This one was quite painful to finish it. Did I skip some pages? Definitely. Did I curse myself for picking it? Also definitely.
The heroine was a nurse who was raised in the mafia world, so she knew her way. So now you are imagining a badass young woman who is overachieved (and good for her). What is the oxymoron is the way she blushes, the speed she's falling in the lap of her new hubby despite her painful past and the way she giggles. I was like WTH?
On the other hand we have the hero that he is very accompliced and doesn't trust easily as he's saying but he trusts her immediately because she told him so and he's seen it in her eyes.

hit and miss

This book had a lot of promise, but unfortunately I had to force myself to finish it. There were moments I loved (one that sticks with me? Benjamin! He was just hilarious!) and then there were moments that were just cringe! Love button and weeping flower? Gah no thanks. I felt the plot started to drag on a bit tbh
I quite enjoyed the narration though! The accents made the book more enjoyable

The badass MFC Angel was incredible I loved her character she was tough but also super caring about the people she loved..
The MMC Nikolai is a sexy he’s also the head of the Bratva, this book had spice, twists, an awful step mom the side characters were brilliant the humour this was a great Mafia book..

Part of the Volkov Bratva series so make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Angel is a sweetheart who loves her job as a nurse after one trying night of working a double shift head home only to run into an accident being a nurse she stops to make sure no one is hurt or worse but finds a man in the back seat hurt with a lot of scares over his body, a broken leg and allowing him to use her phone to make a call for his brother to come pick him up. Nikolai sexy as all get out head of the Voolkov bratva he isn’t a man you want upset or on his radar, dangerous, ruthless on a good day, deadly every day, and wonders why the nurse who saved him hasn’t called he provided her with his card. The two of them can’t get the other off their mind but neither reaches out until her evil stepmother does the unthinkable. Angel’s father is in a coma so her stepmother is running thing for the Qing Triad having Angel kidnapped to arrange a marriage with the Volkov Bratva but will she be forced to marry the man she saved or one of his brothers, will her father wake from his coma, will her stepmother get what she deserves (which is a lot), and will these two find their way to each other again?

This was my first Rose Chase book and I throughly enjoyed it! I have only just started reading mafia dark romance fairly recently but I absolutely loved her storyline as well as her characters! Her FMC was a breath of fresh air and really embodied the badass FMC vibes. I did listen to the audiobook for this one and it was fantastic! Molly was amazing and really was able to become the character in this one! Definitely one you do not want to skip out on, in book or audio form!

Yes,this girl had big plans and a War on her hands but she is yet to find out that becoming A Volkov and not just any Bratva Bride, but THE WIFE of Nikolai… she will soon learn that this man will tear apart worlds just to keep her by his side!
Yes this man was a goner for sure and their story is not gonna be an easy one towards their future as they face off with their enemies.
But together they will become invincible!

However, although I wish this was a fast listen .. I did however enjoy the narrators performance.. not gonna lie I had to listen at a faster speed than what I normally would listened, but it wasn’t that fast where I didn’t enjoy their performances and the storylines!
Honestly, I was just dying to get to the Stepmonster demise.
Was looking forward to it!

This is a 4.25 for me. I really enjoyed it. I love how Rose does her MC and FMC dynamics. You always have these strong alpha men with strong and usually sassy or bratty FMCs who can stand on their own, but their men love to support them in them being the bad ass women that they are. And that is exactly what happened in this book you have our Bratva MC who married the daughter of the head of the triad who is sort of in charge at the moment and he is more than happy to let her run the triad and doesn’t see the need to take over or try to absorb her family’s territory. He loved how strong and capable she was and said as much many times during the book. But even with knowing how capable she is it didn’t stop he from being a little overprotective of her but not in a way that stifled her. It was just sweet seeing this strong powerful alpha man become mushy over his wife and I loved it.

Now the FMC in some ways was very similar to the MC with small differences. She is strong and more than able to handle her business and she of course knows that he is able to handle his business but when she perceives or sees someone hurting her man well watch out because believe it or not her husband is the more merciful one of the two of them.

I really enjoyed the dynamic of these two and how they played off of each other and really moved the plot along and they had amazing chemistry. The plot was fast passed and enjoyable that made this a really fun and easy page turner in my book. I probably could have finished this in a day if I didn’t have other things going on. I love Rose’s writing and can see what is next in the series.

