Highly recommend!
Another great peek into a few days in the lives of the Ghost Mountain Pack.
These are always hard reviews to write. So many friends, old and new, that we catch up with in each book. So many spoilers to avoid mentioning.
Poet, the title alone should have warned me of all the feels present in this book. All the passages highlighted.
"Poetry makes so many of us fragile. And often, it is our most fragile who make the poetry."
Terrence, another wounded and complex character, whose wolf part suffers in a different way than the human part. Whose poetry shows the truth and leads the way.
"Revenge thoughts won’t help a poet or his wolf. That’s not Terrence’s way, and unless I want to arm wrestle with the polar bears who are Eamon’s jail guards, it can’t be mine, either. Which is one of the tangles Sofia has occasional chats with me about. Her hawk is really scary and has some fascinating ideas on all the ways revenge can be served up."
The realization that humans are wired differently than shifters, and that shifters aren't just humans with an animal or two.
The antics leading up to and then during the mating ceremony, Reilly will be spreading the stories out for several editions.
Then there's polar bears, cats, ravens, Whistler Pack, babies, Myrna, Eady and more. Just the usual Ghost Mountain shenanigans.

My heart always breaks a little while reading these books. They aren't easy books to read, so many of the pack had to live through awful things and now with Hayden around things are so different, so much better, but there is a lot of healing that is going down. Each book more happens and often as happens when one heals, you go through hell to get there. And despite everyone around you wanting to help, you do the heavy lifting. I especially love to see the other shifters from different species and different wolf clans do all that they can to help and to be there to witness the break throughs. It's great to see how the little ones are so comfortable with everyone no matter what, now that the pack is a safe place, one where there is so much love and happiness. That was really shown with the mating at the end. The ceremony was great, acknowledge the horrible past, the healing present and the hope for a future where it is nothing but happiness. And how great was it when it wasn't just about Hayden and Lissa, but everyone other mated couple too. Looks like winter will be fun with the new intern, can't wait to read about it!

Another emotion filled feast!
Audrey Faye always writes about the heart.
Whether it be in a far flung galaxy, a seaside cottage, or the bend of a river in a special mountain retreat. Her characters reach out of the page, wrap their fingers through your own, and pull you into their world with a gentle smile and care in their eyes.
These aren’t the stories for someone searching for gritty warfare or bloodshed. They hold a gentler grit, one for sanding a wooden bowl till it gleams, and easing the cracks in a shattered heart.
The characters in the Ghost Mountain Wolves series may be supernatural in nature, and there is a lot of hilarity surrounding their more furry (or feathered) selves, but these books very much speak to the human hearts and souls that read the words.
Poet is definitely not an action filled story. Like the character it is written about, it is quiet, contemplative and deep.
I will be honest and admit that at first I didn’t think the slow pace would keep me entertained... but I was mesmerised by the many events circling around a very special week on Ghost Mountain and Terrence,who so very easily slides into the background, was glorious as he hesitantly stepped into the lead role in this story.
Don’t pick this book up hoping for a stand alone. These wolves are far more complex than that. The joy comes from discovering them as they were, and travelling with them as they grow.
Read Alpha first... this is not your typical male dominant arrogant wolf book... in Alpha, the first of the Ghost Mountain Wolves series, you will find family, flawed and utterly beautiful. And strength from the absolute weakest amongst us.

"Amazing" seems like such a tame word for these books, but I couldn't think of a better title. Audrey Faye is one of my top three favorite authors. Every one of her books makes me laugh and cry in equal measure, but this one I had to walk away from to settle myself, several times. And I still managed to finish the book, what, two days after its debut. The second I got the email that it was available, I was on Amazon to get it, and seconds after that, I was in chapter 1.
I've seen a few negative reviews for these books, and I honestly question if those reviewers have hearts, because I don't understand how anyone can read these stories and not feel them. These are stories about a community that actually takes care of each other and manages to expand and connect with other communities of folks who are different from them, and they make it work and fit for all members, from a small dominant wolf with Down's Syndrome to cat and hawk and bear shifters as well. It's a community that I would love to be a part of, one that isn't driven by money or politics or religion, but the desire to see everyone in it included and thrive, regardless of who or what species they are. I adore these stories. Inclusiveness is so lacking in our own human world, but when I read Audrey Faye's books, I get to be a part of such a community for at least a little while.
So do I recommend Ghost Mountain Shifters? Absolutely, positively, resoundingly yes.

