Hate the sin. Kill the sinner.

Special Agent Emma Last knows that Leo Ambrose is watching her closely. Her fellow agent suspects she’s different, that something strange is happening to her. She can feel his questions in the air between them. She’s not ready to answer them, though, and is happy when a new case diverts his attention.

It’s a bad day when blood and death is easier to discuss than the truth.

A bar owner and a bartender, embroiled in a secret affair, are found shot execution style shortly after closing time. Security footage reveals the perp forcing his victims to their knees before taking their lives. With only a Bible verse left behind, the religious undertone is unmistakable.

Another zealot making an entire faith look bad.

The message is impersonal, self-righteous...and indicates the killer isn’t done. Now Emma and the rest of the team must find him before he leaves his next blood-spattered clue.

When the gunman’s signature is found at a nearby mosque, Emma thinks he’s marked his next location. Her hunch proves wrong, though, and he had a different location in mind, executing two more victims.

With a body count of four in just a day, the urgency escalates.

As this killer becomes more unhinged, nothing can prepare Emma for who and where he strikes next.

Last Sinner is the sixth book in the Emma Last series by bestselling author Mary Stone. As the pages turn, prepare to pray for mercy.

Heartbreaking Death

Special Agent Emma Last is still avoiding Leo Ambrose’s questions. Leo continues to have dreams of the wolf and swears he hears it calling Emma’s name. He feels something weird is going on with Emma and he wants answers that she is unwilling to give him.

SSA Jacinda calls in Emma, Leo, Vance, Mia, and Denae to solve a case involving a murder that appears to have religious undertones. A bar owner and the bartender were killed while kneeling and a note was left with a bible verse on it. Why were they targeted? How many more people will die before the killer is caught? How does this effect Emma? Will any ghosts show to help Emma?

Sloan and Mia have a lead on who killed her Mia’s brother and they take off time from the case to follow up on the lead. Will they finally find Ned’s killer or killers?

Emma and Oren’s relationship is progressing and Emma believes she has found someone to love. Oren and Emma are looking forward to dinner at a Peruvian restaurant. What happens?

Last Sinner is an emotional roller coaster. You can feel the fear of the victims as they plead for their lives. One death in particular has you screaming no, please don’t do it. You better have the tissues handy.

Emma and the team are back with a odd case involving religion and mental health. Part of the team works together off books and solves Neds murder, which helped some and made others aware of some problems. Emma got more clues about the Other, but she doesn’t understand. The case takes a tragic turn and has some scary moments near the end for Emma and Leo’s safety. Jacinda is a great leader and it was nice seeing the team together. The Leo and Emma tension over the ghosts and wolf needs some progression and I still am not a fan of the Daneda and Leo romance as I feel the story has too many odd relationship tangents at play. The death of a certain character had me in tears and made me against other relationships in this series even more. He was a drastically different character than the rest and I loved what he brought to the story.

The best ever book! In this new fast paced thriller Emma fights Zealot killing “sinners”. At first the team cannot even find any clue why this murders are happening. The ghosts are not helping and she has no time to continue to look into her personal issues or discuss anything with Leo. Will she and Mia find the killer and reason for Ned’ murder? Only thing that looks good in her life is the man who loves her, tolerates her job and understands her, Oren is becoming a perfect man. Author again creates a fantastic plot and pushes on our feelings of love fear sadness loyalty and grief. Mary became our reality check.
And she is not afraid to shock us or leave us hanging up there. Thank you ! Lida

I have enjoyed this series so much, I dive right in. SSA Emma Last is still trying to solve these mysteries and murders by talking to the ghosts of those who passed. SSA Leo Ambrose is watching her very closely, he knows something is up but doesn't know Emma's secret. Mia is her friend and co-worker knows the secret, Emma has been helping her and her brother, since her brother's death.
The sinner or you could say the man or woman who is hearing God's voice and following God's instructions getting the world rid of sinners, has left few clues but is still leaving a trail. Will the FBI find their last sinner?
Great series, I couldn't put it down and read through the night.

sitting on the fence

Well, Mary stones books are good reading. It just seems that breaking it down to every little minute of every little day and making so many books is defeating the purpose of easy reading. It seems like you have to read 20 books before you actually get to the outcome of what you’re actually looking for. The people getting together the mystery being solved. I would rather you put more into one book and then go to the next one and let it maybe skip a few months or something. Four books later and we’re still waiting for Leo to be told about her gift. It’s frustrating but your writings good

Just Brilliant!!!! This series is so thrilling, I have just caught up. What with Emma seeing and talking to ghosts, the death of her boyfriend Oren, and Leo watching her wanting to know more, these books are very fast paced. What will happen to Emma next, and will she still be in a job she loves. One can't help but worry about her, let's hope she is strong enough to pull herself together. Once again Mary Stone has given us another page turner. But deep down I would like Emma and Leo find love with each other. Anyone else feel the same? I can recommend all Mary Stone books, each series is excellent. Well done Mary. Look forward to reading many more of your books.