This book is about Angel who after a long night of working as a nurse comes upon a car accident. What's a nurse to do... well help out of course. She ends up pulling a man out of the car and stabilizing him but in the course of treating him can't help but see how attractive he is. In thanks the Mystery man gives her his number in case she ever needs a favor. She never intended to call him or see him again regardless of how attracted she was to him. So, Suprise Suprise when she is kidnapped by her stepmother who has arranged for her to marry the head of the Russian mob who they have been having "disputes" with and the man is none other than the man she pulled out of the car. She decides to marry the man because even though her stepmother probably planned for this marriage to bind her and force her into submission what it's done is the opposite and instead gave her a partner to help take town the triad that her stepmother is trying to run in her father's stead. What they need to remember is she is not a pawn but a god damn queen and with her King by her side she will burn it all to the ground.

The Bratva's Bride is Book 1 of Volkov Bratva by Rose Chase. This is Nikolai and Angel's story. Angel is a nurse and had just worked an unscheduled double shift and was on her way home when a accident happened. A SUV had T-boned into a sedan, Angel parked her car and got out to see if she could help. She found a man in the back seat of the sedan who was injured. She pulled him from the car and began her examination. He was remarkably well-built, chest sculpted, 6-pack abs, an inked and scarred body. He had a broken leg that Angel had to splint and straighten. Angel let him use her phone, because his was broken in the accident. He told Angel his name was Nikolai and his brother Arseny was coming to pick him up. Nikolai didn't want an ambulance. After the accident both Nikolai and Angel thought of each other. Nikolai thought Angel would call, he had given her his card. Nikolai was the head of the Volkov Bratva and Angel's father was head of the Qing Triad and her the heiress. Angel's father was in a coma, so her stepmother was acting head. Angel and her stepmother didn't get along and Lady Qing couldn't be trusted. Lady Qing has had Angel kidnapped and wants to arrange a marriage between the Qing Traid and Volkov Bratva and a truce. Nikolai, Stepan, Lev, Alexei, and Arseny are brothers and one will marry Angel. Which one ? So many ? Nikolai is a protective, don't touch what's mine, alpha dominant male.
Angel is a young woman is smart and strong and who can fight when needed. This is an exciting read, steamy scenes, desire, action-packed and a page-turner. I think Rose is a very talented writer and I can't wait for the next book. I hope all of the brothers have a book of their own.

Angel is the Qing Triad Princess and the Dragon Head's heir. Unfortunately, her father, the Qing Triad Dragon Head, is currently in a coma and incapable of ruling his Triad. In his place is Angel's stepmom, Lady Qing. Although Lady Qing is temporarily ruling Qing Triad, Angel is slowly dismantling her own inheritance from the inside. Thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the audio was fab!

This is my first book from Rose Chase, so I went in with an open mind as I do with new authors. It's a Dark Mafia Romance with a marriage of convenience, BUT with a twist. A beautiful twist, I may add.

The MMC is Nikolai, head of the Bratva, and boy has that man got a mouth on him. He's filthy, possessive, and very powerful. His entire demeanour throughout is exactly how you would want the head of the Russian Mafia. However, he's NOT an asshole!

Angel is out female MMC and she is one absolute badass that's not to be messed with but her morals bring out a sweet and caring side of her which is needed to be the ER nurse that she is. Don't let this fool you. She can take a life just as much as she can save one!

It's so refreshing to read about a strong female MMC who knows who she is and what she wants but also with that dark side of her. She has her issues, but her relationship with Nikolai blossoms into something beautiful, and their mutual respect for one another makes them the ultimate power couple.

The book was narrated by Molly Briar and Cole Robert Eubanks. Both of which did a phenomenal job throughout. Molly was able to bring out the absolute sass and power that resonated with Angel but also made her vulnerable when needed. Cole has a strong Russian accent throughout, which I grew to love very quickly! His admiration and passion were palpable and the spicy scenes... they were spicin'!!!

Definitely give this book a go if you love dark mafia romance and want to give something a bit different a go. There's lots of spice, plenty of banter and humour, especially with Nikolai's brothers!

The Story:
Rose Chase does an incredible job weaving an intricate storyline into something easy to consume. Her mafia world and characters are so well written as well.

A nurse helps a stranger during a car crash and he hands her his card saying to call him for any favor. She stuffs it away never intending on using it.

Angel wants little to do with the Triad life that her father wants to leave to her, but as he is in a coma her step mother signs her away to be married to the leader of the Bratva.

Nikolai runs things very different than when his father did. Does he still do illegal things? Yes, but he doesn’t sell people and he protects his brothers with everything he has. They are the ones he loves the most until his Angel is thrust in front of him for a forced marriage.