I wish I could give this book (and series) ten stars. It's worth every one. Reading one of the books of this series is like being in a warm, loving, group hug. These characters have faced years of trauma and tragedy due to some evil pack leaders. Some have triumphed, many are still healing, and some may never make it all the way back. But one thing stands out: no matter how unworthy a pack member or pack friend feels, they set that aside and always step up to support others. This book centers on Terrence, the pack's poet; the gifts he gives, the gifts he receives, and the hope for redemption for himself and others. As usual, the other characters that I love all have a part of this story. I say this with every review - no one writes characters like Audrey Faye. It feels like visiting old and well loved friends with every new book in this series. If you like well written shifter books, stories of rising above evil, love, friendship and fabulous characters, give this series a long hard look. If you are new to it, please start with the first book, Alpha, to get the back story on all of these engrossing characters. You'll love every step forward this pack takes! Bonus that the books are all on KU.

This series is a good story of great people or a deep therapy session for healing readers.
I first stumbled upon "Alpha" a surprising book written by someone who sees inside of people, people who are fierce and have been fiercely hurt. I have enjoyed the slow Wonder as this pack has recovered from a terrible storm. I have watched and learned as they replanted the baron Hill sides of the soul to bring a new spring to family pack and community. I shared these books with my daughter who promptly started writing essays in her psychology class on them. She also is breathlessly waiting for me to relinquish my copy of poet. If "Poet" is your first encounter of this series I urge you go back to the beginning to "Alpha." If this is your 10th visit to go mountain, I suggest you have some Kleenex ready for happy tears.

I really liked this book, it wasn't as emotional as some of the others but it definitely pulled at your heart strings at some points.
This story centered alot around Terrence, Teesha and healing the pack although the story was the lead up to the mating ceremony of Hayden and Lissa which was kind of a let down. It was only a couple pages and not alot happened except for the song. I though with all of the build up to the ceremony that it would be so much more, it was not.
Also there were no new couples mated, which has been the norm for this series so that was surprising.
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are a lot of characters constantly being introduced or focused on and sometimes its too many to keep up with. It would be easier if there was a character index and family tree. Please please can the author do that?
Overall I recommend this book and series.

You'll need to prepare a box of tissues and some cookies before reading Poet.
It's difficult to find words that encompass the emotion that this series evokes. I find myself grinning ear to ear watching the pack find joy in day to day activities, building windows to let the light back into Ghost Mountain. Most often, I'm holding back tears because there is so much pain that will never go away, and because these beautiful souls deserve to not have a single touch of that. Then there are times when I can't help the ugly sobs because there is so much bravery and resilience. They fight with ferocity and knowing that if they fall, their pack will always be there to hold them up.
Audrey Faye wrote a story that will truly carve itself into your bones and inspire and give you bravery when you need it most.

Truly amazing!!
This series has it all. Love, endurance, strength, healing and so much more. I have fallen in love with all the characters on Ghost Mountain. From a pack that suffered great wrongs that transforms into a magnificent pack of healing and strength. Wolves, cats, bears, hawks, ravens and other shifter animals learn together that pack isn't just one shape and that family in all it's shapes and sizes matters.
I waited for over a year for another book on the Ghost Mountain pack, impatiently, but I waited and am so glad I did. This series is so worth the read, you will laugh, cry and find yourself growling on behalf of this pack!

