Having looked on helplessly as Momo fought the Evil Eye, Okarun resolves to become stronger. To help with his training, Turbo Granny takes him, with Aira in tow, to the school’s music room, where they’re attacked by the portraits of composers hanging on the walls! But with some tips from Turbo Granny, Okarun is able to beat them, and he decides then and there to take on the Evil Eye!

Another great, fun, wacky volume with the start of a new BIG story arc! Jiji and the Evil Eye kinda took the spotlight on this one

Mais um volume muito divertido, cheio de ação e coisas bizarras acontecendo com Okarun e no seu entorno.

O mangá começa com a conclusão do treinamento de Okarun e Aira, com uma finalização bem inusitada, pois envolve até o Olho Demoníaco.

Após as consequências do treinamento reverberando no Olho, a entidade consegue ser controlada e Jiji volta a sua vida quase normal, o que rende cenas bem engraçadas do Olho Demoníaco na escola.

Em sequência, somos iniciados, de maneira gradual e bem feita, ao arco do novo inimigo de Okarun e seus amigos. Na ocasião, os protagonistas terão que enfrentar um Kaiju e contar com a participação de um novo personagem bem esquisito.

The way these volumes are laid out is a bit odd; they’ll start a new arc in the middle to end of a volume instead of the beginning of the next. I guess at least there isn’t five thousand short stories/mini comics in the back and almost all of the chapters are relevant to the story so far.

Okay this is getting different, in a good way, remember when I said it was repetitive? Well that was what changed, it wasn't predictable what happened, I was not expecting this at all. Of course, the fights are expected and a little the "same" but I'm enjoying and that feeling that it was always happening the same I don't have it anymore. I really like where this is going :))

Space Kaiju! 'Nuff said.
This continues to be fun and wacky, and I'm pretty sure we are goanna get another person in the group. The two page spreads are frequent and lovely, as is all the art.

Well, this was fun. Okarun comes up with a clever solution to deal with Jiji's Evil Eye, the house gets fixed, and they may have found Okarun's other family jewel. The fight layouts are great. Two new characters are introduced who seem to have a crush on Momo and Okarun, but Momo's crush has been drawn into their supernatural world, so he's already a mainstay. The humor in the slice of life bits such as Momo's job or the Evil Eye spends a day at school is more fun. There isn't as much action.

Again a five star read. Jiji in yokai form is adorable 😭😭. That whole chapter of him living a normal life was so cute. Although that deal with okarun is making me sad and scared for what’s to come in the future. Please don’t end badly😭😭. Again love the development of okarun and momo😍😍. The fact people are noticing too🤭🤭. That perv though…. Ew. Just ew. I have a feeling he’ll become part of the gang though😭😭. Also not okaruns ball becoming a kaiju💀💀💀 Next volume i better not see a fight break out between okarun and evil eye or anyway dying please 🙏

Primero tenemos el final de la pelea con los musicos clasicos, maravillosa.

Luego pelea entre Okarun y MaldeOjo para "resolver" ese asunto.

Aqui aparece un personaje nuevo que es de flojera, el tipo que le tiene envidia a Okarun porque se hizo amigo de Momo, y por malinterpretar cree que la "tecnica secreta" es decir chistes sexosos. BUUUUU

Inicia un nuevo arco, donde primero pelean con una cosa invisible que al parever tiene la otra "bolita dorada" de Okarun, y luego un monstro que no es Godzilla

Se pone bueno el cliffhanger

me encanta el tema del agua en relación con el espíritu que habita en jiji, personaje que pensaba que me iba a caer mal pero en realidad no, y que okarun y momo cada vez se acercan más 🥹 esta pelea en relación a la música estuvo muuuy rara pero me gusto, y okarun enojadisimo con ganas de cagar a palos al ojo maligno JAJAJAJA

This, along with Sakamoto Days, Kaiju no.8, and Rooster Fighter, is consistently one of the most entertaining manga with every release!

The characters are charming, each to their own, and the stories just get wilder and zanier, but somehow the book stays rooted and true to its core.

It’s really too-notch. I’m looking forward to the anime release in two weeks (as of this writing)!!

Dandadan Vol. 8 is an absolute blast, solidifying itself as one of the strongest volumes yet, earning a solid 4.5 out of 5 from me. This volume really lets Okarun shine, as he finally steps up and shows he can be a goddamn badass. It's awesome to see him not only use his powers to turn the tides in battle but also to turn a formidable enemy into an unlikely ally. The relationships among all the characters continue to grow and evolve, cementing them as a truly great and endearing cast.

This volume also leans into a more mature feel with a good bit of cursing, which I personally loved and felt added to the overall tone. The fights are incredibly intense, keeping you on the edge of your seat. And, true to Dandadan's wild nature, a Kaiju even shows up by the end, which is just... perfect for this series. It's exactly the kind of over-the-top craziness you expect and love.

Since Okarun sees both how dangerous and childish the Evil Eye is, he decides to get even stronger to keep it from hurting anyone else - and Turbo Granny decides to help out in her weird way. After they destroy the house in a fight, everyone helps rebuild it from nanocubes. Soon, they hear a school rumor about a golden ball and Momo and Okarun go looking for it, followed by a chubby-looking sci-fi nerd who wants to be a how to be attractive - meet Kinta Sakata. Thanks to his neediness, they find a way to transform the nanohouse into a Gundam-style giant Buddha to fight the Kaiju that hols the golden ball.

I'm reading this volume just as the anime is being released and I can't wait to watch it! The music, the vibrant neon colors and the animation style all look amazing! I think it's going to be a huge success.

Crecer no siempre debe ser en soledad. Okarun, junto con la Turbo Ruca y Aira, logran vencer a los retratos del salón musical. Okarun logra mejorar mucho en términos de poder, y está dispuesto a demostrarlo ante todos los demás, por tal de darles un poco de tranquilidad.

Mal de ojo, por fin bajo ‘control’, ya no se vuelve un problema. Pero la casa de Seiko y Ayase terminó siendo un desastre. Y es aquí donde el grupo demuestra la fuerza de unión que existe, por todo lo que han vivido, y logran rehacerla.

Pero la paz, al parecer nunca será algo de mucha duración, porque, junto al gordito pervertido, encuentran un monstruo gigante.

Ridiculously fun, Dandadan has fully hit its stride. All the pieces are here and now we're just having a blast. I love that everything is on the table for Tatsu. The only thing we're lacking is a true villain to build up. Didn't expect Minecraft Steve to show up, but here we are!

So close to seeing the gang fight together finally!! Hoping for that in the next volume. It’s cool to finally see some layers peeled back for Aira’s character. I also love that the bonus parts are now about Turbo Granny and her cat :)