If you want a story with spice, plot, and lovable characters then this is the story for you!

Molly and Cole do an AMAZING job on this! Each of their voices give something unique to the characters that they talk for and the sound effects in this audio are top notch!

I was privileged to revive a code to listen to The Bratva’s Bride. Written by Rose Chase and narrated by Molly Briar and Cole Robert Eubanks.

I found the narrators to be very engaging.

Molly Briar voices Angel and she really brings her to life. The way she spoke was like she was sitting right next to me and we were engaging in conversation. She really nails the personality of Angel and nuances of her voice. The annoyance, the anger, the teasing, the…breathlessness, lol

Cole nailed a Russian accent IMO. It was strong but fluid and he enunciated his words well. He has a great growly voice when the occasion calls for it and he had me ready to say “Yes Sir”! Haha.

The story itself was a pleasant surprise. I went into it only knowing about a forced marriage and I found it a really refreshing take on it as while yes, it was forced, Angel and Nikolai had briefly met previously and the marriage quickly became more of an alliance against Angel’s stepmom and grew from there. Their relationship found trust and love quickly. The story focused on Angel’s plotting of taking down her evil stepmother.

The dynamic between Angel and Nikolai was fun, the banter was great and Nikolai’s respect for is bad booty wife, amazing. While he is protective, he doesn’t hold her back as she does not sit on the sidelines and let others do the dirty work. The story has a great combination of plot, action and spice.

The combination of Rose Chase's writing style and the dual narration of Molly Briar and Cole Eubanks was pure magic. While this book was on the longer side, I was simply captivated by the characters and drawn in by the plot. This first book in the Volkov Bratva series focused on Nikolai and Angel. Nikolai, the head of the bratva, was very much the tough alpha male, he will do anything to keep those he loves safe and isn't afraid to spill blood to make that happen. Angel is the rightful heir to the Triad, even though she has distanced herself from the lifestyle, she is still tougher than most and has the scars to prove that she is a survivor. The interplay between these two was great, there was give and take and some very intentional brat attitude from Angel, but who wouldn't want to push buttons when you enjoy the punishment.
Then on top of all that was the narration by Molly Briar and Cole Eubanks. The narration felt dynamic, it brought the characters to life, and was just, *chef's kiss*, amazing. The way that the dialogue flowed felt natural and time outside of the book ceased to exist. Honestly I could have listened to these two all day.

I have yet to come across a mafia romance book, I did not like.
TBB is filled with action, suspense, secrets, cheeky banter, arranged marriages and so much steam!
This is another story that has a very strong FMC, and I loved it. The power dynamic between the two MC’s was thrilling to listen to, especially as their relationship evolved.
I loved the blend in cultures in this. It’s good to see multicultural representation!
This was the first audiobook I have listened to, with @molly.briar and @coleroberteubanksnarrates and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The versatility in both narrators was executed perfectly. They added danger, lust and intimacy with their story telling.
All in all, brilliant job from the VA’s and a story well written!

Strong female lead and good alpha male

Solid 4 star rating.

I enjoyed reading this first book in the Volkov Bratva Series. The author created a storyline that was captivating with leads that were likable and villains you want to throttle.

I love it when an author creates main characters that have a lot of gray but still have good moral compasses. Angel is a strong, independent female but with a heart of gold and some crazy in her, but she is very likable. Niko is not only a sexy alpha male but one that isn't a grade A. Typically, alpha males are jerks with bad attitudes until they fall, but I love it when the main male character is a decent person as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed the extended epilogue. That was so refreshing. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Mafia + arranged marriage WHAT MORE COULD I ASK FOR? obviously I was going to read this book hahaha I mean, I didn't hate the book or the story... but I can't say it was a great book either. Angel's "I’m a boss bitch" was very contradictory in moments she had potential but then she just complained and cried and missed what I assume the author wanted to show with her as a character. I think it took too long to lay the story, the plot started dragging and then rush and resolve everything, from the relationship between the main characters to "defeating the bad guy", in the last 100 pages. Like it didn't evolve organically and more tenderly... I have to say that the audiobook was good, funny and okay with the accents! I’m excited about the story of the rest of the Volkov brothers, just let’s hope that the other books are a bit better!

