I read The Christmas Reunion(Holidat Hearts Book 2) by Grace Myers through the kindle Unlimited program. This book is so good. I totally wasn't expecting how this book ended. Can't wait to read the next one. A story of loss, having to walk away from the person who holds your heart in their hand is never easy. This is a emotional, fast read.
This is a lovely story about the trials of one young girl and her brute of a father. Heather is on a path to learn about her parents after her her mother recently passed. Many surprises are in the works. Good friend Kiki is a nice balance to the story. I was given an advanced reader copy of this book and I am freely sharing my review.
Annalease had sent Heather a letter to let her know that her mother had died, but before she died she changed her will to include her and she must go to Saugatuck to find out what it’s all about. Heather wanted nothing to do with it, but Kiki finally talked her into going, so they head to Saugatuck to find Annalease, and learn about her parents, Heather is still struggling with it on the drive there, she’s still trying to make excuses to keep from going. They get to the house and Annalease is no home, so they find a door open and go in. Heather can’t believe what the house looks like, nothing they would have ever lived in. She sees a whole different decor than her parents would have when she was young. She sees a collection of what her mother always wanted, not what her father always demanded. She was shocked! Annalease comes home and finds Heather and she explains she met her one time before she left home, that is why Heahter does not remember her, it was all too much at the time she was going through the drama. Her mother was good & kind person, but her father was so cold & unapproachable, she just gave in, and allowed him to have his way. Annalease had gone to the bathroom to clean up after the cat had caused her to splash hot chocolate on her blouse. While she was in there a visitor shows up, her eyes are so familiar, can it be? I can’t wait to see how this plays out. It’s got to be good! I’m certainly enjoying this series. I’m anxiously waiting for the next book!!
I received this ARC Book for free & I am giving my review for free in my own words.
Book 2 of the Holiday Hearts series gives more background to the difficult life of Heather from the first book. Her friend Kiki has convinced her to find out about the terms of her mother's will and when they arrive a surprise guest shows up. This is not a standalone. It is a series of novellas that tell a story. The first two have ended with a cliffhanger. Book 3 comes out November 7th. I don't usually care for this serial format, but the story is worth it.
A very interesting story that hooks you immediately. Grace Meyers tells deeply human interest stories, the only problem is you get hooked into wanting the entire series as each book is rather short. This gets too expensive for my budget so I shy away from her writing.
Got some more background on Heather. Kiki has been good at getting Heather to reconsider her family’s possible actions other than kicking her out. Heather assumed her parents told the truth about what she left vs saying she ran away. Since no one found her she assumed no one looked for her versus looking and not finding. Memories are tricky.
This is a really good story about the strength a young female develops as a result of her overly strict father. It is full of surprises along the way. A very enjoyable read! I received a free copy for a voluntary review.
Heather reluctantly allows Kiki to convince her to find out about the terms of her mother’s Will. This book fills In background information about Heather and her journey from her teenage years to the present. Tragic circumstances formed her into the person she is today. Who is the unexpected guest?
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
After thinking the first book moved slowly, I was a little apprehensive about reading this one. This is do much better. Emotional start & finish, I can’t wait to se what’s next.
The Christmas Reunion is Book 2 in the Holiday Hearts series. Good story. I still think it could have been told in one book, maybe two. But wait, then not as many books would have been sold. Geeeeez!
This is n interesting story, it’s about a young girl getting pregnant and b ong put out on the treet by her “ saintly father” she Irvin’s but more to come.
This second book in the Holiday Hearts series was better than the 1st. It got more into the plot of the FMC, Heather and her journey to visit her mothers old Cape Cod house. I'm hoping the romance will kick in during pt. 3