Another great ARC from Mary Stone. This series just keeps getting better as Emma Stone and her team start to come together, and Emma starts to open up about her ability to Mia and she knows that her partner, Leo, is starting to watch her closely. Emma knows she will have to tell him about her ability. But for know, the team must find a religious zealot who is on a murder spree and they want to catch him before more bodies are found. Then the hunt for the killer hits close to home for one of the team. Where will the hunt lead and will more ghosts try to communicate with Emma?

Emma Last...liason to the Other

Ghosts delivering cryptic messages. How is one to decipher their intent? A crazy chase of a wayward religious lunatic whom has become unhinged thinking God, not Satan is directing him to wipe out the fallen. How does someone become so lost that they place their faith in the wrong hands?
The FBI team struggles to piece together the clues, as few as there are. Emma's desire for love and normalcy fall just beyond her grasp. Such an overwhelming sorrow.

Two people are found dead at the Lost Highway Tavern after closing time. Emma and her team are having trouble finding much information on who might have done this. Meanwhile two more people are found at a local store. There are indications the murderer for some reason feels his victims have sinned and he must get rid of them. Meanwhile Emma is stressed and begins to really fall apart after the next victim is found

This book took me by surprise. We finally got a conclusion to Ned's death. Sloan and Mia are finally at peace with each other. But the big ending was a tearjerker. Just when Emma finds the man of her dreams everything goes sideways with a delusional schizophrenic who is wiping out people right and left. You want to feel sorry for the villain, but he is so brutal you just can't. This book will keep you interested. I think it is the best one yet.

Emma is taking it slow but it feels like she might be falling in love. A killer is loose in town though.

Emma is given Leo as her partner on the new crime spree in town. Leo hasn’t been told about her ability to see others yet. And he is suspicious of something and wishing his new partner trusted him more, like the other ladies on their team.
Emma is seeing Oren more and more. Who would think she would get involved with a yoga instructor. But he is such a nice man.

Oh Emma.

We all spend more time alone than with loved ones if we have been lucky enough to meet our very special one! Hard lessons are just that and often full of sadness but a chance to learn a lesson you have been avoiding for some time. You need to allow others to love you and help you with life's battles! Sure look forward to the next battle, maybe the family she longs for? By

Chilling and thrilling…Last Sinner is the best in the Emma Last series! Mary Stone is so capable at pulling out countless emotions in the reader; joy, fear, sadness, grief. Her gifted ability to create the most horrible human monsters knows no bounds. This novel is fast paced and cannot put down type of book I love. How will Emma go on…

As much as I love the series and the characters, I did not like this one. Hated the plot. Hated the plot and hated the book. I found offense to it although it's fiction and fake. I get that. But, I'm a Christian, I'm not a perfect one but I believe in my faith. I could not for the life me love this one at all.

Still like the series but this one is a one star.

Last Sinner Emma Last Book 6

Emma really needs to take time off from the FBI. Granted, she has suffered many losses, but between all the ghosts haunting her, & her crazed driving, she needs a complete rest. She risks other's lives and breaks protocol. This is not what an FBI agent needs to be dealing with in order to safeguard lives.

Wow!

High energy and high intrigue announcement in this book. The subject matter is a tough one as almost everyone has a viewpoint regarding Christianity and some folks becoming extreme in their misguided beliefs as to their relationship with a truly loving, forgiving and gracious God.
Well written, lots of excitement and a mad of human emotion. Well done!

Who is the madman going around DC killing people and why? First a bartender and her boss. Then a shop owner and her employee. None of it makes sense as the VCU tries to catch him before he takes anymore victims. Can Emma and crew find him before he strikes again? And at what cost?

Good series, good story, surprise ending. Can someone be too religious? It seems in this novel mental illness and religiosity are intertwined to climax in a detrimental way. Enjoyable characters and tragic loss.

Mental Illness

This story is one that a lot of people are experiencing today as there is more mental problems. It was a sad situation that not being handled and understood by a number of people. The killing that happened should not have happened if the problem was addressed.

I honestly don't know how to rate this book. Normally I would give it a rating of 4.25, but the added storyline involving Ned, and his killers was ridiculous. I was looking forward to finding out what happened to him but ended up feeling disappointed.