~*~ Audiobook Review ~*~ Bratva’s Bride is book 1 in the Volkov Bratva series by Rose Chase, and my first book by this author. This is Nikolai and Angel's story. Angel is a nurse and staying out of the family business that just happens to be the Qing Triad. Nikolai is head of the Bratva. Together they are chaotic with all of the plotting enemies and family members forcing an arranged marriage. Buckle up for all the drama, suspense, and morally gray characters you would expect with a mafia romance when characters are drawn together in spite of the odds against them. I’m audio-exclusive, so I’m really glad this book was released on audio. Molly Briar and Cole Robert Eubanks narrate in duet to bring this story to life. Molly is a great performer with authenticity for this role. Cole is a new-to-me narrator who has a nice voice that blends well in duet with Molly.

One of the best dark romances I’ve experienced and first time having a mafia romance as an audiobook. Molly Briar and Cole Robert Eubanks really bring the story to life. Let me make it known that I haven’t read the book before listening to this and I’m still getting used to doing audiobooks. This was a good intro for me to having more than one narrator in the cast. They really made every character dynamic and the whole experience wonderful. How this was done would likely have been how I would have “heard” it if I read the book. I think, if I get to continue with the series, I’d definitely need the audiobooks. I don’t think I’d be able just read the books now that my ears have been spoiled 🤣

The Bratva’s Bride Is a thrilling mafia romance book. The Bratva’s Bride Is part of the Volkov Bratva series. I’m not going to give any details because I don’t want to spoil the book for future readers. When I read the blurb for this book I just knew that I needed to read the entire book to see if it was just as good as the blurb. To say the least it did NOT disappoint. I throughly enjoyed the book. I’m looking forward to reading more books written by this author. I would most definitely recommend this book to other readers.

I will start by saying that it took me a minute to get into Niko's POV. There wasn't anything wrong with it I just needed to get used to the accent. It didn't take long for me to become enveloped in this story. I feel like both Narrators really helped bring the characters to life. I know I could feel the emotion in Molly's voice during certain scenes and i loved that it felt like I was right there witnessing it first hand. If you are looking for a new audiobook, give this one a shot!

This is a Mafia romance that involves Dom/sub aspects. It does have a HEA! As always read over any warnings before starting!

This was my first Rose Chase book. I decided to go in with an open mind. This is a dark mafia romance he falls first angel’s sass was top notch. The book was narrated by Molly Briar and Cole Robert Eubanks. Both of which did a phenomenal job throughout. Molly was able to bring out the absolute sass and power that resonated with Angel but also making her vulnerable when needed. Cole has a strong Russian accent throughout which I grew to love very quickly! His admiration and passion were palpable and the spicy scenes...they were spicin'!!!

This was such a good book to listen to. I actually did a lot of the listening while I was at work and the banter and chemistry between the main characters was amazing. My coworkers kept looking at me because I kept giggling at some of the scenes. It made me so happy that the FMC was her own strong independent person that could interrogate her own enemies.
The only issue I really had with listening was Cole’s accent was a little weird sometimes and the fact that the words ‘member’ and ‘love button’ were used but that’s just my own personal issues and nothing really with narrations or plot.

Molly and Cole did an amazing job! I was hooked from beginning to end! I love the way Angel and Nikolai ran into each other. The instant chemistry and spice, OMG! That accent when the spicy scenes hit, phew!! Nikolai's love and loyalty for Angel is so adorable! I felt like I went through a whole journey with them. I loved every second of it! Angel was scared of rejection but she learned to love herself and then realized she can have a happy life. I really enjoyed the side characters, especially Nikolai's brothers! This story had humor, action, adventure, & love! Pick this up now!

Mafia Romance is one of my favorite books, and this book hooked me from the beginning. The FMC was a badass and reading about her and how she was an angel and had a strong personality, perfect fit for the unhinged Mafia world. She became the Bratva's bride, and MMC was just as unhinged and a perfect Mafia boss. This book was amazing. Every bit of this book was fun to read. I enjoyed it and can't wait to read more from Rose Chase. I would definitely recommend this book to all Mafia Romance Lovelies.

Angel and Nikolai are badasses! But you have to love them! She’s a nurse that helped him when there was a car accident. I love Angel talking to herself. I loved it was instant connection. And she had a backbone to stand up to her evil stepmother but also putting Niko in his place. Wonderful narration with wonderful tone.

This story reminds me of a darker Cinderella retelling. I loved it. I had the the pleasure of listening to this story and Molly Briar and Cole Eubanks did such an amazing job bringing this story to life.

Rose chase can definitely bring out all of the emotions in a story. All of the things that Angel and Nikolai go through are equally parts beautiful and equally parts devastating. It's such a beautiful story, and gives you all the feels.
