When an "accidental" oil slick leaves K.T. with a compromised car that can't be fixed in time to race, he loses his cool and wonders if he'll ever be able to get back on track. Meanwhile, Tak battles against the Lancer Evo team, and the driver's goons are set to unleash some serious road rage on him if he wins. Everyone knows that Tak's not the type to throw a race--but when he gets wind of the beatdown that awaits him, he may have finally found a good reason to put it into cruise control!
Shuichi Shigeno (Japanese author profile: しげの秀一) is a manga artist, best known for the manga series Initial D. Shigeno has also created Bari Bari Densetsu, Dopkan, and Tunnel Nuketara Sky Blue ("First Love in Summer") all prior to the manga that would make him famous in 1995. In 1985, he received the Kodansha Manga Award in shōnen for Bari Bari Densetsu.
The storytelling is just so inconsistent. Last volume Tak got talked to about potentially losing the next race, he had struggles because of him not driving the Impreza correctly and now he races and he essentially schools the guy. It was one of his easier races. The KT stuff I enjoyed, even if I predicted what was going to happen, but the Tak portion heavily overshadowed it and it’s bad.
