathan is taken on special dates with Jerome.
Morgan-The head Omega of the Asilo Pride.
Jerome – Alpha of Dara Pride
Steelwick- The group that finds Alphas that have done crimes against Omegas. Among other things.
Beckett – Beckett is the person assigned from Steelwick when Nathan was brought in. As soon as they caught Silas, Beckett naturally assumed Silas hurt Nathan.
Asilo is originally not supposed to have any Alpha there but that changed when Morgan finds Gideon near death and the two are fated. That continues with other omegas at Asilo. This story is about Silas who reaches out to save his best friend, Nathan’s life and is beaten close to death and dumped down a deep ditch. He is able to make his way to a cave…a cave that is being occupied by the Omega, Pol. Pol likes to go there on his days off to let his cat out and fish. He enjoys the peace and quiet this special spot offers. Until he comes and finds Silas near death. He cleaned him up and also had to re-treat his arm. But his leg was so bad there was nothing he to be done. Pol realized instantly Silas was his Mate and when Pol went to get more supplies, Silas also realized he had a Fated Mate in Pol. Even though Silas was in a lot of pain, he wanted to be one with his Mate. After building up strength and talking about everything that happened in in his former Dara tribe, Pol went for help to bring him back. While he was gone, Steelwick came for Silas. They wouldn’t even listen that his leg didn’t work. While he was in their cell, he worried about the Alpha coming back for Nathan. Once Silas got home and was fixed by the healer, he and Pol moved in together along with Nathan. This is where the surprises start happening. And yes, you should read to find these out.
I feel like Lorelai Hart and Jena Wade address some very important but scary issues in these books. They write it under the name of Omegas but do we ever talk about powerful men overpowering less powerful men and raping them? Beatings someone can get when they choose to stand up for someone else. Whether that is someone in a gang, the Mafia, it doesn’t matter. There are gay men everywhere but who will stand for you and who would beat you and throw you in a ditch?
The books these two have written together leave me awestruck. They have a whole community that they have developed. To only read these 5 books will not be enough. Found out about everyone and all the groups! It is beyond exciting if you like to read about Shifters! This story is definitely worth a second look!
Something's not adding up, great who done it! Silas, Alpha accountant kept the books for the Dara Pride. Silas wasn't considered "alpha enough" because he was a pencil pusher, not a fighter. When he finds irregularities in the books he tries to tell tell Alpha, Jerome. But he finds Jerome about to attack his omega friend, Nathan. Silas and Nathan were considering teaming up since neither had found their mate. Jerome beats Silas and has his Betas, dump him on Asilo pack lands with the story that he attacked Nathan. Pol and Thomas, were the last two unmated omegas in Asilo. Pol, omega shifter is happy for his friends who found their fated mates, but he longs for his mate. While starting his time off he finds a beaten Silas and tries to heal him. In his delerium, Silas gives a choppy abbreviated story about Nathan, Steelwick being after him and declares his innocense to Pol. Jerome, with his Betas as witnesses tells Steelwick that Silas is the one who hurt Nathan who iss left in a coma. Silas and Pol have a supreme challenge to heal Silas, prove his innocence and maybe seek justice for Nathan. Riveting story about faith, trust, commitment and unconditional live. Silas and Pol are really good guys who face a challenge right at the beginning of their mating. No gurantee, Silas can be cleared, but the adventure is riveting. The authors have created another mated pair that we are 100% rooting for. Great flow, nice twists. Hot cover art! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.v

