This is book two of the Aspenwood Forbidden Shifters Secrets series and the main characters are bear shifter and rogue Beorn and bear shifter Cora. Both were torn from their clans, Beorn after his own alpha had his mate killed for being pregnant before him, and Cora being forced by her family and clan to mate with another, who she had no interest in. Cora is chased down and when she refuses, she is badly beaten by her supposed new match and his cronies, being left at death’s door, and managing to crawl her way onto the Rogue lands and not really caring if she died or not. Beorn senses someone injured while out and abut, and comes across Cora, at first thinking she was dead. He carries her back to his cabin and tries his best to heal her and keep her safe, but once she awakes he makes it clear he is not interested in caring for her any longer and he will drop her off in town to find her own way from there. He feels somewhat puled to her, but memories of his lost mate are stronger and he never wants to be in a position to lose someone again, so he refuses to accept it.

Whilst in the throes of a fever, Cora needs him and he allows her to be satisfied without going all the way with her, but then refuses to touch her again. She doesn’t understand why he is reluctant to accept the pull between them and tries to pretend to still be ill and not yet strong enough for him to chuck out! When she continues to push his buttons and he can’t resist any more, ending up knotting with her the very first time they have sex, he is shocked and he marked her without her permission as well! He makes no mention of it, being shocked with himself and trying to figure out why it happened, when it hadn’t with his former mate. Before he gets much time to ponder this, her former match, who is alpha of her pack now, comes calling at his cabin with his cronies again, insisting she returns with him! But the clan leader soon realises that Beorn is far bigger and more dangerous than he is. He had tried to make Cora come with him by mentioning what Beorn had done in his past, without mentioning the reality of why he had done it. Thankfully, her fear of the clan leader is a lot more than any worries she would have of Beorn, especially since she had felt he was her mate from the outset. He has a little explaining to do, but Beorn finally declaring her to be his, in the confrontation with the clan leader, makes her heart sing! He will protect her, no matter what. Wow what a great book this was and I loved everything from the main characters to the danger, suspense, drama, kidnapping, surprise twins, reconnecting, new dad, second chance and love. Rylie is a bear shifter and only daughter to her father the Alpha and they are going to reinforce the breeder law where one female become the breeder to all the unmated males and Rylie has been chosen because of her blood line and now she is taken away to the cabin where she will meet the first of many males but she escapes but is chased by Langdon who was to be the first but she knocks him out and runs and hides inside a cabin where she start to go into heat. Creed is a bear shifter and the local Sheriff and is heading to his cabin for the weekend where he finds a female inside and he soon realises very quickly that she is his fated mate and he offers to help her through her Heat and she agrees. Creed is sexy as sin and my bear wants to be with him while I'm in heat but I cannot stay it’s to dangerous for us both. When Creed wakes in the morning he knows she is leaving and he lets her go for now but she will come back to him. Leaving Creed was the hardest thing to do but now not long after she realizes she is pregnant and is having his twins but she wonders if she should tell him that he is now a father to a boy and girl. Now they have found her and have kidnapped her daughter andd she goes to the police for help and finds her kids father and tells him that there Daughter has been kidnapped by her old clan and straight away Creed tells her he will save there child and protect them all with his life or die trying and that she is his mate and he isn’t letting her go again. How does it all turn out do they rescue there daughter all what happens to her clan in the end and do they get there HEA or not.

Part of the Aspenwood Forbidden Shifters Secrets series each can be read as a standalone with a sexy shifter and the one who grabs his undivided attention. Beorn sexy as all get out grizzly shifter living as a rogue after the death of his mate trying his best to hold on to his sanity considering his mate was killed by a man who was supposed to be his friend sent away by the clan leader leaving his pregnant wife under the leader’s protection and to find out she was killed because she was pregnant before his leaders wife. Cora’s family/clan wanted to force her to mate an abusive man that isn’t her true mate when she refused, they beat her so badly running and falling unconscious due to her sever injuries from the beating and wakes up in a cabin found by her true mate. The moment Beorn found her he bear let him know she was their second chance mate but after losing one mate the way he did he wasn’t ready to take on another ordeal with the pain of losing another and the moment Cora wakes up she knows he is her mate and intends to let the him know each chance she gets but will he continue to push her away, will he keep her safe, will he stand up claiming her when her family come for her, will she have taken a beaten for nothing only to be forced to mate with abusive man, will she be with her true mate, and can they find happiness something they both needed to believe in again.

