It is supposed to be a game—a game of life and death. But what started with the maze trials ended in a prize that is more than Zirah bargained for. She never thought the prize would be for her to choose between the three Lycan Kings fighting for their father’s throne. Upon meeting the three Lycan kings, Zirah learns that the Kings are no prince charmings. That this would be no fairy tale love story, but one where her life is constantly balanced on the sharp edge of a knife's blade. A knife that is poised to take her life or leave her horribly broken. The Kings want nothing to do with her or each other and plan to get rid of her. What they don't expect is for Zirah to fight back, only she plays with something far more dangerous than weapons. She’ll play with their hearts. Zirah has to pick one King, but secrets will be revealed, and the battle between the Kings will be for more than just the throne. They will battle for the queen that they tried to break. But there's just one Zirah wants revenge, and what better revenge than taking away their precious throne?

I rushed through this book and went right into the next one very quickly. Great introduction to the story! I do not want to spoil anything, but the FMC is one strong badass female.
I knew when I saw this was a Jessica hall Book that it was going to be a good one! Such a slow burn good book with more twists and turns! I KNEW what was going to happen but then there was doubt…and then there wasn’t…and then WHAM! Read this book. Theres some spicy but the story line is fantastic. I don’t know why she isn’t more famous than she is but god I wish I was rich because I’d have every damn book by her lol 😆 can’t wait to read the second one!!! I’m an Amazon kindle member and I will only pay for books if it’s a Jessica hall book. That should tell you something
It’s an amazing story not no fairy tail but ifs that what it looking for this ain’t it she goes through hell and comes out the other side stronger than before very well written ( of course cause Jessica Hall wrote it) this book will blow your mind and have you begging for more
I read this on a reading app and it was so good that I paid the weekly subscription and finished it in a day. Let’s be honest, there were no surprises, except Zeke’s remorse at the end. Maybe there is hope for him??
This is a paranormal forced reverse harem, probably?? It’s too early to say. I’ll let you know.
Solid ending. Middle was weak sauce though. I found it hard to read of a mate who legitimately was going to kill her if he could. I really want to see final though so I’ll probs end up reading the next book too

The plot is so intriguing with almost tangible characters. As the story develops it pulls you deeper into the world. I couldn’t stop reading waiting for the next piece to drop into place. By the end I was on the edge of my seat craving the set of pieces to this series!
📖 Summary: I was fully invested from the first page—pulled in by the royal pack politics, the slow-burning mystery, the whole dynamic between the FMC and these very intense Alpha Kings. It had tension. It had power plays. It had a girl trying to survive in a world that wanted her broken—and I was hooked on all of it.
And that scene in the maze? Where the wolves surrounded her to keep her safe? Literal chills. My pulse was racing, my brain was screaming. That was the moment.
The supernatural world-building? So damn satisfying. It deepened the hierarchy, added emotional depth to the bonds, and set up a whole world I want to live in. Or die in. Whatever. Worth it.
💖 Favorite Character / Theme: The FMC? Survivor with a capital S. She’s endured hell and still walks like she owns the room. Her strength isn’t loud—it’s earned, and I love her for it.
The Alpha Kings? Oh f*ck. They’re all a problem. I don’t have a favorite—I want the entire damn buffet. Each one brings something unique to the table and I’m desperate to see where their power dynamics go next.
Theme-wise, this book hits on survival, found family, and identity under pressure. It’s about power, protection, and being seen when you’ve spent your whole life being cast aside. And with the truth finally out? Book two better be ready to bring emotional carnage.
🔥 Smut Level: 🌶️🌶️ Slow burn but throbbing with tension. You know it’s coming. They know it’s coming. Everyone’s just barely holding back and it’s driving me insane. #SmutTags: #WolfyTension #TouchHerAndDieEnergy #AlphaPossessiveVibes #MazeOfFeels #FeralKingsIncoming