Part of the Asilo Pride series each can be read as a standalone with a shifter and the one who captures his undivided attention. Silas an alpha works as an accountant helping the Dara Pride but finding financial irregularities decides to tell the alpha of the Dara Pride only to find them trying to force an omega Nathan to things he isn’t wanting or willing to do and being a good/fair alpha he steps in but ends up being beaten, left for dead by the alpha, his beta left on unknown pack land. Pol omega cougar shifter for the Asilo Pride enjoys helping abused omega’s find some type of healing most of his friends have found their mate but he hasn’t the feeling of loneliness it getting to him dreaming of finding his own mate and heads for his favorite cave only to be surprised by an injured nearly have dead alpha but just any alpha his mate, so the healing begins. “I know you are all the alpha I will ever need or ever want. You’re a good man.”
This is the 5th book in the series Asilo Pride by Jena Wade and the writing team of Lorelei M Hart. When I saw book 5 pop-up on Booksprout I grabbed it up. All the books in this series are amazing!
The Asilo pride offers a safe place for abused omegas and their children. When the series first started, no alphas were allowed on the pack's property. With each new book in the series the omegas that run the pride are finding their fated mates.
In this book Pol finally meets his mate. I don't want to give anything away so I'll just say it wasn't a meet cute when they first saw one another.
Fated mates, an alpha not a capital-A alpha, overly enthusiastic junior investigator, wrongly accused mate
I love the Asilo Pride series and always excited for new additions. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Silas and Pol. When alpha Silas tried to save omega Nathan, he was beaten, left for dead, and blamed for the Nathan's injuries. Pol found Silas while camping and recognized him as his mate. Silas told him he was innocent and I loved that Pol believed him and supported him. I couldn't wait to see how it would play out with Steelwick after Silas and how they would prove his innocence. If Nathan would recover and tell the truth of what really happened. As well as see the relationship between Pol and Silas. I love when Northbay and Greycoast are mentioned as I loved those series as well. 5 stars.
I am begging them to proof read these novels. Once again we've got animal changes with a character going from a wolf shifter to a lion shifter and a lion shifter to a cougar shifter. Asilo is a famous pride and Silas the Alpha tells Nathan to "Do what all omegas know to do" in an emergency but then Silas doesn't know anything about Asilo's existence and Nathan apparently uh, didn't either if he didn't go there without having the shit beat out of him. The series started fine and yet here we are, with massive oversights and mistakes. I don't know it feels like they've given up on making them good and are just enjoying making them Passable.
Silas was picked on in his pride for not being a real Alpha all because he was a nerd and not a Alphahole. In my opinion Silas is the real Alpha. He put his life on the line to protect his friend who was an Omega. He was left for dead and found his way to a cave that his mate Pol used for camping. Hiding out from false allegations and struggling to heal from a brutal beating.

The main characters are Silas, an accountant and alpha lion shifter, and Pol, an omega from the Asilo pack. Silas is severely beaten by the alpha leader of his pack. He is left for dead. He is found and nursed back to health by his fated mate Pol. This mpreg story is similar to other books in this series.
Great addition and a great book! Finding your mate beaten and broken is a shock but a welcome one none the less. Pol nurses Silas back to health as the two find they are fated mates. Their journey to happiness have a few pit falls but they manage to find their HEA!.

Silas was left in a forest, very close to death and little hope. This is not how Pol wanted to find his love, but the fight is only beginning. Silas was accused of killing his best friend.
A fight for health, their love, and freedom. Excellent!.

I loved His Damaged Purpose by Jena Wade and Lorelei M. Hart. It's the fifth book in the Asilo Pride series. I loved Silas and Pol's story. I loved their chemistry. I loved that both Silas and Nathan ended up at the Aislo pack and got the help they needed and that Jerome got what was coming for him.

This was another short (90 minutes) addition to the Asilo Pride series. While it could have benefited from a more thorough proofreading (example: Silas was a lion but at one point talked about his wolf), this was still an enjoyable read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked how fated mates Silas and Pol find each other despite everything. I'm glad Silas' name is cleared and he joins the Asilo pack to work beside his mate.
Pol, an omega cougar, finds his mate in the forest near death. Silas , an alpha lion, is falsely accused of killing his best friend. Pol will do anything to help him prove his innocents. I really enjoyed this book.
I found the book to be engaging with a little suspense. Pol and Silas are such likeable characters. The story kept my attention throughout. Looking forward to the next book. Recommend reading.