Grizzly shifter Beorn (H33) lives his life as a rogue after the tragic death of his mate and the events that followed. He comes across an unconscious woman, Cora (h23), with severe injuries and reluctantly takes her to his home to recuperate. He struggles with his attraction to Cora and his bear wants to make her theirs, but Beorn worries that he couldn’t bear to lose another mate. Cora believes Beorn to be her mate and is determined to pursue him. Things heat up quickly between the two, but Cora’s own traumatic past isn’t done with her and Beorn will have to protect the she-bear he’s already secretly marked. Hot and steamy bear shifters, second chance at love, age gap quickie with knotting and claiming, the start of a loving relationship, and bit of violence/trauma. Would have loved to have a brief ‘down the round’ epilogue, but still an entertaining read.

For some reason, this book had me uneasy. The writing was wonderful, and the character development (as usual for Wilson) was exactly what I needed. Yet there was an unsettled sense as I read. The dialog was engaging, but it was as if it was perfunctory. Both Beorn and Cora had addendas (his stated, hers not so much) they were working toward. The impact on the other wasn't taken into consideration as the tunnel vision took over. I guess it was just a matter of preferring to have the characters be on the same page about...something...while reading a romance.

Rylie and Creedboth have reasons to go rogue from their clans. What they did to Creed's human mate on the orders of the Alpha were unforgivable and what they try to do to Rylie is beyond horrible. Creed finds Rylie wounded and he brings her back to his cabin to heal her. She has her first heat thre and Creed helps her through it. He realizes she is his mate but he would never force her to stay. She leaves and then comes back years later because someone stole their daughter but not their son. When he finds out what happened to Rylie and to save their daughter back he won't stop until he has his daughter back and revenge for Rylie. Such a good book you should definitely read.

Beorn’s mate was killed when he had been sent away by his clan leader who he thought was his friend but she was pregnant before the leader’s mate so she had to go. His bear killed all he found that did the killing after the trial he left everything and went rogue. Found Cora bleeding pretty badly after she was beaten by her clan and family for not wanting the mail they were trying to force on her took her to his cabin. When she was healed she kept telling him they were mates but it took him awhile to accept that he got a second mate. Good book!.

Beorn is a rogue. His clan murdered his human mate and he took his revenge on those that did it. Alone and determined to stay that way, he comes across Cora who has been attacked by her clan for refusing to mate with the man who was chosen for her. The more Cora is attracted to Beorn the more he fights it. When her clan come to take her back Beorn has to decide whether to live in the past or embrace the future. A short, hot and steamy read that shows that you can find love again if you let it.

A lovely love story.

She came into his life unexpectedly, he wasn’t looking for a mate, he had lost her years ago so why was she such a temptation and why had he knotted and bit her when he’d never done this to his previous mate?

A hot, fast paced novella with plenty of steam, a stubborn male shifter who needed to realize his HEA was right in front of him!

I enjoyed this story, we follow Cora and Beorn. You are glued to their story from the start and you can hardly put your book down. The author has described their story in such a way that you sympathize and feel what the characters are going through. There is chemistry and attraction between them, but also that they have to deal with processing the past and the trauma in order to reach healing.

Healing Wounds

Beorn escaped his clan to be a rogue after experiencing a tragic loss that he has yet to heal from. When he finds Cora covered in blood from being mortally wounded, he decides to help her. This story gets more interesting as they begin to heal together, and her past has returned. These two are well written and the short storyline was fun to read.

Cora and Brorn’s story has them meeting when she is beaten and ran till she fell unconscious in the forest where Bowen found her and took her to his house to recoup. But when his Bear says it’s his mate he refuses to believe since he lost his mate and unborn when his clan leader killed them. But when they have their time he marks her and now will have to fight her clan to keep her.