Terrence's words and poetry see so much and feel so deeply for all in Ghost Mountain but especially the walking wounded. They also strengthen the bonds between neighboring clans in new ways.
I am so much looking forward to the next chapter. Ani, the apprentice polar bear bard? Adelina, the emerging wolf engineering intern? The "lost ones" Milo, Ruby, Rennie? The confuse town dominants? Or Kel, soul-wounded still, reliable, loyal, loved but somehow always a bit alone? So many directions for Audrey to go in, I can't wait to see where she takes us ❤️🙂❤️

Wonderful
Audrey Faye has such a way with words, she writes with such emotion that I find myself crying at the oddest times. Poet is a beautiful story of acceptance and love, of the importance of accepting and loving for oneself and, as with all of the books in tohe Ghost Mountain Shifters, I thought it was amazing. I do, however, have one small complaint! There are just too many characters. I love them all but there are just so many now, from so many species, some with very similar names Kelsey, Kel, Kenny, Kennedy as an example - that at times my head is spinning. The story was amazing it truly was but sometimes less is more!

Another wonderful read from Audrey. I love this series of books the characters are just so fascinating and the storyline just grabs you. The emotions this story stirred were quite strong, I even had a few heartfelt tears that's the mark of a great author that you get so into her story and relate so strongly to the characters that you get happy tears :). The mating ceremony and the accompanying feelings of all the packs involved from Wolves, Polar Bears, Cats and Ravens to name a few and the interactions are just soooo good. I thoroughly recommend all the books in this series. Well done Audrey.

Audrey's GMWS books are always strong feels - and this one doesn't disappoint!
Wow, what a story! Lots going on, maybe more than usual here on Ghost Mountain. Many folks are involved in this book, many folks are parts of this story, many folks of different shifter kinds are involved in multiple ways, and I'll admit, it's often challenging to keep track of who's saying what to whom. As always, however, the effort is very much well worth the energy and the tears. (And there will be tears.) I'm already thinking I'll back up a book or three for re-reading, and then read this one again. I'm pretty sure there's more stuff, and feels, and tears I missed in my first reading!

This one had all the feels, our Poet, Terrence, had an absolute terrible time under the old alpha, and feels unworthy. He sees the trauma that still impacts the pack, and despite feeling unworthy, he tries to help with his poetry.
Ivan & several polar bears have come down from the north to attend Hayden & Lissa's mating ceremony, and they also attempt to help the traumatised wolves. His daughter Ani, trying to figure out the differences between bears & wolves, ravens and cats. She's angling for an internship in the winter to study same. Lots of fun, and healing.
Plenty of cameos from other couples and singles.
It's best to read this series in order.

Audrey Gate's books are always gut wrenching, 'Poet' was especially so. I think everyone has felt a little inadequate in there there life and has needed help from friends or family. But as we know on Ghost Mountain almost everyone has been hurt in one way or another and they have come together to form a family. But this family came to realize that those that felt that they were still inadequate because they were abused or because not how they reacted when others were being abused did not matter they are still family. If you are family you are worthy of love. How powerful is that. I simply love Audrey Faye.

Not a comfortable book but oh so good!
I’ve loved the wolves of Ghost Mountain for a long time now but re-read the series again most recently because of a recent change in my life. There is something about the honesty and intimacy of this last book that helps so much. It carves out the space for me to identify and address the wounds from my own life and share those with my friends. Shame is such a major driver for many of us, even for things that we had no control over, and this book does such a good job of naming it and humanizing it and making it much more comfortable to live with.

When I started this book I had no idea I’d need half a box of tissues to finish, but I couldn’t put it down. It’s about belonging.
Your favorite characters from the other 9 books in the series are here. And some new ones! Some polars visit and Ani in particular is outstandingly precious and made me laugh SO HARD I was shaking.
Striking imagery in this book. Writing on bones, under the skin. I’m going to remember that one for a long time.

Another wonderful book. You probably know the ghost mountain pack by now and so know to expect a lot of heart., sadness and joy. You will not be disappointed.
"Poet" comes with beautiful poetry which taught this human's heart to feel vulnerable, to allow her to expose her unworthiness and still say "I want to be part of this" and just maybe be a bit less sceptical when the answer is some form of Teesha's chorus. Thank you, Audrey.

