Using the cauldron for ritual, creation and manifestation.
The cauldron has always been a symbol of magick and creation and played an integral role in Celtic myth and history. Aptly known as the vessel of manifestation or creation, what we put into it creates something new.Delve into the history of the cauldron and learn the many ways it can be used to help focus your intent to manifest change in your life. This easy-to-follow book contains practical, modern-day recipes and rituals that can become a part of your everyday life, no matter where you live and what culture you come from. Whether you want to create more flow and joy in your space or manifest love and abundance, the book will guide you through every step of the process, using readily available ingredients or substituting herbs and plants that you wish to incorporate to make your ritual more personal.Bringing together her knowledge of Celtic shamanism, crystals and working with plant spirit medicines, Nicola McIntosh teaches you how to create herbal brews, essences, incense, spell bottles, medicine pouches, meals, anointing salves and much more in a variety of cauldrons. The cauldron is symbolic of transformation and Nicola's fresh, modern-day approach successfully brings the old ways into the new.
I thought this was cute! I enjoyed the history part of the book and learning about historical significance of cauldrons! It’s a cute reference book as well. Didn’t blow me away but I still enjoyed it!
Many of us find ourselves drawn to cauldron in our magical paths, but if you’re like me, it’s not readily apparent what exactly to use them for. I think I spent the first year of having my cauldron not knowing how to use it or what to do with it; and regrettably I don’t even have one currently since moving overseas. That is going to change after reading Nicola’s incredible book.
This could very well be your very first book on anything magical, Celtic, or cauldron-focused, and you would learn a lot and not be overwhelmed. I also feel it’s very applicable beyond Celtic paths alone. Equally, as somebody with over a dozen years on this path, I learned a lot and realized that there are so many practical uses for cauldrons that I’ve been missing out on.
I’m somebody who makes my own lotions and body products, with few exceptions. So it was very enlightening to see all the opportunities I’ve been missing to infuse magic into these products. The sections of this book cover everything from the myriad ways of using plants and calling on plant spirits with your cauldron, as well as using cauldrons to create useful practical things for your life from lotions and salves, to torches and candles. I also really liked the exploration of Spirit fire, something I’ve never made but I’m now super excited to make.
As a land spirits practitioner, somebody who works directly with the land as Spirit, this book was a wealth of information that I’m excited to reference again and again.
I also would like to add that the printing of this book is absolutely stunning. It’s a must have for your library, and a really beautiful addition to a kitchen witch’s collection.
The hardcover and heavy pages are perfect for staying open on a book stand. And the illustrations and photographs really explain things so beautifully and thoroughly while inspiring you to create! Highly recommend this book to the creative witches out there, it’s so inspiring and approachable.
