The Expanse: Dragon Tooth Vol 2* by Andy Diggle and Francesco Pisa:

---

**Rating:** 5 out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Andy Diggle and Francesco Pisa deliver yet another stellar addition to *The Expanse* universe with *Dragon Tooth Vol 2*. Staying true to the action-packed tone of the beloved TV series, this graphic novel continues to immerse readers in a richly layered narrative that doesn’t miss a beat when it comes to continuity.

Picking up ten years after the conclusion of the first arc, the story plunges readers into a universe teeming with intrigue, danger, and mystery. The stakes are sky-high as the Laconia gate faces deadly technological challenges, while humanity's bonds fray in the expanse of interstellar space. Diggle masterfully weaves a plot that highlights the dangers of trust and deception, keeping readers on edge as the Rocinante crew hunts down deep-cover operatives whose ruthless actions test the limits of morality.

Francesco Pisa’s artwork shines in bringing the characters and high-octane scenes to life, echoing the visual intensity of the television adaptation. Each panel pulsates with vivid energy, making it easy for fans of the show to feel right at home while being thrilled by this medium’s unique storytelling capabilities.

This installment captures the complex political and emotional threads that make *The Expanse* so compelling, proving once again why the franchise has garnered such a passionate fanbase. For long-time fans, this graphic novel is a treasure. And for newcomers, it’s a thrilling window into the broader narrative universe.

Eager anticipation builds for Vol 3, as the creative team promises to further unravel the mysteries and conflicts brewing beyond the stars. This is an absolute must-read for anyone who loves science fiction that expertly combines action, intrigue, and deeply human themes.

Second in a planned trilogy, Dragon Tooth Volume 2 continues the story of the characters from the Amazon Prime show, jumping ahead 10 years from Volume 1. It also helps fill in some gaps between the 6th and 7th novels, though it does so inexpertly as this is very much the universe of the show, not the books. And there is as yet, perhaps never will be, a watchable version of the final three books of The Expanse novels.

The art remains strong, and the characters are believably crafted to act as they would have on the show. All in all, I highly recommend it to fans of that series.

The first arc was interesting. But the second arc was better. I enjoyed this one very much.
Looking forward to diving into the third and final (?) arc of this story that bridges the gap between book 6 and book 7.

This volume jumps ahead ten years from the previous which may make sense if you read all the books. I've only read the first, and watched the show of course... Still fun to visit these characters. Not sure they are building to anything big for vol. 3. We see ...

This middle installment of a trilogy definitely takes lovers of the Expanse universe in general and of the Rocinante in particular back to old characters and old themes. As a "middle" installment it has to carry a bit of weight for the big payoff, but manages to do so decently.

Still very good, although for some reason the art bothered me here some and I'd been happy with it in the first volume. Feels like something changed but the artist is the same? Anyway, big jump in time but makes sense. Well done overall.

The story is picking up pace in this second volume. It brings back the alien-mystery vibe of the very first book for me, that I enjoy more than the faction politics we see more in Vol 1. Amos is still hilarious in its own way.
I'm looking forward to reading the last volume.

This takes up the story 10 years after volume 1. The traps set then are closing around the Medina station and Holden's crew. Holden may have solved one mystery, but he still doesn't know who his enemies are. The plot is much deeper than he realizes and no one is safe yet.

Quantum voices. Murder mystery. Pawn sacrifice. Power suit capabilities. Mission creep.

The 10 year time jump in some ways makes sense but I feel like it saps some of the momentum out of the story that we are seeing a dramatic midpoint in a (presumably 20 year plot where the bad guys almost get caught but not quite

This is a good "Expanse" story. It offers mystery, adventure, kinship, and an interesting villain. Bring on the next volume!