Another Ghost Pack fantastic book
I absolutely love this series by Audrey Faye. I have been following it since the first one and never been disappointed with each new story. So many delightful characters and a mix of emotions as you follow all of their trials and tribulations, recoveries and growth. I so want to move to Whistler Mountain and join them all. I
I am always happy to go back and read each one again as a new release comes out.

I can never say enough about Audrey's shifter series!
Each book in this series grows tighter with more healing in ways that continue to feed my soul, for ghost mountain shifters, and touch my own feelings of being unworthy and not belonging to pack! My tears flowed freely many times in this story, tears of release and tears of joy! Keep up the good work Audrey, your stories touch me as no others do! Your storytelling is amazing. It is rooted in a truth we all need to hear! It is time to heal...

I found this book to be the most emotional one so far. The main character of the story (Terrence - the poet) is, for me, the most "damaged" member presented so far. He truly sees himself as worthless, for reasons too sad to believe. The premise of this story is how worthy the love of the pack and their friends find him and want him to accept. The myriad of approaches focus primarily on poetry and song. The mating ceremony is very touching. The love this family/pack shares is worth reading about. I look forward to the next book.

This book made my heart sigh happily
I've been waiting so very patiently for this book about Terrence and Teesha and it is as wonderful as I hoped. Audrey Faye writes books that speak to my soul, and whenever she publishes a new one I go back to the first in the series in order to really feel the nuance she is so accomplished in expressing. I really hope that encourages new readers to maybe try her books as they are well worth trying.

The pacing was a little too glacial even for a slice-of-life novel, and I can't say I cared too much about Terrence as a main narrator. The emotional parts in the last 25% of the book were tear-jerking, but it was a little of a slog to get through the earlier parts when nothing otherwise significant happened.
I'll still continue to follow the series - I'm most interested in the recovery of the feral wolves like Milo and Ruby.

So full of love and healing
As always, a beautiful Audrey Faye story full of love and growth and healing.
There’s a huge cast of characters in this book, which made me have to stop and remember who many were. Several times in this series, I’ve reread from the beginning before I read the newest book. I probably should have taken the time to do that again. But the release of this book caught me by surprise and I wanted to dive right in.

What Audrey Faye said is true; this is not a series easily started in the middle. I did begin at the beginning and was entranced by the connections between characters. However it had been a while since the last book so it took me some time to get reset in the story, but once there I was again enveloped by the warmth and courage of this story. Well worth the time to read the whole series.

A Place for Us
Audrey Faye is back with her Ghost Mountain Shifters. Originally wolves, the settlement has evolved to include raven, bobcats, bears, and other shifters, living in harmony. If only we could too! Her books ring with themes of acceptance, community, and belonging. It is no wonder Ms Faye has developed such a devoted following. This time, it’s Poet’s time to shine. You won’t want to miss this one!

Audrey Faye writes book that your heart follows just as much as your eyes and brain. Pay attention you wouldn’t want to miss a characters defining shift of reality! You will laugh and cry and sometimes both at the same time! She shows the beauty in the full range of emotions and feelings and they are all honored. After reading any of the ghost mountain books, I think everyone would want to move on in and be part of the pack! This series has a piece of my heart!

Beauty in “Resilience”
At the end of her books Audrey Faye writes that she tells stories of “hope, resilience, belonging” etc.
While that has always been my experience in reading her novels, this one in particular seems to capture deeply all those principles in a way where, on reading about them, I bled alongside her characters who lived them.
I love what Audrey Faye writes, and the Ghost Mountain wolf pack hold many of my favorite people that she’s dreamed up.

It just keeps getting better
This is the only books series I start reading over again each time a new book is released. I simply can't get enough! I tend to discuss these characters like they just live a few states away from me and I could go watch them growing with a simple car trip. Rather than the fictional beings they are. Thank you so much Audrey Faye for writing the masterpiece that is cacooned within Ghost Mountain. <3
